Bai XiaoShang had me cackling throughout this episode
He is such a mood! 🤣 And, I have no idea how he expects anyone to do anything while he keeps interrupting and putting so much pressure on them!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also, him having a pimple in his dimple made me laugh out loud lol!
I rewatched TSL last week and it's still so good. What makes this drama stand out compared to a lot of C dramas…
I catch an episode now and then when I need a quick pick me up and fall in love with it all over again everytime! Such a gem! And the chemistry between everyone is insane!
I freaking love the way they're so comfortable with e/o like the friendship is so sooo precious to me 😭 they're…
Same! I love how honest they are with each other at every step.
“I am in love with you so keep your handsome face away from my sight cos you make my heart flutter!” “Sorry but I will never love again” (but I will secretly stay awake and do magical things to unlock your mind’s eye and make you happy) Lol!!!
Honestly 😁😁😁😁 I love how realistic this is. Even though he’s the perfect ‘man’, she’s not even entertaining the thought of getting together with him. She’s so focussed on her family and the first chance she got to make something of her life that she’s completely missing the cues. As a viewer I am like “Hello! THIS is the perfect example of what and who you deserve!” In a way, I am glad she met Roy before she confirmed the husband’s betrayal (she seemed to have tonnes of doubts and kept brushing them off - which is also so real!). I hope she leans on Roy more as a friend and finds her ground. And I like Roy for being such a mature character and knowing his boundaries with people.
Everything aside and after ep 6, I NEED A DR ROY KIM IN MY LIFE! I really love the dynamic he shares with Jung Seok. The hot supportive bestie with a head full of hair 😂😂
The “I’m being mean and leaving you to protect you” is actually a very real reaction to trauma not just…
Ahhh, okay. It’s not that you have anything against it but that you’re fed up of that trope. Fair enough 🙂🙂
I didn’t think that the therapist was annoying per se as it was clear that their relationship went way back to when he first started seeing her in high school BUT in the short time frame that they showed him with her, she came across as quite callous and done with JaeWon and this is a purely personal opinion 🙂 Especially in that scene where she talks about her patients who die by suicide, it felt like she made it about her and not about him. Again, this is how I felt.
I am quite intrigued to hear that you found her entertaining and so, thank you for a perspective that’s different to mine🙂 Something I can think about
Omg you hit the nail on the head; especially with Unintentional Love Story! I read someone comment on YouTube…
Was this about how he wanted WonYoung’s feelings to be expressed and not have the kiss take center stage?
Since I loved ULS, the dead-fish kiss works for me tbh 😂 Because I feel like that’s such a TaeJoon thing as he’s such a private person. And WonYoong is always so flustered when he’s with Sajangnim so ofcourse he wouldn’t lead the kiss. My imagination makes up for all the shenanigans they get up to behind closed doors 😁
Hmmm, this was quite good, but those annoying characters were too many and they distracted me. The most disappointing…
The “I’m being mean and leaving you to protect you” is actually a very real reaction to trauma not just on a mental level but also on an emotional and physical level. This is in reality how people who are dealing with depression and PTSD (amongst other mental illnesses) tend to deal with events that give them that sense of ‘de javu’. JaeWon doesn’t seem like he had reached anywhere in his healing journey despite all the therapy he had done and clearly did not have the tools to deal with the trauma of seeing JiHyun drown which took him straight back to feeling like how he did when his brother died. So when he pushed JiHyun away, to me it made a lot of sense. I’d have been surprised if he hadn’t tbh 🙂You can see how different he is when he finally realises that he can be with JiHyun AND deal with his issues too. And this only happens after there was some healing happening with JaeWon, or atleast the start of healing.
However, I do agree with your statement of how some of the side characters seemed to have been magically redeemed - TaeHyung and EunJi especially. I can understand how difficult it must be for JaeWon to suddenly cut them off after having known them for so long but to have those conversations that made it sound like JaeWon and JiHyun are saints and can forgive and forget seems a bit…unfulfilling. I’d have preferred no conversations at all. I felt a lack of closure there but choose to believe that JaeWon will eventually see how toxic they are and how detrimental they are to his healing and put up strong boundaries with them and this is why he told Yoon that he would only take care of people close to him from now on.
I really wish that they had shown a good therapist. Like someone who was telling JaeWon stuff that could actually help him and showing him tools to deal with his situation. That seemed like a loss to me as it was a good opportunity to show how therpay can actually help. The lady here seemed bored and fed up and made it sound like she kept JaeWon on only to get paid 😕
That was well done but I am not sure how to feel about ep10. It all seemed too good to be true especially for a drama that has been dealing with dark themes. I’ll need to ruminate on it and maybe watch the whole drama again to come to a conclusion. The most real thing about it for me was how JaeWon said that no matter what, they have to try their best meaning he knows that things won’t always be rainbows and unicorns but that he’s willing to put in the effort and that is what ultimately matters 😊
What I liked -
A) Getting an episode 10 as an epilogue!!!!! that rarely happens as it usually fades to black after the kiss with the assumption that its a HEA.
1) Ae-Ri as the supportive bestie. Her dialogues seemed too scripted at times with how perfect her words were but I appreciated what she was saying to JiHyun and how it made him think. 2) JaeWon seeing YoonWon break down. Somehow, it gave me the feeling that he took the therapist’s words to heart and it opened his eyes to the idea that other people might be suffering too. 3) The part-time shop ahjumma and her tough love. JaeWon got some sense knocked into him, literally with that spoon lol! 4) JaeWon and JoonPyo interactions. So damn cute! The cool sunbae and the admiring hoobae. 5) The clear conversations between JaeWon and JiHyun. So much of reassurance and validation. I love how confident JiHyun is in himself and how he was able to give JaeWon the space to think and come to realizations. The game he played at the end with the “2 steps backwards - 3 steps forward” was so meaningful to how he made it clear what he was willing to do in the relationship. 6) JaeWon saying he would now only take care of people who meant something to him/were close to him. This gives me hope that he will now draw boundaries with people like TaeHyung and EunJi and not allow them the same access to his life as before. 7) JaeWon posting his photos on his secret account. Again, such a hopeful discovery. I wish he continues following his dream.
I wish there was some mention of how JaeWon would deal with his dad and his expectations for him and I am hoping there’s a season 2 😏 I’d also love to meet JiHyun’s mum and sister and see how they react to JaeWon and vice versa.
All in all, such a fantastic ride. I shall definitely recommend this to friends and watch it once again in one stretch to see what else I can discover. 😀😀

“Excuse me while I go into my room and extract a test tube of my heart blood. “ What a way to get rid of unwanted guests!
“I am in love with you so keep your handsome face away from my sight cos you make my heart flutter!”
