I'm only at episode 2, but does the character of Chen Shi get any less brainless? I'm okay with a bit of silly/comedic…
Hey soryuu, glad to see you in here too. I was planing to watch this but but the first episode didnt rope me in. Can you tell me after watching a few more episode is it worth the time?
It felt like 20 writers were writing parts of the story without ever communicating between them, and then they…
it could also be they started to write but procrastinated so in the second half the last day of the draft, they cracked some energy drink and wrote the first thing that came to their mind just to be done with it
hello guys it's been a while. still clowning? I'm coming here from the "Fighting for Love" drama page. I haven't read the original book that was adapted from that drama, yet it seems like a lot of changes have been made. There were people in the comments that have read the story and talked about what kind of changes the writers had made. Personally, I hated the changes. I was wondering if a similar thing happened with immortality, a lot of small and big changes, would you guys still love it? would you accept a fanfiction version of dumb husky and his white cat shizun as a drama?
hellooo fellow dianxia pfp!! thnx for the cmt lol. I was abt to see if the ml had any development. Ahhhh why does…
hi there🤗 the drama is great as long as you watch the parts with ML with your eyes closed. Idk why we can't have 2 great leads, a good story, and a good budget in a drama, something is always off😭
Although I agree ML's personality may not be the cup of tea of many, the problem for me it's not his personality,…
I don’t agree with your statement that believing stories should be about some sort of journey and should have fairytale endings is a bad thing. yes, there is a group of people that will downvote dramas purely on BE endings but this doesn't mean this is what happening to this drama. I didn’t read the original material so I don’t know if this problem stems from the book or the script writing but ML is too poorly written. He is too inconsistent. For the storytelling wise we should root for him, he's tried to be told as the golden boy, the 'good guy' as he’s the late crown prince's son etc, yet whenever he is tried to be shown as a good character it stays lacking. Even though the Tang guy and YuQing have a lot less screen time, they showed their good and bad parts more meaningfully than the ML. Hell, the battalion friends showed better development than ML. Also, the show that is produced needs to play to the fantasies of viewers or have good storytelling to save the show to appeal to the masses. A lot of dramas even if they don't have a classic HE ending or have a downright BE ending still loved dearly by fans. The difference between them and this is that they show an extraordinary story with interesting characters. No one wants to watch a normal person for 36 hours straight, especially if he doesn't grow, change, or add something meaningful to a story. There are only 14 episodes left and I don't think Shang Yi Zhi character really salvageable anymore. The drama is great, characters are great(except ML), but for a better and more enjoyable drama I wished they would give a better ML and not an 'good' ML that is forced fed to us
Watching 'Fighting for Love' and I can't believe that scene! ML's lack of reaction to the shooting is just mind-boggling.…
I think they did it to show no one is really good or bad but they forget to put the part he was good. whole series he was just lacking so things that put on the show to show that he is good was superficial and actually lack the 'good ' part.
Someone said that Amei resigns from the army and leaves the city - and it is something that is said in the trailers,…
I don’t t remember the trailer but I'm gonna definitely check it up now :D I love Chinese historical dramas, they have really different themes than Western historical series, they also can add wuxia or xianxia and show mythological parts easily. Yet they always dwell on the same topic, go with clichés, and stay superficial. Every year there is usually only 1, maybe 2 historical dramas with a solid script, budget, and actors. I thought this could be a good one too.
why cdramas why? They almost always lack in some aspect. FL, pace, amnesia plot, or rarely ML lacks in most cdramas. In this one, we finally have a kick-ass FL, goes with a good pace, and still no stupid amnesia plot or anything, yet we have an ML with the character of stale bread and the intelligence of a 3-year-old. Inadequate and underqualified is not enough to explain him. There are other dramas that contain underqualified ML's in some aspects, like not being good in fighting or in politics yet they have some other redeeming qualities. Even side characters have better character development than him. ML-FL romance seems so forced with terrible writing. SML is so well written and played greatly that it is surprising ML can be written this poorly. I'm not throwing stones at the actor, probably script forces him. I ship FL with anyone except ML. I hope they don't end up together. Though knowing cdramas they probably make SML do something out of character in this second half and somehow ML will be great savior etc and FL will end up with him. I didn't read the book as I don't know Mandarin and auto-translate versions are terrible, someone who read it spoil the ending for me?
I have been here on this comment section for two months now, and today, I saw so many unfamiliar usernames commenting…
Nope, no news as far as I know. There is a lot more of people out there waiting for this show than the usual commenters in here. I personally check once a week for updates, and rarely comment😅
guys, do you remember that old internet joke that goes like, there was a guy that hired and on the first day of his job, he fixes something that was bothering him as a consumer and then resigns immediately? Not to give you guys ideas but at this point, someone should take one for the team and enter Tencent
