I didnt thought I would like this drama as much as I do now. Definitely not a 10/10 but a solid drama. Normally, the dramas that focus on just cultivation can be a bit hard to watch but I dont feel l'm bored with this one. It shows the calm and collected way of cultivation as director/writer imagined and not the usual fast-paced, angst-filled fighting scenes or training scenes.

I know the original version has some love interest with NGW and also some harem aspect but not having the romantic or harem aspect in the drama is nice.

Characters are consistent on their characteristics and behaviours, someone that is said to be smart and collected does not do stupid stuff to progress the script. (I'm looking at you TWD, you are airing in the same time but you screw up)

Overall if this keeps up it is a 8.5 or 9 show for me. But I also understand it is not everyone's cup of tea

I dont think there will be a part 2 as when they cut a drama in 2 part, they make the first part at least 36-38 ep and last part way shorter. so I think this will be an only 1 part drama

you put my feelings about this drama into the word very greatly. Also except ML, even thought the others should be also be clever people, they act so stupid from time to time and fall into traps or make mistakes that they shouldnt and screenwriters use this mistakes to make progress with the script instead of good clever writing. It feels lazy and not well thought of. This is probably the reason many people compare this drama with Coroner's Diary, as both are about solving cases with supposed to be clever charachters, who got accused of something they didn't do, and need to prove their innocence. This could be a 9 or 10 but writing makes it 7 or 8 if I'm feeling generous unfortunately

yes I realized too, for the last few years they added this express stuff(not only youku) and lenghten the normal paid vip schedule. I might have been remembering wrong but they didnt had express on a few dramas, so that was why I was asking
