yes , it was intriguing to see 2 morally grey characters. LJX definitely was not morally worse than LSY and at least he was not in love with her when she was 10 years old... I know people who write mean comments about him here only judging according to the drama but as a novel reader I can't separate the book and drama so it saddens me

definitely read the novel... you may be traumatised by LJX's ending but it shows a lot more LJX and his thoughts/feelings. They cleaned LSY's character a lot in the drama, also in the dramas people tend to like MLs more as they think they're the end game, so now everyone likes LSY and hates LJX but LJX is a great character💕

LJX must be older than that they say their 30s but not specific. in the first life he was 3 years older than Yinning. Yinning died at 17-18yo. than the events took place 14years after her first death so, 14+3+17or16= 33-34yo

no there is no situation in the novel that LSY aims a sword to Yinning. Maybe an editing trick to make the story more angsty?

depends on what you mean by awkward. They don't have a romantic relationship and hardly a mother/son relationship. Lin Hairu respects Luo ShenYuan's success and how he can tame concubine Qiao and his father. But after learning LSY has feelings for Yinning she grows distant and tries to prevent him, as when LSY and Yinning married Yinning is 14 and LSY is 22

yeah I was soooo sad with LJX's ending, he is not the villian, not more than LSY...Glad that there are also other readers/watchers that find LJX pitiful and root for him💕

also one of the reasons that LSY could easily oppose LJX was that he was already a prominent figure, that would raise voices if taken down. They don't show in the drama, but LJX is second to the emperor in terms of power, who can easily kill/hurt a mere noble boy. Also without her real father Wei's support, she is also very very defenseless

It is hard to say. Drama goes on its own accord, events that never happened in the book happens in the drama or the events that happened much later in the book are already happened in the drama, tho differently. I think the statue of the Yining which comes from her real father is important for the storyline but at 18th episode they already made LJX learn about her, without her real father existing in the story, so maybe we will not see the real father, ever.

In the end of the book lin mao was still not married to anyone so maybe they will make a Yuxiu/han zhao couple in the drama?

what happened at the end of episode 18, was how Lu JiaXue discovers she is her wife. It played out differently than the book but the most important part is that ShenYuan still holds no power. So how will he save Yinning? I had expected the real father to show up before these scenes played out.
