They are both wrong but I really do think this FIGHT is necessary for this relationship.I love this pairing but…
Yes. That was very logical. Well said. The Cdrama writers try to sugarcoat stuff and love their rich men but it always makes me cringe whenever they make the guys appear dumb in love and the women just lap it up. I am actually happy they stayed through to their characters. Li Xing as a character has been incredibly naive. She has always been very clever but her emotional and personal ethics are not or is not ruthless enough. All that caring for the masses etc. That is a luxury you can afford when you're at the top and not when you're struggling to thrive and survive every day.
We have seen enough loose lip talk in other dramas. I guess this is covered under pillow talk. However obtaining information via pillow talk in dramas has made me cringe each time.
A good scene is a good scene no matter whether its a sad or romantic scene. I enjoyed that confrontation. Nothing like letting everything rip apart and hearts rip into shreds. Pain, blood and gore. Love it.
The bonus was that Li Li had her scene too. I really don't know how this would end.
What do you mean by saying this is not a business drama, half of the show was about them starting a business and…
Ah. Now your post makes sense.
As you know EVERYTHING is made in China. My friend's conpany is based in Scandinavia.
However medical products are coming in from China. Its true though that I wasn't putting my thinking cap on. I was literally just watching but not really concentrating. I am pretty sure though that the hypothesised study outline I just made up could be feasible because it seemed based on the clues.
I wasn't kidding when I said I was zoning out. That was me zoning out because when I am concentrating I do concentrate. I forgot to mention back in the days when I had more free time I helped in Korean medical and legal dramas subbing. So I know how " heavy " the technical lines shoud be or how often it appears. I don't like business dramas as much because its boring and technical and specific to the xyz industry. So I wasn't " hearing " as much technical jargon either medical- zero actually besides the one random " skeletal, interbody. " I understand more Korean than Mandarin but I have dabbled in Mandarin subbibg before but only every day conversations.
Anyway.... the Olympics startsď next weekend? I know this is a China station but I still expect it to drop an express story.
Funny story, something broke down several months ago and someone asked me to contact this email. I don’t normally do that since we have people who did it. I was a bit shocked that the supoort centre was in China and I was emailing after my work hours because of the time differences. It got sorted out eventually because they finally referred the matter to another sub- contractor in another state in my country.
I don't say it and I won't say which country I'm in but your lives are dependent on China made equipment. Yes there are European made ones but yeah China. Cheaper. And they are able to churn out bigger amounts. Although having said that there are currently worldwide shortages on some pretty critical items. I was actually a bit shocked since I was told it was going to last 3 months.
So customising an artificial implant based on individual patients? Gotta say it would only work or should only work in China. I presume that they would have done a 3D MRI reconstruction to see the implants measurements.
See? This is when I think and then when I am not- when I watch dramas I was thinking that Li Li has some guts. She made her stand and stood her ground. I mean she could be patient and see how it goes for a few years if she likes him that much.
What do you mean by saying this is not a business drama, half of the show was about them starting a business and…
The show did a very perfunctory show of them meeting investors. Its just them. Then Su did depend on a senior to get the machine. The show did not show why Su was interested in starting a business or in any competition.
They had a very small core team. She did programming for robotics. Then she suddenly became an expert in the intervetebral replacement. That's orthopaedic. I have no idea why that is under smart healthcare. I understand about Xiao Huang in Han Ting's business. I presume the skeletal or joint replacement business niche market they are doing is all because SOMEONE in their company is both good in design and customising the part. This is clearly very much a China or city specific trial.
They have no capital- plot device is Han Ting. Can't work out the programming skills from her and Su to the joint replacements design.
No one with HR experience so there is no HR talk except the couple of interviews scenes.
Some really, really short keynote speaker role for Han Ting and Ji Xing.
This is the trend I see on Cdrama. Medical technology- have seen a few.
There are hardly any medical device companies with such a small R& D team.
The founders have hardly any industry contacts. Its city specific. She won a national contest in University.
I can't even freaking figure out what freaking business speak there is besides Han Ting dropping words of wisdom. China only conferences- I presume its only China vs international conference.
Single hospital study- how many laminectomy/ intervetebral disc replacement can one hospital do? I presume they will need to do over 50 before they can publish it.
So yeah- discussions about how the medical equipment company came about. How Han Ting operates his subsidiaries instead of just acquiring companies. Then the drama claims that at least 2 other companies under him had made technological breakthrough. The Ganghua, his own in Germany and then the other one in Ep 28.
Its just drinks and games talk for negotiation. Some company dinners. 2 small conferences. Maybe a show of them meeting under 5 investors.
Some token politicking amongst the board members? Only 2 rivals. His sister and the other guy. One city. Plus Germany.
Do you see the business tension? Nah. The stakes are not take high.
If you want to say this show has the female lead starting a business and the male lead happens to be the backer and how their relationship evolves and how they end up being a stronger couple and bringing the wind of change in advancing medical technology etc etc then sure its that.
If you want to say this is a business drama where we see how the medical technologies companies are advancing, showing the change in industry and how companies succeed because the entrepreneurs starting it are smart, motivated, have good business sense to advance their ideas? That the show shows how the industry advances bringing China to the forefront - sorry been watching too many of these sort of dramas on Cdramas- and advance to the world stage?
Then nah- this drama does not delve into a medical company. There is zilch detail except for the 1st couple of episodes, the 3D printer, the study tour in Germany. I swear when I saw the swirling the purple liquid in the beaker I laughed.
Some of you have attended conferences before? Have you seen what they are like especially if you're the key speaker?
Look I am totally fine watching this drama and enjoying it. Calling it a business drama vs a romance? Lol.
This is a romance drama with some medical technology CEO as the male lead. The FL has a company manufacturing joint replacments. How you plan to customise to cater to a large market? I don't know. 50 is a super small number. I mean its ok for a hospital but you need multi- center studies. Hers is barely enough for her to get published.
Either way you must feel more strongly than I do about calling it a business drama. I've long ago just accepted it as a romance drama and they tried to make it sound stressful being in this industry. Who the hell goes and does this and have the excuse of being naive and with zero business sense. The last time I read this it was all the online social media companies. Companies making medical devices are not started by dreamers. A decade of so ago but now... with so many extablished companies? Coincidentally one of my friends sell medical robots to hospitals internationally. I've been involved in medical studies and trials for a long time. I read research articles all the timee and we check the number of subjects vs how large scales and factors involve. Its a joint replacment right? I spent maybe a few evenings wondering what they mean by customizing vs having a series of sizes. It was just 2 plates and screws and one joint. Was the show talking about surgery for scoliosis? I didn't even hear the word mentioned? I can only guess it as the one and only subject is young and I presume hhad mobility issues. I haven't read up as much about how surgery for people with scoliosis have progressed.
Geez. Now you make me think. I was really thinking when I was watching this drama. I was doing it to relax.
Now did I miss the part where Ji Xing had Yi Chen's enrol patients for spinal fusion with customising the artificial implant using a 3D printer. Then the surgeon does the implant, screws and plates. Enrol 50 patients and follow up over either a 3 to 6 month period to hypothesis if customizing an implant makes for faster rehab or to increase the degree of mobility post surgery. You need to show more than 1 patient. And that was only to advance the plot point.
Now that I understand. All this talk about her company focusing on the skeletal system based on I don't see in the drama R&D team. And then XiaoHuang and the Ganghua robotics advancing.
Those sort of lingo will make me think this is a medical drama with some promise. Add on how you need busines smarts to run a medical company. So did Han Ting do a science post graduate or he did a MBA to be so smart? The Xiao Meng her bestie is 22. How old is Ji Xing?
Someone who read the script may be able to answer your question. Lili in the drama is completely diffirent from…
I meant in ep 27 and 28 which aired. Everyone is talking about the bed scene and business. No one has mentioned what happened after Li Li met Xiao YC's daughter. Or XiaoMeng with that Lu guy.
I am stopping at ep 26 until ep 35. I have been reading and reading and reading and its all the main lead.
Can someone spoil me with the Li Li story progression? I actually like this couple and also XiaoMeng. I wouldn't mind watching tbeir scenes. I'd skip the business and the main leads.
I've always thought Su was naive. I am noy even sure he has a Masters. God. I hope he does. I work in the science field where Masters is common and PhD is needed for R&D positions. Science start ups are not as easy as one thinks. The show just makes it so easy. Anyway I digressed because my main point is that Su is pretty much clueluess socially and has IQ but in no way or form has any clue about having a business capital or ongoing business plans. He is not even fit enough to be a team leader much less a VP. But this is a drama. And oh yeah MBAs are no jokes. The assignments alone should give someone a clue.
However this is not a business drama so I led all this idiotic fantasy slide.
So if anyone can tell me about Li Li I'd be grateful. I quite like Lu Jialou as well.
I think I’m one of the very few here that do not see her as this bad person. I mean, what did she do wrong exactly?…
This is not me wading into the Qiuzi debacle. This is me talking about real life BFF cheating with their girl's or guy's BFF or brother. The evidence is that the BFFs have things in common they like about each other or compatible personality traits so chances are that they might like the same sort of lovers. That's also why their lovers could be attracted to both BFF- and that's how affairs start.
Now the Chinese writers probably don't research that much so to them its another plot point.
However this comes to my mind when I see such plots. So it makes it sleazy to me. However I acknowledge personalities- wise those 2 are on the same wavelength and lifestyle provided that's what she wants and not her accomodating his needs.
So this analysis is beyond this drama. In this drama her underhanded or unethical behaviour as a bestie has put me off the romance. I am not ANGRY enough to spew profanities in CAPITAL LETTERS like someone here. I just don't care and just go meh at their scenes.
Can someone post in spoilers what XYC's secret is please? I am on ep 18 now from ep 9 but have already watched ep 18-22.
I don't actually care so much about the Su guy. I think he's young, inexperienced and naive. The only thing good is that he is a graduate, hard working and the typical nice guy.
XYC is more my type. The Han Ting and Li Xing romance is pretty tepid at present. I like LLJ's personality.
I am just going to just watch ep 23- 31 this Monday and Fri but am doing other things. I am not particularly addicted to this drama so whatever secret he holds won't devastate me. He's a good friend to Han Ting and so as long as that friendship remains I am satisfied.
Whether Li Li remains single or not in ep 40 is not important to me. She is a resilient character. If her guys turns out to be a douchebag she can take care of herself. I actually would rather she remains single then get saddled with Su who should be concentrating on his career anyway since he is new to the workforce. And stop messing around with a talented marketing director. He needs looking after and some women find it hot to have the younger man- older woman romance but I don't care either way as long as it makes sense. Being a nice guy is not a good enough reason why he is compatible with Li Li. She is way more emotionally mature than him anyway.
I have a comment on Han Ting. I don't know if i'm the only one, i can't help but be afraid every time he opens…
She's a smart cookie. She always gets the message from those short sentences. Well he lives in the corporate world full of sharks. I don't see why he has to be soft and caring.
I would also say she was inexperienced. She has a Science Masters, no admin experience or business experience, did not confirm the other person Su has concrete finance before starting a new company. I was kinda freaked out at her inexperience. She only had 400 000 and even she would know you have to be able to survive a year or more on savings before turning a profit.
I am more amazed Han Ting didn't nag her more than he did. Luckily he is a man of few words.
Disadvantages? They are equalising now in terms of business sense, her company's products so she will present as a viable marriage prospects. She has her own confidence in her programming skills. Its not as if she is like an uneducated country girl who only finished high school. We have plenty of those in other dramas.
She is educated, has supportive parents, good friends and business success. I don't see why she is at a disadvantage. There are not that many nouveau riche female CEOs running around in any Cdrama. She is already a superb catch.
I do not understand why the male lead likes her to be honest, everytime they are together she is being immature,…
Lol. You analysed. Most Kdramas do not fare well if they are taken apart and dissected.
I've made my peace with it provided it's not way out ridiculous. I was actually having issues with the in- your- face parents. Or the fact that she spent 7 years studying for one job. I understand that she lives in a small town but this level of stubbornness does not bode well between 2 strong personalities.
Her moodiness? In another drama it will be depression.
So yeah it doesn't pay to be logical while watching a kdrama.
If you think this is bad you will probably throw something at the TV when they solve the magical cat issue.
Were Qiuzi and Yichen planning to show up at the birthday dinner, and announce their relationship to Xing, Lili…
Nope. They were. It would not have been appropriate on her birthday anyway.
The issue here is the secrecy. She never planned to let her friends know. He is the ex. He doesn't need to call her out of the blue to tell Li Xing. The whole issue is the friendship between the 4 of them being at risk. If she has made the choice to pursue him she could at least tell Li Xing she was interested but she never did.
Even I felt that it was inappropriate that the ex- boyfriend and her bestie bougnt her birthday cake.
Everything was just so underhanded. She was doing no one a favour. If Li Xing ever found out she lent YC money before they broke up it would be even worse.
I had 10% sympathy for Qiuzi until tonight. You wanted your best friend's man. You went onto him whihe is on the rebound. Yet have no guts to admit you went first?
Why does he need to defend you? She is the person who latched on the guy without giving him space and totally devoted your free time to him.
We have seen enough loose lip talk in other dramas. I guess this is covered under pillow talk. However obtaining information via pillow talk in dramas has made me cringe each time.

Ah well we all know about the divorce rates amongst the rich chaebols in S Korea when they marry an ordinary woman. Howevee this is a drama.
