Did the novel ever say what happened to Meng Xiao Dong and Lin Lin? I am more interested in that couple. I am surprised JY's son and marriage suddenly popped up in the ending.

Fine fine. I will amend but that person was in like very few scenes. Did you see the death count in " A journey to love." It was horrendous. And if I see another tsundere or badly written prosopragnosia I would scream.

Plus the female lead is actually ambitious, successful in her career and has good female friends.

I am rewatching the drama. Which episode was it again that everyone thinks they slept together? The kissing is very restrained. I don't recall any of those time of scenes or fade out.

I think I know which dramas you're talking about and I have zero interest in those dramas. Its got to be good acting, writing and a plot I like that makes me watch any drama.

I support legal sites almost all the time. And with the viki subscription its easier for me to watch without all the pop ups. Even with AdBlocker on for me.

Did we watch the same episodes? The ending for Lin Lin is that we didn't know what happened.

Well I am on epsiode 17 on viki and its only up to ep 22 now.

I guess I could watch it again until this Sunday night. I might have missed something watching 8 episodes at once

Also, I was reading the reviews especially the dropped ones. That's why in life and in dramas- their loss my gain.

I can honestly say this is one rare drama where I actually fell for the secondary characters and their friendships.

I truly hope the actors had a good time overseas hanging out together. I have several dramas now to catch up as I like Wu Wei a lot and need to go rewatch Meng Xiao Dong or the actor's previous work now. I am not even going to rewatch a Wu Lei or Zhao Jin Mai drama. This has been one of their best roles.

Wu Lei has acted in many dramas and has been great but I wanted a romance drama and I am not going to watch him act in a drama where he is suffering. So no.


I am going to warch the others. I know I will be disappinted as I haven't actually liked their other dramas as much. So yeah might have to rewatch ep 28-30 before I move on. The characters have really surprised me. Yin Guo's mother. Meng Xiao Dong. And Wu Wei.

I woke up this morning for episodes 27- 30. It did not disappoint

That drama has one of the best photoshoot for a wedding photoshoot I've seen in a drama and in real life. I was awestruck especially since I'm an overseas born Chinese who will never visit that place I've only heard of in history books.

I laughed at episode 26's cliffhanger. I really did. Its like I was waiting for the climax of the birthday cake and blowing out the candles.

Instead I went to the wrong party and its already over.

The party poppers went off alreadt and I've missed it. I had to do an analogy to avoid the apoilers.

Onto epsiode 27 now. It made me laugh though at myself. 26 episodes in and it remains a solid drama.

The synopsis pretty much says it all. We are just reaching the China part.

I would watch this because the plot is there, the acting is great and the secondary characters are all main or strong second male leads in other dramas.

I will recommend this because the male lead can act obviously but because the personality is more apealing to me. I have watched the other dramas. I also think the Finland filming made for a different vibe.

And I am normally a very grumpy poster on MDL who will and have complained about bad acting, writing and irritating secondary characters because the writer made them into clownish characters sometimes. I am kinda in love with the interactions in this drama instead. The interactions here are extremely natural and the chemistry between them and the main leads are one of the major reasons I'm recommending it. I really, really dislike time wasting in a drama. This has not happened to me so far. I have skipped and fast forward in the other 3 dramas.

Yeah but she slows it down. Significantly.

Man I'd rewatch this drama just for the 9 ball and snookers scenes. Wu Lei is at the correct age where he is a man but still retaining the youth vibe. A few more years and he'll look mature. A few years previously and he was still so young.

The guys are at the correct age to be like they are in the correct agefor elite sportsmanship. By the way I don't watch or play billiards.

Never! I want the slow suffering romance.

Hah! That was my intention too. It failed. However I saw the previews for ep 19 and 20 yesterday. That serves as a clue.

Those 2 with their intense eye stares.

Lin Yi Yang and Meng Xiao Dong are too intense when they meet. They lock gazes and have this low tones.

I don't even watch BL dramas but I confess to feeling chemistry between those men. Are they friends in real life?

You can just ignore it and I have done so.

However sometimes I watch a drama which has an electrifying chemistry but the side characters are terible. Or a story that is great but the casting or one of the main actors is terrible.

So you can't drop it but suffer through it. However I also depend on viewers to state what the exact issues are so I'd know whether to drop it or not.


I have sometimes whined about the translations because bad translations can make some really great meaningful line sound trite and diluted/mundane. The poetry of the moment is lost.

So yeah its not so easy to just not talk and drop it. I have dropped some dramas quietly before but its when I drop a drama which I've anticipated that makes me whine or critique it. I actually like to know the exact issues with some dramas and that helps me decide to either drop it or not start it.

The novel is not translated right?

Oh well at least we have to be satisfied they did go all the way even its sanitised in the drama

I moved overseas when I was 18. I was naive, dumb and knew nothing. I was on an allowance and had to budget. It was so hard. Who has time to think of boys then?

Yin Guo was participating in her first adult tournament and she has this intense guy pursuing after her. Its lucky she had the discipline to continue her daily practice

We all know how fluffy and disorganised some female
leads are in Cdramas. Thank goodness she is not written
as a dumb as bricks female lead like so many others.

Then I moved to another country for further studies yet again in my late 20s and I was still dumb because the culture was so diffirent.

People need to give her a break. She did very well going to a country with a different language and she also needed to take public transport and speak more English.

Its hard adjusting place to place. I have moved jobs in 3 different countries, cities and states. Its really hard adjusting languages too.

I think so. Continue watching to see him fall for her.

Gosh. He is pretty intense. And oh yes there are no screeching females or idiotic bosses or CEO nonsense.

And it kinds of reminds me of my youth when I was overseas by myself and all of us building our own little community. The Chinese expat community interactions are very heartwarming.
