I can cook all the dishes he did for episode 5 by the way. So I am just saying that's a freaking lot of banchan.…
I wasn't paying that much attention. Sorry- but I use the Korean names because its easier to use find recipes in Korean if you need it. I will list what I remember then will go back and check one by one.
Bulgulgi. Doenjang jjigae. Hobak jeon with sliced chili, yeongeun jorim. gongnamul muchim, japchae, gamja bukkeum. I am unsure if I am seeing the quail eggs that comes with jangjorim. Its called machurial jorim. Then I can't see the green properly to see if its bok choy muchim with doenjang. The dubu/tofu looks like a muchim with nyangnyeomjang.
The dishes are all doable except who the heck has time to cook so many? I'll be back to confirm each dish. Have you cooked any of them before? None of them are complicated. Just a bit time consuming. People would buy it from the banchan shops normally.
The ingredients are all basic Korean pantry seasoning. The only thing with bulgulgi is that if you don't use pear juice you can use pineapple juices. I actually cook more dubu jorim then his pan fried tofu with the sauce on top. But yeah all the dishes are common every day dishes.
I think I have never met a stage play in a historical drama before. I was literally gobsmacked wondering what were the actors thoughts. That was ep 36.
I had to pause at ep 37 when the King made the PM wait. I was so furious that I needed to come read the spoilers as I needed to know what happens in ep 40.

I can cook all the dishes he did for episode 5 by the way. So I am just saying that's a freaking lot of banchan. MAN. And all I was planning to cook for the kids were galbijjim, sukju namul amd kimchi.
So yeah boy I'd fall for a guy who can cook so much.
Gosh this slow burn mature romance is hitting all the right notes.
I might even be feeling gushy. Which is so unlike me.
Han Ji Min might even be better at humour than a straight romance. I am so very happy Lee Joon Hyuk is the male lead. He has always acted so well and I am thrilled he will get the girl.
I stopped at ep 16 for various reasons. However it is hard to even follow. I am about to restart but you comment…
Its ok. Its a guest role. I meant the character. I still haven't decided if I want to continue yet from ep 17. I have too much unfinished real life work and school holidays. I have decided to pare it down to Flourished Peony and Love Scout only.
I stopped at ep 16 for various reasons. However it is hard to even follow. I am about to restart but you comment is making me crazy with curiosity. Who is this?
Delivery. The delivery and vibes are different. I actually don't bother comparing it. The pacing which is led…
I watched Brocade Odyssey you know and I dropped it. The vibe and storyteling was totally different. Its not the actress since I've rewatched one of her dramas over 10 times. And there is another where I thought it was superb. It was the writing each time. If the acting is good, the chemistry is there and the writing is great- that's totally it. Then it's the director that will make me drop dramas.
Anyway I did say I will come back post ep 20; I'm off to continue on ebook this morning.
I've made a decision to marathon ep 12-20 once they are out. And binge in 10 episodes at a go. Its bit torturous waiting when the episodes pass so pleasantly. I don't like halting the momentum.
I feel a bit sad though that I can't read the spoilers because this story is one tiny moment after another so the anticipation is essential to the enjoyment.
Sigh. Some dramas needs to be watched in multiple episodes but its tough.
This drama has so much similarities to Brocade oddesy-Fl's Ex being obsessed with her-Fl trying to make a name…

The pacing which is led by the director and scriptwriter here is petty smooth. That's why I am enjoying it. The cinematography in this drama is superb. I am usually disappointed in the crowd scenes and the secondary characters. Here the crowd is big enough, the ground dirty enough and the make up is excellent. The one stand out in this drama is that every crowd person and secondary minor character for the single scene or recurring scene has been well casted. Their scenes have been so smooth.
I actually read science fiction and fantasy. I also keep collections by the same authors. I have 20-40 books each by about 5 authors. Then maybe another 5- 15 books by another 30 authors. Do they write that differently? Some don't. And some of their different series have the same themes. Do I enjoy each series? Yes I do. They are similar yet totally different. Its the story specific to the series and time frames. I enioy each story on their own merit.
That's why I don't usually compare actors and stories. However if the story or acting is bad; that's when I usually drop a drama. The directing and camera work plays a huge part in my decisions. Some directors are ponderous and prefer a certain style or lighting. This drama is hitting all the right notes.
Its getting all my tick boxes. What will make me drop it will be the storytelling for this drama. Its only on ep 13 so I will see what happens. One of my KPI is the scene transitions. They are smooth, logical and continues the plot lines. I am more picky than you think. I go through over several hundred books a year. My job requires me to analysis things logically. I literally can't see tbe attraction of comparing. I've seen in the other dramas too.
You like it. Then watch it. If you don't then don't watch. I do it all the time. It doesn't bother me to stop halfway or distresses me about it. Plenty of other dramas to go around.
In this case the costumes and set up alone is enough to make me stay. The directing is playing a huge part. The casting and also chemistry is. Not the main couple but all the friendship pairing. One of my recurring gripes is the bodyguard trope. The bodyguard dynamics is sometimes unequal or too much dominance or obliviousness. The pairing here is healthy. The relationship between the FL and Shengyi is extremely watchable. Again the casting and chemistry is so good.
Wy don't you watch and be patient? Why wy wy?

Yes I am. I am feeling all warm and fuzzy now.
The subtitles and the actor speaking are completely unrelated issues.
How is an actor having a voice dub gotta do with AI English subtitles?
They as in who has an accent. Don't they all have a standard Mandarin accent? Only Dylan has a lisp.
How much has been filmed?
