I was trying to know why Meiren said 'Stewed beef brisket, isn't it a scumbag?' Found out that beef brisket loses…
It's a homophone or pun on the mandarin words. "Beef that has been chopped into bits (渣) can be equated with scumbag man (渣男)." This is my loose translations of what she said. The character for bits is the same character in the phrase scumbag man.

you're telling me i have to wait till next week to watch them make up? T_T (in the raws)
It looks like in the next few episodes (trailers 21-23) ZY decides to come back because of MR though. So at least we get to look forwards to ZY's EQ development and my guess is it will be his turn to start pursuing her for real next week :)

Yes the show really doesn't reveal the healthy side to dating with proper boundaries and respect towards the respective individual your interested in. Like even the secondary couple is premised on the lie that he's been crippled so as to trick Tiantian into going out on a date with him. and looking at his past track record (it's implied he's a womaniser that uses the fl as a means to get rid of his exes when he is no longer interested) hmm emotionally twisted much :/

I know. The storyline tries to create circumstances to explain her contact with him, like at first it's because she wants revenge for his callousness towards her in college (which he doesn't remember) and then it's the contract with the beauty company. However the first one to me is problematic as it's just such a mean and petty reason to try and get a guy to fall for her just to break his heart (it's like the movie how to get rid of a guy in 10 days - although at least in the movie both parties have their own bets/agendas). Although I agree that the ML certainly should apologise for his past actions - because not only did he stand her up, he essentially called her uninteresting and ugly behind her back, which she unknowingly overhears after walking home in the rain and ending up in the cafeteria. His issues are more acceptable however when compared to the scripts characterisation of her stalking of him to get his attention. The second reason is more acceptable as it is her job on the line if she can't get him to work with her. I, honestly, didn't like the premises of the first few episodes. I laughed but found that her actions really didn't sit well with me. If they had skipped the entire first arc and just skipped to them accidentally meeting at the inn without all the stalker actions in the previous episodes this would have been a better show about empowering women to make the first move in a relationship. The ML though has huge EQ deficiencies in my opinion that have to be addressed haha

I agree that some actions of the FL did make me cringe, esp that trashcan scene but I have to point out that the…
Yes she chose to work with President Wang's brand but I wouldn't say she knowingly entered into a contract with the brand expecting to give Wang sexual favours. Yes after the party she realises that he has intentions towards her but the contract was signed before the party between her parent company and Wang's. As she is under contract to represent Wang's brand she like anyone tries to rebuff him gently to show him she isn't interested. However, once her rebuffs are ignored and Wang's ugly personality as a man are revealed as he pressures her with his expectations to give him sexual favours in return for the contract, she ends her involvement with the brand. She couldn't have turned down the contract after finding out about Wang because she had already signed it. The only possibly after that was for her to terminate the contract, which it is interesting to note that she wasn't even obliged to pay the fee for ending the contract because Wang knows that if he required it she could bring about a suite against him for sexual harassment. The breach of contract would then be considered to have started with Wang.

Modern dramas seem to equate a forward woman that are trying to get the guy as being a stalker. It seems to be their easy way to push the fl and ml together (I had the same issue in You are my glory) *face palm and shaking head*.

Episode 4 made me realize Yu Meiren really did change career. Her parents thought she’s a still a teacher since…
Unfortunately, women in science face far more pressure than men. YMR definitely changed careers partly because of the pressure, but also because it's harder to earn lots of money in the field.

Im trying to enjoy this but they way they talk about dark skin is getting annoying. Meiren keeps talking about…
I think the point isn't necessarily whether she really has dark skin compared to those around her. It's just a way to show how self-conscious she is about her appearance without makeup. In asian cultures to be dark skin is considered to be unattractive, so her emphasis on her skin colour is a form of lacking self-confidence. For example being tan even would be considered dark skin in China as the standard for beauty is to be 'white'. *roll eyes* I wish this weren't the case, but westernising oneself in east asian cultures as a form of beauty, wealth, and status is honestly not new. This is just one of those superficial trends. I think, based on trailers, you will see that the ML will help her become more confident in her own skin without makeup. So I am definitely looking forward to that development.

As of ep 10 nope, he doesn't even remember that they had met in college.
yes but I'm not sure if he thinks that she lied to her family about getting a doctorate as she is lying about being a teacher.

Depends on which ending you choose to consider. The ending in ep 30 is open leaving whether they end up together…
Nope there's only 31 episodes in total, including the extra, on Chinese platforms. I haven't heard any news about any more episodes either.

After rewatching Love Between Fairy and Devil (for like a millionth time), I noticed that XLH finally falls in…
I don't think so, because at the point in the series, XLH doesn't really understand love and she does't truly know DFQC well. Furthermore she still had a huge crush on CH at that stage in the story, which she would adamantly tell DFQC. If you'll notice it's only after she saves DFQC from RH and CH that she no longer mentions that she loves CH. I'd say the turning point for her falling for DFQC is around ep 14 when she starts to regrow his heart/love tree and also as she begins to understand and empathise with the Moon Tribe thus better understanding his burden and sacrifice of being the ultimate weapon. The most telling moment is ep 15 were she puts on the emotion blocking hairpin. I think she subconsciously knows that there's something more than just friendship that she feels towards DFCQ thus she needs to hide her heart's feelings from him. This is further solidified when DFCQ saves her from Rong Hao's trick to fix the destiny leaflet. Also XLH basically said it, when DFCQ tried to take the hairpin, "You can't just casually enter my heart." Why? What's different now? hmmm ;)

Can someone explain Dylan's comment from the fan meeting where he said that only in the end does DFQC say "我回来了"…
It's a deliberate choice for him to use the term 我 because not only does it denote an intimacy but is also a reflection of their equal status as husband and wife. He sees her as someone he can let his guard down with and be himself truly. With her, he can set aside the trappings of being the all powerful Moon Tribe leader to simply be the man that loves XLH with all his heart.

Yes the surprising depth of character development for both ML and FL, not just focusing on one over the other, made the scenes between the two so much more emotionally well-rounded and heart-wrenchingly satisfying to watch! I keep being continually surprised by how much I cry every time I have rewatched this
