I've been waiting for this pairing for so very long, and love them each separately. Together, they are like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Absolute comfort food for me. I wonder if they don't want to overshadow another historical drama currently airing. They used the end of The Double to give the current one a piggy back ride...which is a very common marketing strategy. "If you liked that, you're going to love this..." sort of thing. IDK. I think...I HOPE once the distribution license is announced, the enthusiasm will skyrocket again.

I’m struggling with what to watch. Same regarding TPR although I loved the ML in The Kunning Palace. I decided to go back to K Dramas for a while. I just finished The Forbidden Marriage. That was hilarious! Awesome chemistry. I might be in K Drama land until TSOPG and LA are released.

Exactly. And, I do love flawed characters. Give me a story about adversity, perseverance, and redemption. Waiting for this is going to test my own perseverance, though. 😊

The climactic story arc in this series is going to test us. I think it’s okay to find some redeemable qualities in the main characters before making a judgement on whether to write them off. I don’t think this is a story of pick a side but a journey of growth and forgiveness.

Zhao Lusi has become my go to actress. I can’t even watch Hallmark romances anymore because she’s set the bar so high. There is a difference between a skin deep drama/performance and a bone deep drama/performance. In a single frame she can make me cry and fall in love. That’s bone deep. She also understands 3-dimensional characters and what it takes to create them. For me, there are only a few actresses who can do this. So, the petty and jealous can bring their obsessive hate (the delusional rants look ridiculous actually) for it will NEVER take away her amazing talent and insight.

Interesting to see two producers from Creation of The Gods on this project. I actually got to see this movie in theaters in the US back in October. Big screen and surround sound made this a phenomenal experience. I’m just so hyped for the future of this drama.

This makes a lot of sense. I visited Hollywood w/ a group for a college class. We went to the set of a film and watched a 5 second scene being filmed 10+ times. After it was released, I almost didn’t even recognize the scene we spent HOURS watching them film. The magic of film production.

TBH, there are so many BTS, I’ve decided to scroll through with one eye closed. Part of me still wants to retain the illusion of the drama. Loving the excitement and synergy of fans for the series, though. I’ve never followed one from booting to wrap party before.

Me moving between Love’s Ambition, The Story of Pearl Girl, and her fan page resembles a squirrel in rush hour traffic. Not at all complaining, though. 😊 This means no more drama drought 💃

This series reminds me of watching my mom bake a cake when I was little. The waiting to taste the finished product is going to be agonizing, but it’s going to be well worth it.
