I agree with your assessment. What’s driving the consensus that there won’t be more?. Like you, I get the sense by the way it was shot this was not a Sopranos cut to black “let the audience decide” ending but rather a cliffhanger, shot as if a season 2 pickup was in the bag. . Of course I’m still waiting for the continuation of Make Our Days Count” too. So what do I know? Though to be fair to myself, that History episode was littered with ambiguity And it took the Japanese to button thing up in that case .

Has the show been a commercial success? I hope so because that was not a low budget execution. It was a first class production. That would be my only concern because that was not an ambiguous ending It was pretty purposeful. The way the finale was shot implied the producers knew they’d be picked up for more in my opinion. Without getting into spoilers I can think of better ways of shooting the last scenes if the goal was letting people reach their own conclusions. This ending implied they’d be faithful to the full book series. And that the story continues At least that’s my opinion.

An uncut version Is that a thing? Because there was at least one plot moment that implied a much deeper relationship than they’d been letting on. You know. lip balm…(no spoilers requested. Just confirmation that there. Otherwise I fully accepted the nebulous Bromance / BL zone the show was occupying

I’ve hate-watched before. But this is more like Cringe-watch BL. It’s watching like two parked cars crashing into each other.

One other thing, there have been visual cues well prior to ep 12. Like, ep 8, after their big blowout when each discovered they were part of the same broken home, when the two male leads finally reconciled, they changed how they rode the bike in tandem. Arms now fully around the waist for the first time. There’s tons of little subtle clues

Honestly. that Will Bi line had the same impact on me as the legendary Ohm Nanon first kiss in Bad Buddy. Even though in this case, it was just a line of dialogue, it was so unexpected and joyful to hear those words. It brought what had been hinted at out into the open. That’s not brotherly love he’s expressing. It’s something else. I got that same king of spine tingling feeling of pure bliss.

Yup. It’s subtle compared to the other male lead character but the feelings are clearly mutual

Subtle but growing in intensity. Midway through the series one line of dialogue that pretty much sets its path as a Bl. Unlikely it will ever be overt but the evidence makes it unquestionably on the path of romance If you were satisfied with unspoken but obvious romantic love in the untamed, then this will do it for you. But I marked it spoiler in case you don’t really want to know

Yup. My words almost exactly when those words were said. I think I said ‘drop” to no one while sitting on a plane and got some looks. And Chinese speakers have even confirmed the translation based on other comments

You are smart It’s now officially agony for me to wait for the next batch of eps to drop, and I’m not usually like that with BLs because very few achieve this level of great. Do yourself a favor and avoid the comments if you can. I had very low expectations when I started watching. But not any more

The are doing such a good job building this relationship. We are really in Greatest of All Time territory as far as BLs go.

He also made that comment to himself in the hotel room not understanding a change that’s come over him. He really liked that girl last year, but something’s different

“He’s Mine”. That line should end the debate about whether this is BL or Bromance. I don’t think any BL drama has built a relationship with this much care and handling. What a treat this show is to watch.
