Have you ever considered being silent from spreading your negative feelings?Do you need attention? These are fan…
Are you serious? And it's laughable that you call the OP a tantrum.
You then bring up accusations such as narcissism and proclaim that an objective person would preface a critique like this with a disclaimer. Do you go around telling that to folks who do the same but with a positive review.
Get that weak s*** outta here. None of this crap needs to be hidden in spoilers either (that goes for the whole discussion).
Perhaps an "objective" person wouldn't also heap premature praise.
We don't live in a world made up mostly of provisional opinions and plenty of people also drop dramas after far less than 3-4 episodes. Clearly they've made judgments and moved onto something else. There is only so much time in the day.
Rating for episode 4 is 3.9 only down .1 from Monday. Last week Drama went from 4.5 to 3.6 so it has recovered…
I don't know if there is deep dislike for Rowoon here, but I don't see much of a correlation between viewing figures and drama quality. Sure, some great dramas get high viewership, but so do plenty of bad ones, and so too the inverse.
That Western orchestra was one of the most incongruous representations I've ever seen, beyond all these illegitimate Go and Chess game positions seen in dramas. Hilarious. But then again it's always like that... the live performed diegetic music is almost never matching up with the actions on screen.
I'm watching this after finishing Ming Lan, and it does everything worse in terms of direction, art, overall production, even general dialogue, acting, music (often a muddled mess thus far) … except for one thing... the STORY. Shows how important a great one is, because this is actually better than Ming Lan for now. Don't get me wrong, I highly recommend Ming Lan, but I'm just much more invested in Yanxi Palace, even though in myriad ways it also doesn't quite stack up to TSOML.
It's a really unique drama, but unfortunately 70+ episodes is still a lot. And the writer's imagination was ultimately…
I think immaculate framing in direction, excellent acting performances, and exquisitely composed dialogue drive this show ultimately much more than the story itself. Actually, it's the story that lets it down relatively speaking (it's still kinda sorta groovy though), and it's the limitations in the storytelling which lead to the repeated aspects. Just my view.
I have mixed feelings about this drama. It's beautiful, high production value. But the overall story is not all…
Cdramas and sound production issues. Name a more iconic duo. Nonetheless, this drama has some truly exquisite areas of production. It's so luscious and the cinematography is highly artistic.
This is beating Dong Yi down to the ground so far. The child to adult transition of Yi San is so believable, the traits crossing over with such force and growth, just like for the ML in Joy of Life. It beats the transitions in Jewel in the Palace, Dong Yi, Queen Seondeok or Six Flying Dragons by far.
Not sure how much of the soundtrack here is recycled but several tracks felt familiar without me being able to put my finger on it in ep.1 and then near the end a Jewel in the Palace track showed up. Nawwww man -- pony up your own music. Regardless, episode 1 has immediately compelled me to watch this drama.
2 years of waiting and youku doesn't even bothered for the cgi, dubbing and subs? WTH?? I was waiting patiently…
It does come across as careless at the least. Where's the effort...? Is it that hard to half-adequately synchronise the dub with one's mouth movements, I wonder...
Not really a fan of the first ML nor of the second ML…Except for “Word of Honor” the first ML always looks…
"Placid" describes the first ML perfectly. I could be ruder and suggest "insipid" but I'll at least give him a few eps. Yep, Ren Anle — (who Dilraba is portraying *really* well, undermined right now by a dub which isn't doing her justice, not because of the voice actress as such but sloppy post production audio-visual sync) — is a knockout character.
Not sure I've ever been so conflicted after watching 1 episode of a drama. There are things about episode 1 I LOVED, and plenty else to question. Ren Anle is a WOW!! character but is messily tainted by a shockingly unsynchronised dub which is almost as bad as for the FL in Ultimate Note. The ML has left me absolutely cold and has demonstrated to me no presence whatsoever. The plot to begin has brought me right in and immediately intrigued me, and the whole manner and vibe of this drama is VERY charming (again largely because of the character of Ren Anle). And yet the overall production looks very spotty. And finally, as typically underwhelmed as I am by the quality of OSTs, I actually LIKED what was on offer in episode 1 more than in recent viewings of TLPromise, or TBWhisper, or TTEOTM, though that has its moments. Real mixed bag here - Hah!

Dull stuff.
How do?
It seems there should be job openings here.
But let's see what's next...
