Usually the main lead, aka the guy who gets the girl, has a first billing. And then they are listed in order of their importance. That's an unspoken rule pretty much everywhere, including MDL. JC has the first billing after JE (i.e. the Main Character).

And that's not even discounting that he is only male cast member, apart from the FL, whose character name is listed. Why would producers realise the name of some secondary lead in a romcom with the FL?
(The only exception being that he is the most famous of the cast members and they need his fans to traffic the drama, which is not the case here)

Then u can always read the novel which didn't remove the bl part.

Oh please. The guy was convicted and banned in 2002 and it was lifted in 2021. He was banned for 20 years and had been working again for the past 3 years in some of the biggest dramas since. Why is this specific drama casting a problem??

I am not defending the rapist, I am just saying all these controversies seem like they are targetted to ruin the drama on purpose (or the producers are relying on negative publicity because the drama is garbage)

It's the soul of a 50yr old man in the body of a 17yr old, who romances the body's 17yr old classmate. I haven't read the OG so I dont know if the body has both souls - OG 17yr old and the 50yr old - or not, bit yhe fact remains that the person romancing the ML is a 50yr old man on a 17yr old body.

That said, that wasn't even the issue here because u can change the plot here and there when u adapt, as long as u don't change the whole thing and get rid of the core of the plot.

People have been hating on this drama since before the cast was even announced. Censored adaptation isn't an issue, issue is WHY it happened. It was also going to be slightly censored bromance because of the actors and the actual story is a love story between a near 50yr old man with a 19-yr old (in Korean age, so 17yrs irl).

But the mainstream idol fans of both leads took objection to even that, because they didn't want their idols to even pretend to be gay. So, the production bowed and got rid of even the bromance (or so they say, because we can't really be sure of anything until it airs). And that just pissed of the fans of the original novel.

I dont mind a censored adaptation as long as they don't straight-fy the MC and there's plenty of bromance/subtext. But not even bromance?? Get outta here

The actors and crew get paid regardless of the how the drama responds, unless they are being paid in profits (which is very rare). Boycotting a drama because of soem actor is fine, but it's not like the guy is a lead or anything.

No, you are right. They were pretty useless. They had way too social restrictions. But cross-dressing isn't limited to dramas. Even in real life women pretended to be men (either borrowing their husband's or brother/father's name) or straight up cross-dressing/pseudonym. For eg, The Bronte Sisters initially published as Bell Brothers, Mary Ann Evans was George Eliot...u get the idea.

Please. These so-called victims only crawl out when the bully - a celeb who has struggled for years - gets a lucky break. If they were so traumatized, why not go after them when they were strugglers. Why only after they became famous. And this alleged victim doesn't even live in Korea. Did she watch some kdrama and get war flashbacks 20 yrs later? Would she have taken the incident to the grave if the actress never became famous? Please.

Peach of Time is more about learning to cope and let go. Peach, a thai guy, meets this Korean tourist, Yoon Oh, at his family's resort and they bond over the fact that Yoon Oh's family also runs a holiday resort back in Korea. Eventually, Yoon Oh returns to his home. About a year? later, Peach decides to visit him, but Yoon Oh's resort is pretty much abandoned and he doesn't really have a good relationship with his workaholic single mom who treats him like he is nonexistent. The only person there is a shady caretaker, who basically looks like he is stuck in the 40s or something. They just spent days chilling and stuff until one day (about halfway through the series) Peach gets the shock of his life that Yoon Oh isn't really alive. I don't remember if he had an accident or unalived himself, but mom knew obviously and she was letting Peach stick around because she regretted not giving Yoon Oh enough time when he was
alive. Yoon Oh, himself, had no idea. The rest of the drama is about coping with grief and moving on etc.

I dont remember if the shady caretaker is either a grim reaper or another ghost/Yoon Oh's ancestor, but he was there to help Yoon Oh accept his death.

Why bring Gulf into this? They were costars ages ago, nothing more. Whatever you assume of their offscreen relationship, it has nothing to do with their careers now. They are both happy and successful with the directions they have chosen.
