1) no romance. There is slight romance between Huzi and FL, but this is strictly a bromance between Huzi and Qi Xiaoxuan
2-3) leads are together from ep 1 to 36, maybe they separated in 2-3 eps near the end. They fight like normal people, but talk it out and communicate like adults. Their relationship is healthier than 99.9% drama couples.
4) HE is subjective

If the novel adpated is a bl/bromance, then either the drama has a open ending, or they introduce a female love interest for one of them who moves on at the last moment (either gets with another guy, hence I was expecting Wu Lidan/ZXT ship) or gets killed off.

Not a spoiler if u paid attention. The first twin Qi ancestor was the only son of Qi something (shifu's master) and Ye Konming (Yi Mei's master). Considering Qi is a dude and they have a son and this NOT a mpreg novel, it goes to assume that "Ye Konming" is a lady.

For me the fights are not thr problem, it's cg. Esp the effects as well costumes of canon fodder demons. The it looks like they decided to recycle costumes rented from some school drama club that were rejected by 90s power rangers. Sorry, but they are really dumb and cheap looking. I have no other complaints lmao.

Older shows usually had trained stuntmen performing the moves while the new shows usually let the actors hang for authenticity sake . Which is why long shots always look better because they are performed by professionals.

Also, in the past there was generally a distinction between actors like action actors and romance actors (typecasting) so it was also easier to get actors who are good in action scenes, whereas nowadays all actors do all sorts of roles so there are less specialists.

Obviously, censor board is watching. Plus, Hu Zi and Tongtong did have a love line. But I feel like at the end Hu Zi will either retire to his old village or go on epic adventures with one of the twins while the other stays in capital to rebuilt the council. Xintong is the commaner in chief now, so she cant just leave.

If u have seen Oh My General, they have a similar dynamic as Sandra Oh and her General/SML. I hated the useless ML and Xintong/Lidan kinda make up for that.

No, Granny has always been biased. Yanran is right. If Yan and Fei were both morally grey (just like Yan and Qian) she has no reason to differentiate or choose. Also, she blamed and locked Yan up even though he wasnt at fault and she didn't let him off for a fair chance even after she knew Yanran framed with him that murder pill. There was literally no reason for her to hate Yan (the twin spirit is not an excuse, literally everyone in that family has that and they deal with it, even before she came along).

That puppet arc is a great way to get past censorship. It's not a bl, it is romance between a guy and his puppet-doll thingie who happens to be a guy 🤷🤷
