I cant believe they just all out went HuZi and the Real Boy here. At this point, they ain't even subtle.

I am on 20/36 (21/22 aired today, I have yet to watch) and so far they havent disappointed. There is no romance, for one. There was a bit of a tease between Hu Zi and the FL(Xintong) but they are firmly on different paths. Teins aren't actual twins (it will be shown in ep 14), more like split personality family curse. They usually lock the "evil" personality away in a mirror world Spirit Locking ritual . The sister is fully evil (she "killed" her good twin/spirit/personality). She also tried to kill off the good QXX (Qian) and framed Yan (before that Yan and Qian coexisted peacefully). The Grandma who is hardcore partial to Qian (I think she is very sus, others disagree) directly locked Yan without even a trial and Qian supported her (dumb mamma's boy). That's why Yan hates Qian and his friends. He isnt really evil, more like a guy who was betrayed his brother and locked away for no reason so he wants revenge against him. But he also wants Qian's friends, esp Huzi whom he HATES!!! to explain why he is friends with a backstabber like Qian when he/Yan is a much better choice.

Because it can only be "separated" after it absorbed Hu Zi's demonic tail. It got activated when Hu Zi stabbed it, and I feel like that is also the reason the mom is stuck in her Tiger form. She can't transform without the tail. The tail is important, not Hu Zi.

I am pretty sure Yan isnt evil at all and he has seen weird shit in that mirror. And he is trying to investigate in his own emotionally constipated way.
I still think that granny is sus af (who took her and the sister away, and why?)

Yi Mei created those mirrors to lock the 2nd spirit up and granny has been rabid about locking Yan (esp she locked him without a trial, even though we have aeen that she knew that Yan was the one who stole that Spirit Pill (even if she realised it later, why keep him locked after she found. Yan never even got a fair trail).

QXX is a kudere and Yan is a tsundere but both like Hu Zi hehe

They have a very class clown/girl crush dynamic going on. I think they are cute together but I really hope they dont shove a love plot in the drama. Their flirty friendship dynamic is perfect as is, romance isnt needed at all.

QYR was probably active DID so she could kill the "good" twin, but Qian and Yan were successfully coexisting in the same body. I also think that the reason Yan stabbed Huzi was because he is being fed lies by the sister. She could have told him that Qian is being manipulated/brainwashed by a demon, so he stabbed HuZi because (a) he is mad at Qian for moving on and making a new friend and he hates him 😡😡and (b) to kill the demon that is hurting his brother.

Honestly, I'm loving Yan more than XX. I mean XX is Ice Cube but Yan is uwu-boy. He only hates Qian because he was tricked into the mirror by Granny after being framed by QYR. Personally, I feel like Granny is sus af, and the only reason she supports good twins is because they are easy to manipulate. She hates QYR because she is too headstrong (and an evil b-tch, but that's different) and she hates Yan because he is too close with and protective of Qian. Without Yan, Qian had to depend on her for everything.
