Am I the only one who loves time skips in dramas? I feel people are traumatized by dramas like IPYTM that they have these allergic reactions to time skips but I personally love them. I think all my top favorite dramas have time skips in them. There are things that we are unable to do in our younger years that maturity and independence years later could turn around. I do think in Bad Buddy's plot, the time skip is essential. People forget PatPran are only 19/20, and you're still expected to submit to your parents at that age. Also, it's not like they hate their own parents, they actually LOVE their families which make this situation more complex. They love their families as much as they love each other, and that's where the actual problem lies. It's one of those problems that you just pray time could heal, and that's why I don't mind the time skip for this show since I feel it will be utilized well.
It's the same way when people say they hate the amnesia trope, but when that plot device is used properly, it can make wonderful dramas like Autumn's Concerto or Goodbye My Princess.
I'm one of the people who will be happy if they postpone the episode for December 31. It buys us an extra week with the drama and the fandom. Frankly, drama fandoms almost always collapse after a BL drama ends, and those who end up staying are usually those who stan the ship as well. But knowing Ohm and Nanon, I'm not sure we have a lot of assurance they'll do a lot of CP work after Bad Buddy since nothing is left to promote (maybe glimpses of them during My Precious and Vice Versa) so I don't want to be heartbroken. I felt Bad Buddy era really spoiled me so I don't want to expect so much (it's easy to tell people not to expect content, but it's hard to actually do it after almost 5 months with Bad Buddy = they were showering us with content since filming in September)
I wonder if those two will have a movie or something in 2022. The hype is too big to wait a year for a continuation…
I think Bad Buddy was certainly pushed to help Nanon and Ohm's careers especially as individuals. Like many have said, they have been established actors before this series. But despite being well known and having successful dramas, especially in Nanon's case, he just does not draw in the numbers his other popular peers could. Basically a case of actor respected for his skills (see acting awards) but lacks market power. I think Bad Buddy changed this for both him and Ohm as they trend for the most random things now. Nanon has admitted during the 5515 promos that this does still overwhelm him and he really has no idea how to properly handle it yet since this is all so new to him, but he has expressed that he is willing to learn.
Honestly we'll see if there are plans for them. Even P Aof says it is unknown at this point. Such is the case since both actors aren't exactly newbies, but to say they don't need to rely on the success of Bad Buddy is also false as the show at this point, has become a massive milestone in the careers of both boys (and will probably be even more once award season sets in).
Like Ohm said back in GMM2022, he had a hint the show would do quite well due to the high mock trailer views, but the way it's escalating right now is way beyond the expectations of both the cast and the crew. To be honest, I think GMM knew the show would be popular but I don't think anyone expected the OhmNanon ship to be THIS popular, especially with people knowing you can't push an ambiguous romantic narrative on them like you could with other popular GMM ships like OffGun, EarthMix or PondPhuwin since Ohm and Nanon have a very strong established history as bros years before Bad Buddy was even thought by P Aof. Nanon being more associated with Chimon was also a huge obstacle but OhmNanon's chemistry and dynamic also proved strong enough to surpass that issue. Funnily a lot of Nanon-Chimon shippers jumped ships to Ohm-Nanon during Bad Buddy.
They'll still certainly work together a lot for 2022 no question - they'll definitely do more brand events, My Precious (which was supposed to film back in 2020 so people saying this ie OhmNanon's F4 era are false, My Precious had a trailer before Bad Buddy was even conceptualized) and Vice Versa.
But I think the million dollar question is will GMM milk the hype and give them another big drama as a BL pair for 2023 (new director, new story, new characters) or will GMM just lazily create a Bad Buddy Season 2 - one of these scenarios are DEFINITELY happening, especially as much as people deny it, the OhmNanon CP is becoming more powerful than Bad Buddy itself now.
No one is talking about Nanon and Love chemistry in behind the scenes.. it is so so romantic
I personally think Ohm and Love had stronger chemistry in the car scene. I think Nanon fancies Love but the chemistry didn't radiate the same energy from both.
Not gonna lie I looked away when that finger licking/kissing happened. That stuff is too cringy for me. But later…
It also gave us a glimpse of how Pran is if he lets go of his inhibitions and fear in being with Pat. Now that he has the bet/competition as an excuse...
Well... all I can say was that episode 6 was a nice filler...
I did think it was a filler too (like a calming down episode from episode 5) until that conversation at the beach and the bet made at the boat. Then you realize it was major character development both for Pat and Pran.
I think their chemistry is a very complicated topic. Nanon is the affectionate type and he treats Ohm like his…
While I do agree Nanon used to struggle, he is definitely much better at it now. Dairy Queen event was a far cry from Mint Magazine era. He's getting the hang of it.
Also in Thailand, being part of a power ship is actually an asset, especially branding wise and in terms of selling power. Ohm and Nanon are both known to be great young actors in Thailand but they lack a devoted fanbase (which is why you don't see them do a lot of brand partnerships despite their popularity) so I don't really see why trying to push with the cp brand could hinder them.
It is amazing how they don't have any chemistry off screen, and Ohm doesn't stop talking,
Don't you think you might be projecting your opinion here? Maybe YOU dont think they have chemistry offscreen? That's an interesting take considering the first surge of their fanbase growth as a ship came during SafeHouse, which was definitely outside Bad Buddy. And those who watched that and stanned the ship definitely saw chemistry.
They could very easily be as famous as the couples mentioned, like the younger version of them but I don't think…
To be honest I disagree. Both guys always go through their ship hashtags, follow their ship fanclubs and fansites, and are quite vocal they want to continue working together, they have been accepting brand events lately too. Yeah they're great friends in real life but it is quite obvious to me they want to continue pursuing their professional relationship as an official couple pairing while also maintaining their acting career.
So, I'd like to know if there would be a third person involved in their romance, like a love triangle so I can…
Someone did in the book (arranged marriage by Pat's parents after they graduate) but that character doesn't exist in the drama so safe to say we're skipping that part here because the 2 girl characters the show currently has are rumored to be a lesbian pair themselves
Director Aof just posted on Twitter that the bus stop scene between Pat and Pran was done in one take without rehearsal with Ohm and Nanon just improvising the whole thing
