Yes, but there’s some people who hate FL because of being naive. I also love him in the novel she’s willingly to serve the FL and make up for his regrets, it’s just that I wish he just suffer a little more there hahaha.

DFQC is like Jieli too is just that she isn’t powerful as you wish. Sometimes I feel like people only like DFQC because of his hellfire. DFQC is more than that. He can still be strong without Hellfire, it’s just that we always have desire for the character to be always number 1 and perfect.

Both DFQC and Jieli have selfish motives.

DFQC can kill to get everything he wants. Although he was given a background story here in the drama, he still murders people.

So what his difference to Jieli who steals and have a possibility of betrayal.

I know I’ll also hate her character if she really betrays but if we really try to understand her point of view, she is just really unlucky.

Audience accept DFQC but not Jieli? Why? Because she is a woman and she contradicts what a woman should do in a society and while giving acknowledgment for DFQC in being strong by showing he can kill everyone.

Jieli steals or can even betray (we’re not sure of this) because she wants to survive. She isn’t as lucky as the FL who have her master Siming or DFQC to protect her and can still be naive. She always feel alone and have no parents.

She doesn’t trust and can’t be loyal to anyone because no one saves her. The only thing in her mind is to survive. Which contradicts to Shang Que (Dragon) who is loyal and can trust DFQC because DFQC once saves him. Shao Que and her have different perspectives towards trust and I think that will make their pair interesting.

I like that Jieli isn’t just a typical best friend in a story who’s flat and her life is only centered to FL. She also have a life too.

Although in one episode, XLH saves her, that’s the first time I think she consider XLH as her real friend, the first time she’s trying to trust. And doesn’t mean XLH saves her, her personality can easily change 360. There’s still a portion of her who always wants to survive.

Yeah I agree. Dong Fang Qing Cang is really a jerk in the novel. He sacrifice Xiao Lan Hua to start a war. But I like him here in the drama. In the novel, the year he loves her the most is the year she was gone. I wish they make him suffer in the novel for the stupid thing he have done to Xiao Lan Hua.

Don’t worry, It’s a happy ending, sooner or later she will remember him, that’s in the novel. I don’t know what will happen in drama because they put a lot of things that I think is good.

She’ll be resurrected as Goddes Xiyun and not as Xiao Lan Hua, so she will not remember DFQC. So DFQC tries a lot make up for all his regrets but I think he blackens before that happened. I’m not sure since I read the novel 2 years ago. All I just remember in the novel that DFQC doesn’t deserve XLH. BUT HERE IN THE DRAMA, I THINK THEY BOTH DESERVE EACH OTHER.

Okay I don’t want to be a killjoy but I know almost everyone wants DFQC to keep his hellfire but I think otherwise, that’s basically the reason for the start of his pain, trauma and sufferings even to the point of losing his father and also the reason why his relationship to his brother is not good in the drama. Thank God that there’s XLH to heal him. From my opinion, he is keeping the hellfire because three realms is still not in peace and hasn’t recovered his brothers (soldiers).

But to be honest, I hate DFQC in the novel because he’s hard to redeem his character there. I’m killing him all the time in my mind when I first read the novel. They soften DFQC here in the drama and make him redeemable as possible (because I doubt, it can pass censorship in China, that’s why I also think why they change Demon tribe from Moon tribe because they won’t allow evil to prevail. In the novel, he’s a total jerk. He wants to kill XLH in every chance. He only realize he love her when she’s finally gone. The reason he wants to revive Chi Di is childish because he think he got cheated and lost so he wants to battle again, without even caring about his subordinates.

Why I’m saying this is because many is still hating the FL when in fact FL is just true to her nature pure, cute and naive because if she’s not, why on earth she will sacrifice herself for the devil. FL in the novel, experience force body switch by ML, she tries her best to beg for ML to make her new body - from ML settling her spirit to a decaying body that arms have slowly ripping off to making him a human mould made out of mud that will slowly melt and finally sacrificing her for reviving Chi Di. (He knows that by reviving, he will hurt XLH).

I hope I can see in the drama that they will give Xiao Lan Hua the highlight she deserves.

The essence of the story is not just to make him cool but for me is how to finally unveil those emotions that he doesn’t even realize he already have.

She's only 1500 yrs old jand just recently turned to her immortal human form, plus her master damage her roots because she water her with wine hahaha. Other immortal surrounding her is already 30000 plus above her (plus calculating that the war happened 30000 years ago.)

But that's her character design. She is written to be a cute character. Maybe you have ear sensitivity or not inline with your idea of what is cute for you and I fully acknowledge it. To me as a cutesy character, her voice works well to me. I'm loving it. Her voice is not everyone's cup of tea I must admit but some still found it lovely to the ears.

It's really in the matter of preference and how deep you understand the character. Apparently some people love red flag boys while begging for mature strong woman. Haaah! So sad. All characters I believe will have a character development and will mature throughout the story. Some are just to impatient to wait. I'm just sad that they've been attacking woman for being too feminine. The sad part is for them, there's only one definition of a strong woman, the classic, bad@ss saassy girl. If it isn't like that, its bad to them.

About voices, I think people need to understand that their voice is for their character and not to actually please you. If you want her to sound in a deep voice, that's unlikely to be Xiao Lan Hua. Every character has a set voice, background, visual description and etc. It's about character analysis. Do you think DFQC will look powerful if it's in an ordinary tone? If you can't accept the voice, just drop the drama because that voice will always be part of XLH's character. And I also explain it here before that she's only 1500 years old compared to other characters surrounding her who's 30000 plus above her. Esther Yu's natural voice is her milky voice and she's the only actor who actually dubs her parts. She dubs it for 1 1/2 months with voice actors guiding her. They won't pass it if she doesn't have clear mandarin pronounciation. Also cnetz were shock that she dubs DFQC in XLH's body because of a large contrast, Not everybody knows but before she become popular she joins a program called "The Sound" that's about voice acting. She's there to comment and to learn. Also, a hollywood summer movie animation "My Little Pony" production choose her to mandarin dubbed Izzy. She already have the qualifications to dub. She also have numerous clips of her trying to dub other characters. I've posted it here before. Her character is TOP 3, DFQC is TOP 10 in weibo for all Character weibo index, enough to tell that cnetz accepted her character. It's just that International isn't used to that voice . Xianxia usually uses cutesy voice for FL and it's just right that her voice is natural is fit for that. Dylan Wang have strong accent so he cannot dub it (nothing wong with that). it's just it won't pass the standard of dubbing. So his voice actor is so great in dubbing him that it fits his character. It's all teamwork in Love Between And Fairy and Devil. I believe DFQC won't be dominnering if it's not for XLH because honestly, she's the reason why the story moves. If you really read the novel, she really is like that, whiny and cute voice. Also, mandarin is a tonal language, It also doesn't help that she have natural pitch voice so I understand if someone have ear sensitivity.

They will not pass her voice if it's not qualified, Dylan Wang cannot dubbed his parts because of his strong accent (he's known for that and there's nothing wrong but he just cannot let him dub). Many now praise her for clear mandarin pronounciation, that they even say it doesn't need chinese subtitle. I think you are used to Hollywood calm, low tone voice. For me, I didn't really notice it because I have friends klike that and sometimes when I talk people even says I'm like whining or crying, it really depends where you came from or who are people you are with. I've been watching Xianxia, they are using cutesy voice for the longest time. Aside from that, she have voice actors guiding her throughout. She dubs it for 1 1/2 months. That's dedication for me. It is in her weibo's manager. Sadly you can't choose what voice you can have, you can only improve it. And it may triggers insecurity to people who have voices like her. I mean what's the difference in mocking someone's skin to mocking someone's voice, etc. But I know some are really sensitive or auditiory learners. I think the merging of souls in donghua = heart curse (sharing joy and sorrow) of the drama. I really like how the drama adapts it from the novel. Because I just don't want to watch the two leads just bickering in a weird space.
