It doesn’t mean that your favorite character is affected, other characters are unreasonable. THERE’S THING CALLED CONFLICT OF INTEREST BETWEEN THE CHARACTERS. You cannot assume other characters to be a puppet so it will always be convenient to your favorite character. That’s my dear is a bad writing.
And also, If you make XLH strong at the beginning, it will not be called an adaptation anymore because in the novel she’s cute, bubbly and naive.
