Does it bug anyone else how quickly the princes have fallen for her? It was basically love at first sight and…
I don't think any of the princes care about her at all other than Prince Lei and the Crown Prince. For Prince Lei, he feels like she has a sense of justice and feels indebted to her.
While the Crown Prince was following her for literal weeks and saw her kill people, save people, and adopt a cat and I think that he's very infatuated. He sees her as kind of a light that came in to his dreary life, who's made it more interesting.
We also have to remember, that regardless they have to marry for political reasons and the inherit reason why she's there in the first place is so one of princes marries her.
The story does feel very fast-paced though, so I feel like if its not done with care all the interesting parts might be in the beginning.
I like that they've made the relevant princes interesting instead of making them 2 dimensional. I really connect with the dynamic between Prince Lei and Prince Xin as they're full brothers and seem to really care for each other.
So far I really do feel for both of them as of Ep 5 because one just clearly doesn't know how to interact with others, but is doing his best and the other seems to have given on life so he's honed in on his brother's life to be fulfilled.
I love the costuming in this drama! I like that you can tell the difference of when she was wearing the outfits from the Northwest and after she arrived at the capital (though she does keep some her previous ornaments and jewelry a little). Regardless, the embroidery and color schemes of all the costumes are so cohesive. I really like both leads and Prince Lei's distinctive styles.
I'm tired of you giving moral lectures instead of film reviews on this platform. The film passed the Chinese censorship…
Mind you, no where did I say that you should or shouldn't watch it lol. There's quite literally nothing wrong with having a discussion about strange choices in the acting industries when it's something prevalent here and this is a site about dramas and this is the comment section and not the review section.
What are you planning? It's her family and her agency who planned this for her. Complain to them. People with…
I'm saying that this is an issue with exploiting minors, this is a platform where this drama is being reviewed. I simply checked the drama synopsis because I like the main actor then saw this issue and voiced my opinion. Am I saying this is a platform where it'll reach the people to complain to? no. I'm saying that people should understand each other, instead of accusing others of being haters or saying they have ulterior motives for voicing discomfort. It's not wrong to want to have a discussion on the negatives and weird things in acting industries.
It's wild that people are calling others haters for being uncomfortable that a 16-17 year old filmed a romance drama with a 27-28 year old. The reason people are weirded out is because China has an abundance of adult actresses who are good at their job AND teenage actors.
Stop taking it as people saying that they don't deserve this drama/roles. With the amount of dramas released and the amount of scripts out there, this situation of making a grown man play a romantic partner to a teenager could've easily been avoided. I'm sure it's even more uncomfortable for Huo Minghao, because he's the adult having to act marrying someone who's underaged in real life especially because the female lead was chosen after he accepted the drama.
It doesn't matter how old she is in the story, the fact is, in reality the two have a 11 year age gap which wouldn't matter if she were not underaged (this is the keyword). In China, you're not a legal adult until 18 (Ai Mi is 17), you can't even marry until you're 20. They wouldn't have someone under 18 act to drink alcohol, but they can act married, hilarious.
You can be fine with the fact that she's 18 as of the drop (actually its airing 2 days before she turns 18, how interesting) and that you don't mind age-gap romances, but stop calling people haters for having a moral compass even if it doesn't align with yours lol.
if they made you think Kaye is the murderer then he is not the murderer that’s how mystery drama works
he's probably just a mentally ill citizen going through it, but I'm just choosing someone until someone else truly has my suspicion. he seems lonely and timid which makes me sad for him
I'm terrible at mystery, so until further notice my theory is that Kaye/Mr. Kill is the murderer. I know its probably a red herring, but what if they're making us think its a red herring and its not 😭
If so, he likely has an accomplice, but I don't knowww
my heart breaks for them 💔 it's so hard to watch them struggle from their trauma and having to support themselves and each other when they're just teenagers and they still manage to find positivity and keep their spark amidst all this misfortune. It's like one of the only ways for them to stay sane is by focusing on being there for the other and finding joy with each other.
omg ppl are so mad about the haircut in ep 5 but his bowl cut is back within 10 minutes like is it that serious 😭 it makes sense to cut his hair so short because they can't afford the up-keep, so they cut it shorter so it takes longer to grow back and they can make ends meet
Just finished episode 4, so far, the drama is fire! Miao Jing mom is a greedy scammer and left her daughter. Chen…
The father hated his own son so much that he was convincing him that he wasn't his blood, but he was Chen Yi's biological father.
When Chen Yi was younger, he says "there's no way you're my son" when he was torturing him as an insult, and then we see that by the time Chen Yi is older, he has him almost convinced. Chen Yi does a paternity test, and when the father dies, it shows a 99.99% match.
🖐 Language matters. A LOT.I have a feeling Love for You is going to lose some viewers because of the Cantonese.Hear…
there's prejudiced ppl everywhere these days lmaoo. you cannot handle that a cdrama—which mind you is produced from a place where cantonese is the second most spoken language—has a little cantonese. since you invited ppl to fight you, I'll just say that you're giving yourself a headache on an imaginary issue, but I guess that's what all people who have hate in their hearts do 😭
ep 3Chen Yi has some good friends. Although they did not succeed 😭😭😔 they gave it their all. This is…
honestly with victims of abuse especially from parents its so hard to psychologically break out from the innate fear of not just fighting an abuser but an authoritative figure in your life. even toward the end of the episode when he did push back, he still couldn't bring himself to hit him because a part of him believed that fighting or hitting back would make him just like his father.
he can be 8ft tall and 500 lbs of muscle and might not defend himself. its so sad but a lot of times victims of abuse cannot overcome the psychological barrier and inherit fear. plus who knows how long the father was torturing him, we only know that its been at least from when he was a middle schooler.
the parents genuinely make me sick. a mother who sees her child as a commodity to use to get a better life and throw away when she's deemed not useful and an actual sadist who tortures his son.
So in ep. 2 - what did the father do to him? Did he hit him or possibly worse?
I think it's implied that the father electrocutes him with how they showed the rods, Chen Yi in water, and something stuffed in his mouth so others wouldn't hear him scream. Also with Chen Yi body involuntarily twitching during the soup-feeding scene and his fear of the sparks and bumping cars mechanism at the amusement park, I'm almost certain that's what it is. Its sickening.
lowkey the bl within the bl has me locked in too. also I like that you can differentiate them when they play the characters vs themselves and the slight confusion when they're stuck in between. ugh this is just such a good concept
Cha Jiyoon (Park Jihyun) is drop-dead gorgeous, and I love that the Kang Siwoo (Seo Inguk) comes across as very straightforward, but low-key a loser (the way he sprinted out of the grocery store to laugh killed me lmaoo). It's very obvious that he wants her, and he's not subtle about it.
She’s also interested, but because of her ambiguous ending with her ex, she has baggage when it comes to potential relationships. In my opinion, I really don't think the ex storyline will really be a problem because anyone who gets ghosted when they're so deeply in love will have baggage and unresolved feelings. I think instead of seeing it as a flaw in the story, people should understand it's a part of the character's journey.
I also like that the ML is a divorcee and despite what FL believed in Ep 1, I think he has fully moved on. He just felt awkward about giving the gift money to his ex's wedding. This is a story about mature people in their 30s, so I love that they've had previous relationships and wounds, that they also have established routines and lives which they will let each other into as they fall for each other more and more.
They look really good together too. When he showed up to drink with her in casual clothes and his hair down, and she was like "was he always this tall?" I really felt her. It's interesting how she seems softer/bubbly at work and more straightforward in her daily life while for him it's the opposite (which can speak to how men and women are expected to act like in the work place).
While the Crown Prince was following her for literal weeks and saw her kill people, save people, and adopt a cat and I think that he's very infatuated. He sees her as kind of a light that came in to his dreary life, who's made it more interesting.
