The cast of this show is stellar, but I have to specifically mention the 'newbies' Fourth, Gemini and Mark. They have such a strong presence. Fourth and Gemini are probably the best new actors (and singers) that GMMTV has found in ages - you just can't pay attention to anything else when they're on screen, both here and in MSP.
Regarding the kiss situation, I don't mind them holding back because after all these are two teenagers who have probably never kissed anyone and are nervous about their first kiss together, which is perfectly reasonable. That said, the constant teasing is a bit uncalled for - kissing a notebook or a bottle cap is way too childish even for this kind of story. I'd rather them not even allude to a kiss until the last episode than this constant back-and-forth. That doesn't make me love the series any less, but it's one aspect that I could definitely do without.
It's not the most cohesive and coherent show out there, but it sure as hell is entertaining. It also helps that Pond is so handsome that most of the time he's on screen I don't even pay attention to what's going on. Jokes aside, the inconsistencies of the plot don't bother me so much here because it's just things that could've been improved upon with more thorough thinking and planning, but there isn't anything downright offensive or unsettling.
So freaking adorable. I can't even find the right words to express how much I'm enjoying this show. I grinned from ear to ear the entire episode. They absolutely hit every mark - just brilliant.
Every series has 'filler' episodes and this was definitely one of those, but it was a pretty solid one. It managed to capture the same charm and light-hearted feeling of the previous 'story' episodes while still making some kind of character and plot development. I think at this point only a catastrophe of epic proportions will ruin this show, because it has been one of the most consistent BLs ever made, in terms of knowing what it wants to be and achieve and how to find the best means to get there.
Yes, I was a gay teenager with a homophobic parent. But I never threw anyone under the bus the way Ben did to…
That's a lot of anger over a TV show. I've seen your other posts. You pick up fights with EVERYBODY. But I won't play your game. You are either a troll or a very sad soul.

EXACTLY! That's why I said Ben's behavior was not that evil because as you very well pointed out here, the problem lies in the homophobic environment, not in Ben. Like you accurately said if it were a girl he kissed everything would be fine. All the more reason to understand why he did what he did. He (and each one of us gay people out there) is a victim of an oppressive society so he felt the need to protect himself, and that to me makes his decision understandable, not ideal or the noblest thing to do, but definitely not evil (not intentionally at least).
I'm enjoying the show and I found episode 5 to be the best one so far. Sure, there are a couple of things I wish were more well thought-of and executed; not to the point that it bothers me or affects my appreciation towards the show, but I feel that I must agree with some of the criticism other people have shared in the comments section. Also, why are people being so harsh at Ben? Were you ever a gay teenager with a homophobic parent? If you were you know exactly how he feels and if you weren't, it's time to develop more empathy.
I wasn't expecting to like this show that much but it only goes to show that sometimes investing in a 'simpler' plot but concentrating your efforts on the execution of such plot pays off much more than adding many elements that don't necessarily make stories better, just harder to pull off. I grinned from ear to ear through the whole episode until I started to shed some tears in the last minutes of it, which is a testament of how competent the delivery of this show has been. And BTW, how infectious is Fourth's smile? That kind of natural charisma is rare, GMMTV really hit the jackpot with him.
I'm sorry for being a little futile and vain now but is anyone else shocked by how hot Sea (Talay) looks without his shirt on? I thought he was cute in a dorky way but he's actually quite a hunk, isn't he?
The last loop really dragged the series down for me. The brilliant part of the show in the earlier episodes was how consistent the story was and how high the stakes were for Tin to make the right choices and save Tol. But in this last loop nothing made sense, things happened completely differently for no reason, there were way too many plot holes, loose ends and quick fixes that it almost feels like a different person wrote this part of the story. Still an anjoyable watch overall but it ended in a very anti-climatic and sloppy manner.
TMOTB has just been elected the best BL of the year by Brazil's biggest BL-related website / fanpage , beating the likes of Semantic Error and KinnPorsche. Honestly I was a bit shocked that it got #1 because it was by popular vote and we all know there are more hyped shows and bigger fandoms out there, but I'm so proud of Brazilian BL fans who voted on this masterpiece. Here's the link if you want to check the top 25 shows that made it in this ranking:
Why are the episodes so long? The scirpt is already bad enough if it was a 20-minute episode, but more than an hour for this trainwreck is pure torture.
hahahahhaahahahah This is the most fun I've ever had reading a review. Not only do I agree with everything, the way you wrote this is absolutely genius.
They ended EXACTLY as I thought they would. What a mess. The reasons for the conflicts were bad and the resolution for the conflicts was even worse. This is one of the very few shows I actually regret having spent my time watching. I'm giving it a 5 because I still have some affection for the first season, which makes my judgement a bit biased - as its own shown, it deserves much less.
