Oh, I get that. I'm just saying that it's a bit of a cheap resolution - alternative universe, ok, all mysteries solved.

I like this series, but there were too many "cheats" this episode, and I don't think they're part of some test…
I was thinking the same thing. If these 'new rules' were there to add more thrill, fine. But they seem to be just there to resolve previous plot points and that felt a bit cheap. Like, how did Sing know about Rit's kidney in this loop? Wasn't it Tin who had found out about it? So now everything's just given to them, story-wise; that's a bit of a reach, IMO.

"I don't think people are saying that the show is bad because it's sad, it's bad because it's actually genuinely…
Well, you can't accuse me of that, my avatar is The Miracle of (freaking) Teddy Bear, the saddest, most devastating BL ever released. Compared to Teddy Bear, this show is a comedy. But the biggest difference to me is that Teddy Bear manages to create a lot of empathy for the characters, and that's exactly why it's so sad, because you care so much about everyone. Here, I honestly don't have any energy left to care about these characters (especially Ji Woo), I just hope it all ends soon. I will finish it because I hate dropping stuff and because I was really looking forward to it before, but I really couldn't care less about how this ends, unless they have the guts to separate them in the end, then I'll give them props for realism (because relationships do end, that's life); but if they go the let's-forgive-and-forget route, this show will be on the bottom of my rankings.

To those saying that this show delves deep into emotions and relationships or anything related to that, let me ask you a fair question. If I had only watched the first epiosode and proceeded to watch the final one next week, what would I have missed? What exactly progressed in between? Yes, they kissed (and apparently banged, but even that is not clear, you have to reach a bit and come up with that conclusion yourself). The show has been going round in circles for 7 episodes, there are many different sprinkles of different plotlines but nothing has been explained, discussed, deconstructed, analyzed, resolved or anything of the sort. I don't think people are saying that the show is bad because it's sad, it's bad because it's actually genuinely bad in terms of story and character development. It's a bunch of stuff thrown to create angst, but it's so half-baked that it creates more boredom and frustration rather than the intended sadness.

Well at this point this is just mysery porn. They are just using all the ammunition they have to create implausible ways to keep them apart (and I hope they are apart forever now). I've said it a million times, but I'll say it again: I don't mind angst, mysery, sadness and all of that if it's done right. In this particular show there are 3 reasons why it doesn't work for me:
1. They made one character a jerk and the other a pushover. If they were working on their angst together of if one was supporting the other, it could've worked. But this way is just too cruel and very unrealistic;
2. The reasons behind the big break-up (the central angst of the season) are shallow and a bit of a stretch. The feeling of loneliness and the feeling of not being good enough for someone are great reasons to explore the hardships of a relationship, but here nothing is explored, it's all just used as a (lame) excuse to justify one character's awful attitude;
3. This could've worked if it was a new show, but not the second season of a show whose first season has nothing to do with this. It's clear they wrote a story placing shock value as their priority, and not character and story development and that is the main reason why second seasons usually suck - they try to bite off much more than they can chew and add some twists and turns that pretty much erase the work they'd done with the fisrt season.

The last episode managed to put a smile on my face but overall the show as a whole left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. That's all the analogies Ive got lol

I prefer this realistic way of storytelling over some over-romanticized love stories that are pushy and all over…
Honestly, the problem to me is that I don't find it realistic at all. I find all the drama extremely fabricated and formulaic (miscommunication, ex-girlfriend, that's BL writing 101). It's almost like watching a telenovela (Latin soap) but the aggravating factors here are that one half of the couple is extremely unlikeable and everything nice that's supposed to have happened about their relationship happened off-screen. I think these are big storytelling mistakes. But that's just my perception.

I think it would have turned out better if that were the case. I think they had an AI watch all the BLs ever made…
True lol
I'm finding it hard to enjoy any of the shows that I'm watching now. I'm only enjoying Triage and KinnPorsche and even these shows I find some episodes less consistent than others. Having watched more than 100 BLs is starting to take a toll on my appreciation for the new ones because I find it all extremely similar in terms of conflicts and resolutions. It's almost like I keep seeing the same show over and over again where things happen the exact same way and at the exact same time.

10000000000%. I think the title ToMyStar is a final goodbye , schuicide or obituary letter :(
Honestly, the writers did such a good job in promoting my absolute disdain for Ji Woo that I wouldn't even care if they killed him off. I'd be a bit relieved for Seo Joon, to be honest.

Honestly, I think the writing is unfortunate at this point. If they wanted angst, and I really don't mind angst, there were many other alternatives to explore which would be more meaningful and poignant; this is a same-sex relationship involving a celebrity in a still conservative country - look at how much potential there is to explore here and use it as an enlightening story to raise awareness of LGBT-related issues. But they chose this route of 'let's just put one of the characters through the most humiliation and misery and have the other act like a complete jerk with a lame excuse of him being an introvert'. And I'm sure somehow they will have their 'happy' ending but at this point I fail to see Seo Joon getting back with Ji Woo as a happy ending. If these people were real and they were my friends, I'd tell Seo Joon to grow some self-respect and move on and I'd tell Ji Woo to just drop dead. And to me personally, that's the reason why this season doesn't work. I just stopped caring about this relationship.

The conversation between the father and Li Gong is even more nonsensical than I thought it would be. I'm starting to believe the script was written by teenage kids who were forced to write something at an art class, that's the only explanation I can find right now.

I'm still not impressed, but I'm not ready to jump ship either. I'm still hoping things will get more coherent. So far, what I'm getting is angst that doesn't feel very justified, it's just there for the sake of it. I don't mind angst at all, I'm all for it if it's written and executed well. I don't think that's the case here, so far. As others have pointed out below, there's a lot of unecessary randomness while the big elephant in the room continues to be ignored.

Not the greatest first epiosde, IMO, but I'm still excited about this show because I see a lot of potential due to the quality of last year's special episode. I hope the remaning episodes manage to steer in that direction.

That was the most fucking awful piece of shit I've seen all year. What a colossal fucking disaster. Who the fuck…
Well at least in Be loved the ex was a guy and not a girl, which is groundbreaking in a BL context lol, paradoxical though it may seem.

I'll need to watch more episodes to form an opinion but if they throw in an ex-gf to cause even more upset to Seo Joon as if what Ji Woo has done isn't enough then I'll just hope they don't end up together. I know for the fans of BL a couple going not ending up together is comparable to a hate crime but there' s no way Ji Woo deserves a happy ending if the story goes in that direction.

Aaron & Hank kind of stole the show in this episode. Everything else was just... uh, there, I guess? I was hoping for a more thorough and coherent resolution to last episode's conflict.

What just happened? I agree with all the critiques below so I'll focus on the positives:
1. a gay actor in a gay role / the characters are also gay from the start, which is quite refreshing in the BL realm
2. the OST (Ocean like me) - the lyrics are really beautiful
3. Gi Chan is even more handsome than before (he can choke me - sorry I'm a bit naughty today LOL)
Well that's all I can think for the positives. Overall I still find it better than the other Korean BL that ended this week, Love Class, because here at least we can see them being a couple for a few episodes and there are more sweet moments / kisses between the ML, which makes their romance a bit more believable, despite the weak storyline.

Your last paragraph is so spot-on that I did a little research of my own. Everyone who gave this show a lower rating than 7 in these reviews is female. EVERY SINGLE ONE. You are totally right. They think that these shows only exist to please them and feed their fantasies but they forget that for LGBT people these shows are not only entertainment, they are necessary to help us try to create a slightly better world for us to live in. Absolutely brilliant how you worded the last paragraph of your review.
