I think some people can find XL fans very annoying, because how we passionate about him🤣But for me his character…
I honestly find myself a bit annoying as well for constantly commenting about YaoLiu 😂 I just can't help but express every single thought that comes to my mind because their dynamics and the hidden meanings in their scenes are really interesting to analyze. There's so much to say about the complexity of their feelings towards each other.
I just finished reading the novel after starting it yesterday even though I originally planned to read the S2…
The most tragic thing about the novel is not even XL's death, it's the fact that XY never knew about the things XL has done for her and how much she meant to him. She lived her life thinking that all that they had was just a transaction to him— that she was the only one hurting.
I just finished reading the novel after starting it yesterday even though I originally planned to read the S2 part while S2 is airing (because I already read the S1 part after watching S1), but I couldn't wait until July 8. Then I finally watched the trailer for the first time right after reading the epilogue and oh my gosh you guys— that was fucking amazing. The drama did a spectacular job in bringing the novel to life. The iconic scenes are so well done; I can't wait for the drama to air. I just hope they didn't remove my favorite scenes.
YZ's acting was so good in the S2 clips. I'm so excited at how her character will turn out.
Thanks! It's actually on my list but I'm thinking of watching it after a while because my mom already spoiled me a bit so I need to forget all that she said first 😭
Ya'll just ignore their comments— there's no point in trying to explain things to people who simply choose to not understand. The more you give them attention, the more they feel satisfied. Just let them feel embarrassed when no one's giving them the clout and feud that they want. Let's all save time for ourselves and focus on interacting with the positive people <3

I agree, LYF is the first (and as of now still the only) drama that I watched from YZ, and she's honestly one of the actresses (alongside LSS in A Journey to Love) that truly impressed me the most when I just started watching c-dramas (which was just this year lol).
This scene represents how XY has been waiting and waiting and waiting, that somehow deep inside, she had been…
It truly is painfully beautiful. There's so much unsaid words between them. I hope that in their next life, they'll be reborn as simple commoners living beside the ocean where they could travel and venture out in the world as much as they want.
"Xiao Yao felt like the two of them could have kept playing together like this for forever and an eternity. Because the two of them were just too similar - they didn't care about anything, willing to try everything, interested in all, and whatever could make them smile. They appreciated all that was beautiful, but wanted to own none of it." - Chapter 17, LYF novel
I just continued reading the novel (because I stopped at where S1 ended) and my heart is already aching so much.…
This scene represents how XY has been waiting and waiting and waiting, that somehow deep inside, she had been hoping that XL would not have to take a different course, despite knowing very well that he cannot allow himself to do so. She could not say it in words, hence she just stands there and waits with a feeling of longing hidden in the deepest corners of her heart because that's all she can do, even though she knows it's already pointless. She knows XL too well— she knows their limitations too well. XL implicitly tells XY to not wait for him, that she should go on with her life and that waiting for him will lead to nothing.
I really hope that people would actually read between the lines. XY is a very complicated character where you actually need to delve into her thoughts rather than simple basing on her words and final decisions.
I just continued reading the novel (because I stopped at where S1 ended) and my heart is already aching so much. There's so much meaning in XY and XL's scenes that it's kind of sad that some people fail to understand how much XL means to XY. Not all feelings need to be explicitly said, and this scene perfectly shows this. I really hope they will show it in the drama.
They arrived outside Little Zhu Rong's residence and Xiao Yao and Xiang Liu both stopped at the same time. But one didn't depart and the other didn't go in. They just silently stood there. In the past she felt they had so many opportunities to see each other, but it wasn't clear when it began that Xiao Yao started to feel that she was seeing less and less of him. Until tonight, when this feeling became impossible to ignore.
After a few moments, Xiang Liu said "You go inside!"
Xiao Yao wanted to talk to him but she didn't know what she wanted to say. She said "Now is not like before, you shouldn't come to the Middle Plains so often anymore."
Xiao Yao thought Xiang Liu would mock her, asking whether she was worried Zhuan Xu would kill him or worried he would kill Zhuan Xu. But surprisingly Xiang Liu said nothing and continued to just look at her.
Xiao Yao quietly stood there waiting. but she didn't know what she was waiting for.
Xiang Liu's cold voice spoke "You go inside!"
Xiao Yao smiled and curtsied to him before turning to knock on the door. The door opened and Xiao Yao stepped inside while Xiang Liu continued to stand outside, white robe black hair, tall and proud, like the white snow on the black mountains in the North, even if it was covered with flowers it would still look imposing.
Xiao Yao couldn't take another step and stood rooted in place staring at him as the door slowly closed and Xiang Liu disappeared from sight.
here's something i would also like to take note in [6].i think it's a bummer that in the drama, it seemed like…
the drama did seem to make XY more in love with TSJ than she actually is. at least in how i see it, TSJ to XY was someone whom she CAN have and someone who can afford to leave his responsibilities for her, rather than someone whom she actually wants to be with the most. though i've only read the S1 part in the novel so i can't really say anything about how it is in the latter part of the novel.

now that you mentioned it, there was also that one scene where XY asked TSJ to hang out with her in the ocean in which she tried to reenact her underwater kiss with XL. they had a mini fight and XY asked angrily why TSJ refused her kiss, then TSJ answered "Because you didn't have me in your eyes back there."
i think this scene alone would've been able to imply XY's feelings for XL if only it was included in the drama. there are many things she could not do with XL to express her own feelings because of their circumstances, hence she directed it to TSJ (this ofc does not mean that she totally does not have any sort of affection for TSJ, just an emphasis of the multiple redirection that XY has done)
while waiting for LYF2, here are some of my favorite snippets from the novel (LYF1 chapters) that encapsulates…
for context in [4], it was when XL ran out of money when they were eating outside so he had to pawn one of his items because XY tried to pay for it instead. he scolded XY and said "Paying is a man's job, you stop getting involved!" Since he was so serious, XY put on her best serious facial expression and nodded (contrary to the drama where she immediately laughed). In the novel, she spent all night giggling about it when XL was not around anymore.
Omgad...........I'm crying already! Who dares call this plutonic love?! 🥹😭🤧
exactly. there's so much quotes in the novel that proves that XY would choose to spend all her life with XL if only it was just them and the ocean and there was nothing else to worry about.

i think it's a bummer that in the drama, it seemed like XY was anguished seeing TSJ nearing death as she came back, but in fact, in the novel she was much more heartbroken when XL wasn't there when she finally woke up. in the drama, she shed only a few tears for XL. yet in the novel, she cried so much in that scene (as far as i know she did not even cry for TSJ in the novel in contrast to what was shown in the drama).
