Its an old issue of MDL community. I was also attacked by some ppl who disagree with my critics towards some dramas.…
Cdramas quality are really various. You can see their budget through its production quality. New rookie stars and Idol dramas tend to be cheaper with light romance stories. So it's hard to talk about script quality for this kind of drama because it was made to suck up fandoms instant money.

That's why if you want to get the drama quality with high production value. You need to be more selective. I can say, chinese drama's strenght is not modern dramas. But their strongest thing is historical period costume drama. They gave higher budget in period costume drama. Even though, we still need to pick the right drama to watch.

The quality thing issue also happened in korean drama as well. So many average and disappointing drama come to kdramaland this year.

Yes he used the stunt doubles for kissing scenes in Under The Power (it was confirmed by Seven Tan) and Crow &…
Yes this is a very rare thing. Because most of married celebrities usually still did real kiss scenes as the form of their professionalism as actors n actresses. For example Mark Chao, Yang Mi, Chen Xiao, Angelababy, Liu Shi Shi, Timmy Xu, Tiffany Tang, Luo Jin, Zhao Li Ying, and etc.

That's why RJL always got backlash about this things before Forever and ever + TBW were aired.

Hoo. I know your frustations. Cdrama usually got longer eps than korean and japanese drama.

I can understand the long episodes on historical period costume drama. They are long but usually chinese drama in historical setting needs development to create a deeper story. That's why it needs longer eps.

But for modern drama? No. It's too long already if they set the eps for around 30-40 eps. Modern cdramas usually got draggy issue because of too many fillers n side couples. And they didnt have enough topic to be talked for 40 eps. So it's different case with historical dramas.

For me, 24 eps is ideal number for modern dramas. Some historical dramas especially idol dramas also use this 24 eps because they have lighter stories compare to "real" historical dramas

Btw when the "husband" admitted that she is actually a girl? Which eps?
Hah. The synopsis is actually misleading. It said after revealing that she is a girl, then they formed sisterhood relationship after that.

No wonder i was confused in earlier eps. When she admitted it? She just guess that she is "sick" that's why they can avoid consummation.

I think I once read that Ren Jia Lun (Allen Ren) had a no-kissing clause in his contracts due to his marital status.…
Yes he used the stunt doubles for kissing scenes in Under The Power (it was confirmed by Seven Tan) and Crow & Lizard. The director zoomed in the mouth area without showing the side profile of actors while doing kiss scenes. It is the sign the stunt doubles are the one who kissed Seven Tan in UTP. The same thing also happened in Crow & Lizard.

Before he was married, he kissed Jing Tian in Glory of Tang Dynasty. So it's most likely because of marriage thing, he refused to do kiss scenes.

But surprisingly, he did soft kiss with Bai Lu in Forever n Ever. And he also did several kisses with Dilraba in TBW.

Maybe he broke his own rules because of many criticsm he got after stunt doubles news.

It's to keep the show from dragging. And the beginning episodes are ok to me since it keeps everything a mystery.
Then this drama is for you. But for other ppl, it's choppy and rushed. Especially for two first eps.

No need to reply me anymore. We have different opinions. Just enjoy your drama.

Endless love? Lol it's eternal love. Just call it Ten Miles of Peach Blossom. We have so many eternal love here.

If the beginning is already ruined by bad editing then we can't say the drama is perfect as overall no matter how good it is in later part. Just like a cancer in the body. If someone has cancer in one part, and the other parts are still good, can we say that someone is the healthy person? No.

If the beginning is confusing, rushed, disjointed and many more, some ppl (especially ppl who don't have patience) will leave this drama no matter what. First impression is so important. That's why i said the drama needs a solid and understable beginning.

They can cut unnecessary scenes in the middle if it's too draggy. But they have to keep some important parts in the beginning. Don't make it too fast and choppy.

This is the same issue for another iQiyi dramas. My Sassy Princess was so choppy in the beginning. See You Again was also like that. It rushed everything in earlier eps and they failed to build solid beginning.

If you are suitable to this kind of beginning, then good for you. No offense. But other ppl feeling and opinions are different.

I don't think many 50+ eps are draggy. For me, Ashes of Love (63 eps) and Love & Redemption (59 eps) are perfectly fine.

Many ppl complained about it below. So it's definitely an issue for this drama. I think the solid beginning is the right foundation to make the drama become more interesting.

Dragging things usually happen in the middle. Not beginning.

How does this drama compare to Love Like the Galaxy in terms of romance? Which drama has more romance and is better?
This drama got romance with wuxia stuff + palace politics schemes between princes as the main plot. So LLTG is incomparable with this drama. It's not even the same genre. We can't compare apple to orange.

LLTG is a type of family domestic drama in historical setting with marriage issue, household conflict, and some military political palace things because the ML is a general.

Rushed? Disjointed? Confusing?

I bet they cut a lot of scenes to make 40 eps quota. Dear producers, you can just make them into two parts like other dramas instead of ruining a good show.

Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
Hi. Can you explain politics vs war vs romance. How many percentage is it in the drama?I skimmed watch some earlier…
Excuse me? Lol Love Like The Galaxy is much better than this one. I bet ppl who said that is the fans of "someone". You know this drama create fanwar between two parties.

But anyway it's about personal preference. For me, the drawings ruined the action segments. So it affected my impression for this drama. This drama got perfect story for create breathtaking epic war scenes. But yeah they inserted the damn manhwa into live action drama.

Let me DM you lol. This conversation become more and more dangerous lmao we are lucky this is not on going drama.

But at least people who come here later will see more different perspective comments from non-fans of the main leads.

Btw I agree with your newest post above. Li Chang Ge would be already dead if Ashina Sun didnt come to rescue her everytime. Maybe this is semi "damsel in distress" drama. I wouldn't say "full" because sometimes LCG also help Ashina Sun to avoid punishment in front of Great Khan.

I also am wondering when LCG fell in love with him coz I didnt feel the chemistry until ep 23. Plus her decisions to leave the grassland made Ashina Sun's foster mother commited suicide.

Hi. Can you explain politics vs war vs romance. How many percentage is it in the drama?I skimmed watch some earlier…
Yes it's rare. BUT at least Ashina Sun got better fighting scenes than FL. Or they can just keep shooting with cool CGI arrows lol btw I reached around ep 20~ and yeah I saw the archery scenes and grassland fighting scenes between Sun vs She Er.

In conclusion, I think TLB is more into boring war politics with mixed "drawings" battle scenes. It pissed me off actually. Plus i need to keep hearing complaints from my dad.

I love novoland pearl clipse more than this drama. Both FL disguised as a male but the FL (Yang Mi) n ML (William Chan) fighting + battle scenes in pearl eclipse was very good + palace politics were not boring.

I am sorry but foreigners also have important role in creating the trending of kdramas. Many international platforms…
However OTT platforms also pay licenses to korean and they got more money n profit from it.

Hmmm So far the cool fighting scenes are mostly done by men. Like Ashina Sun and Hao Du scenes.

I hate that drawings in actual war scenes. No wonder some chinese netizens kept complaining about that. They should respect the important aspect like battle scenes. Dont ruin it with drawings.

Report sir 🤣

My dad watched The Long Ballad. And you know the opening scenes? When Li Chang Ge fell into the river then she turned into drawings 😂😂😂

My dad said "What the heck is it? I don't like this anime (😂🙄). Why they ruined the live action? Usually chinese drama never do something like this. This TLB production didnt have enough budget for difficult scenes? Or the actress didnt want to be wet?"

Then....my burst laughing is filling the TV room.

LOLOLOLOLOL see? My dad is wuxia freak. He just want to see cool fighting scenes !!! 🤣🤣🤣

Hi. Can you explain politics vs war vs romance. How many percentage is it in the drama?I skimmed watch some earlier…
No need to push yourself with 100 eps. S1 and S2 are different story.

You can watch Season 1 first. 50~ eps. It's around the same lenght with this long ballad but NIF got more exciting + smart strategis to take down the political enemies + real battle scenes ofc.

S1 is the main parent story. So they wrapped up the story from S1 in good manner. There is a result and conclusion about everything.

S2 took the place in the same dynasty after a few years of NIF S1 happened. So we are still in Prince Jing's and his descendants reign as the emperor. But the main leads are different characters here. S2 is more about the journey of two generals in defending their country.

Romance? Yes they have. But it's romance between Mei Chang Su and The Princess. Once you started NIF, you would not mind the less amount of romance, because the political story itself is so interesting. It's totally 180 degree different with boring Joseon political stuff.
