There's obviously a strong wuxia element in this drama but I don't see how this drama is a copycat of a known…
There have been so many wuxia dramas at this point, how can anything purely original exist? Writers put in known tropes and plot points because a lot of viewers like to see them.
This comment is not about any of the actor's acting prowess so i like all of them. I am enjoying this drama thoroughly…
There's dramas with way older MLs than FLs all the time, and also "noona dramas" as well. I thought they had great chemistry and will do great together. She's supposed to be his teacher/master, so her being older doesn't bother me at all.
I'm pretty new to makjangs, so can anyone who's seen a ton of them predict the outcome of some of the things I'm wondering about? When this drama wraps up, I'm sure the MIL will be crying bitter tears. But will she ever actually feel badly for way she treated Soo Yeon or just feel sorry for herself for getting caught? Any ideas on how the entire plotline around Soon Yeon's dad will be revealed, if at all? And will Dong Ha become a love interest?
May I know usually such drama at what episode the FL will get her grip of herself ? The drama is going 1/5 she…
It's at 21 episodes now and the FL is realizing that she needs a plan and the backing of more powerful people. Not sure yet how the revenge will happen, but she's at least starting to smarten up and make alliances.
I really don’t get it why people ship Vegas and Pete. Well ever since I’m not in to this kind of storyline,…
Lots of people have those kind of kinks. No, it's not really romantic as it's portrayed, and the VP situation goes way beyond what most people would want in real life. But I think people can understand the impulses behind it. It can be very relatable as a fantasy for people with that kink. And it's not something portrayed very often. FYI, kinks are something you discover in yourself, not something you choose. Like being right or left handed.
just had to pause and rant before resuming the video... So you mean to say Porsche and Kinn tought it was normal…
The book and the series handle this quite differently. In the book Pete was currently Thanakhun's bodyguard and just on loan to Kinn for this one mission, so Kinn assumed he'd checked in with his brother upon returning. He and Pete had had more communication during the mission so there wasn't anything left to debrief. Also, it coincided with a mass vacation for a bunch of bodyguards happening at the same time, so it was already arranged that Pete would be on vacation at that time. Lastly, the tiny island where Pete is from doesn't have cell service so it wasn't surprising that they couldn't reach him. So it was still not great that Kinn didn't at least follow up with his brother about Pete, it was just a lot more understandable why it happened.
Hmm from the perspective of someone who is only watching the show the VP story doesn’t seem rushed to me. I…
I've read the book and am very much enjoying the series adaptation. They took the plot points, characters, and timeline from the book and threw them all into a blender. Events have been blended together or happen in a different order. New events have been added. One character was split into two, others have been merged into one or removed. But they've done it in a very smart way. Not everything in a book translates well onto the screen and they obviously know what works and what doesn't.
The end result is that I never know what's going to happen in the next episode so everything seems fresh and new. But after each episode I know enough about the backstory to understand the deeper motivations for things. It's been really great. The best of both worlds.
I haven't started watching it yet, but I'm a bit worried how they're going to handle things between the FL and…
Two episodes in and I'm thinking of dropping it. Both the ML and FL are annoying af. She's written to be weirdly over-the-top slutty and rude because she lived in the UK (training ground for sluts and rude people, I guess?), but in a bizarre way that no woman on Earth has ever acted like. He's petty, arrogant and rude in a totally unjustifiable way that just makes you immediately dislike him. And he tries to mess up her new job out of spite. At this point I'd rather toss them both out the window. I hope they never get together. The poor uncle. He's the only sympathetic character. I feel bad for him having to deal with these two a-holes.
I haven't started watching it yet, but I'm a bit worried how they're going to handle things between the FL and the uncle character. The actors are 20 and 47. Hopefully they don't make it too romantic between them. I'm mostly going to watch to see Perth in a new role, so I'll give it a few episodes before I judge. Correction: she's 30, not 20
Her ex-husband doesn't seem to know that there is a thing called conscience.. How easily did he tell his ex-father-in-law…
I think he thinks it's worse for his wife to cheat than it is for him as the husband. Obviously I don't agree, but it's a patriarchal attitude. What got me is how easily he believed that his kids weren't his! She's left the house like 9 times in 7 years buddy. How?
The end result is that I never know what's going to happen in the next episode so everything seems fresh and new. But after each episode I know enough about the backstory to understand the deeper motivations for things. It's been really great. The best of both worlds.
