Isn't she just the cutest little thing you've ever seen? I bet she's going to be absolutely stunning when she grows up.

This isn't as good as the original, and it doesn't add anything new to improve the original. It's still the exact same story, but that also means it's way better than Truth or Dare. At least the two FLs are highly capable in their own ways. Whereas the FLs in T/D were completely useless.

She appears very briefly at the end of episode 9 as a teaser. But as of the end of episode 10, her character hasn't actually been introduced yet.

Personally I don't find her attractive physically. But it's undeniable that she is indeed a great actress.

Really? I don't pay much attention to the gender of the commenters, so unless it's really obvious fangirling I can't really tell. There aren't many actresses I would fanboy over, though I would gladly make an exception for Zhang Weina (LWJ's sister in Blood of Youth), along with Sun Xuening and Meng Ziyi, but other than that, I try to be pretty objective when judging dramas. Of course, I do have my preferences, specifically wuxia and mystery/crime, which is why I love this drama so much.

Not only that, he actually referred to him as "Ziyu-didi" (little brother). So he doesn't actually hate him as much as he pretends to.

I think the ultimate villain, whether it's Anonymous or someone else, is really working for neither Gong or Wufeng, but actually trying to destroy both sects. So far, he/she has succeeded in sowing discord within Gong over the succession issue, and pinned all the murders on Wufeng, even though the Wufeng higher-ups were surprised when the former Sword Wielder and his heir were killed, meaning it wasn't under their orders.

She's so freaking adorable in Legend of Anle!

She had one super cute outfit in Detective Samoyeds, even though that was an abysmally low-budget drama. The one she's wearing in her photographic memory montage. I love it so much! Though her acting was one of the worst two out of the main cast of six. Not terrible by any means, just flat and lacking in character compared to the others. Honestly I don't think her acting has changed at all over the years; she's the exact same in every drama.

But I mean, in this drama she is literally a phoenix, so I guess the bird feather outfits make sense?

Usually it's a bad-boy ML with a sweet FL, or a domineering FL with a sweet ML, but here we have a badass and righteous female general trying to tame/civilize her murderous bad-boy husband, but it doesn't seem to be working lol

Her acting was really good in Horizon Tower, but it looks like that was a fluke because it's back to being not so great in this drama. Her expressions just look off when she tries to convey strong emotions.

Xuanhuan is fantasy. It can be confusing because Xianxia is fantasy too. Basically if the story is about the fights between gods/immortals/demons then it's xianxia; if it's about other types of fantasy and magic, then it's xuanhuan. Often, xuanhuan mixes traditional Chinese mythology with western fantasy and mythology.

She looks a lot like Li Yitong 李艺彤 (not to be confused with the more famous 李一桐, which is also pronounced Li Yitong).

Come to think of it, I don't think any of the couples end up officially together! The writer must be single lol.
XS + SKQL = like each other but not officially together
LWJ + YRY = like each other but not officially together
TL + Fairy Rui = he died
LHY + ZYZ = he died
YLX + LMX = he confessed his feelings and she ran away
MCF + JX = he has a crush on her but never pursued it

She looks exactly like a guy too. Her disguise is even better than The Heiress. (Yes I know the character is supposed to be a guy disguised as a girl, but I mean in real life where an actress disguises as a man).

I dunno, the romance is all implied. The only borderline cute couple is LWJ+YRY, mainly because LWJ is a complete airhead and doesn't know how to talk to women. The other couples don't act lovey-dovey at all, and we're just supposed to believe that they're in love. It's like the writer only knows how to write bromance but not romance lol. The bromance and storyline are very good, though fans of conventional wuxia might not like the fight scenes are they are mostly xianxia-style CGI instead of traditional kung fu.

I was very unimpressed with these two actresses in their previous dramas (Castle in the Sky II and Portrait of Beauty), but so far their acting is surprisingly watchable in this drama. Either they improved a lot, or these characters are much more suitable for them. And wow, I did not recognize the ML at all; he looks completely different from when he was the villain in General and I. When I first saw him I thought it was an imposter pretending to be Chen Wende lol.

I'm four episodes in, and even though there hasn't been much plot, there's a lot of comedy and the pacing is very fast, enough to be casually entertaining.

It's not completely open ended. The FL's biggest goal was to vindicate her father, and she achieved that. The ML became crown prince and regent. The rebellion of the crown prince was put down, although he managed to escape and defect to the Kun kingdom, which invades Wei and captures 3 cities. The drama ends with the FL volunteering to lead her father's Night Army against Kun. There is also an epilogue (post-credits scene) where the two villain princes agree to work together. The former crown prince wants his throne back, and the Kun prince wants the FL. So I feel like the drama ends where it should as season 1, but also needs a second season or sequel.

She was also in a 2017 movie called Man Hunter: Red Lotus Murder (Chinese title 侠捕之夺命红莲), so maybe someone can add that. It was the perfect type of role for her: the cheeky, flirty, mischievous, brilliant foil mastermind who's neither completely good or evil. It really reminds me of her best roles ever, Zhao Min and Liu Ying. Unfortunately, I find most of her more recent characters rather boring. She's just alright playing those other types of roles but she really excels at that very charismatic type of character. I haven't watched Unchained Love yet so maybe that will surprise me.
