gets such a low rating because ML is such a loser character, but alas FL loves him. I liked the idea of the story…
Why do you think he's weak? Terrible acting and complete lack of charisma aside, his character is smart and a strong fighter, despite being in poor health.
If I'm reading between the lines correctly, Chi Lan was in love with Mu Yan. That means that in order for her ship with the Crown Prince to sail, Mu Yan has to end up evil and/or dead. Or maybe it's the CP who will end up being the evil one. Either way, she can't be with both, since reverse harem is not a thing in C-dramas.
Bai Yue is a famous doctor, but almost no one knows that he is also the leader of the mysterious Fenghua Valley,…
I mean, it's not like she breaks his heart on purpose. She's just way too nice, so she keeps saving all these evil people who take advantage of her because she's naive and powerful. And then it breaks his heart to have to bury her. On his front, he grew up with no family or friends so he has no social skills and doesn't know how to express his feelings. Plus, as the valley lord, he's cursed to die if he falls in love. So the result is that he's hot and cold towards her.

Not really. ML was more or less in love with her from the very beginning (even though he didn't realize/admit it until her third life), but she doesn't really fall in love with him until her third life. The story is basically her breaking his heart repeatedly by naively trusting and dying at the hands of other men who betray her, and she can't learn from her mistakes because she doesn't remember how she died. But she eventually remembers everything and realizes that he was the one who was secretly always there for her.
RIP Old Hu. He was such a great guy/godfather. I think we all assumed he was evil at the beginning because this actor always plays villains and psychos. Fun fact: he also played Li Yitong's father in her very first drama, Demon Girl. The actress who plays Chilan also had a significant role in that drama. So this is like a reunion of sorts :)

She lives three lives during the course of the drama, which means she dies twice. (Actually she's a plant so it's more like hibernation rather than actual death). Every time she comes back to life, she starts fresh with no memories of the previous life. So basically she loses her memory twice this way.
I havent watched the full episodes yet but I wonder if this Miss Shi is the Qian girl that new Young Master Qi…
We don't know yet. The case is relatively new so it will probably take several episodes before we find out. The most logical explanation is that Miss Shi is the girl that he gave up everything for, but she was raped by Ren and committed suicide, and now he's taking revenge for her. But that's a little too obvious so hopefully the truth will be more complicated and interesting.
I am rooting for Su Jiu Er being half Qi and here is my argument. I'm all for a Qian-Qi partnership when it comes…
Yeah that's the problem with Wulin Heroes, an otherwise cute and lighthearted drama. Even though it's a happy ending, they never addressed the issue of him being human and her being an immortal fairy. Like what is she going to do for a literal eternity after he dies?
Qi people do get the short end of the stick within the Qian kingdom, but if there are Qian people living amongst the Qi in the north, I'm sure their situation wouldn't be any better. Xenophobia is a universal problem, both in fiction and in the real world.
It would be very interesting if the reason why she's so sickly is because she's Qi but never used the stone to control her powers. As cute as she looks when absorbing his "health and longevity," I really want to see her become powerful.
I do that the fact that she likes to play different types of roles. Sure this drama was not as great as I hoped…
One of the earlier roles in her career was as Huang Rong in Legend of the Condor Heroes and that was a pretty naughty/cute type of character. I like her in serious mode though. Royal Nirvana was such a painful drama to watch, but her acting in that was one of the best performances I've ever seen from any actress.
Am I the only who thinks FL looks way cuter here than in her previous dramas? I've seen her in Ancient Detective and To Get Her, and to me a chubbier face is a lot more suitable for her.
I would watch something else first and then come back to this later, so that you don't carry your fresh memories/expectations from BoY into this drama, because they are very different.
Guys, is this a real detective drama like Imperial Coroner, Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty, Maiden Holmes, etc., or is it just a silly romcom disguised as a detective drama, like Heart of Loyalty?
I don't think I've ever watched any of her dramas where her voice is dubbed. She has a very unique and distinct voice that you can recognize right away.
I was looking forward to this drama for so long (since the cast was announced as I absolutely adored Li Hong Yi…
The Prince Regent is super annoying, but he's all talk. He keeps saying he'll massacre these people and those people, but as far as I remember, he never actually killed anyone other than the crown prince.
I think y'all being too hard on the FL. She spent over 1000 years as a plant, buried in the ground. She's been "human" for literally 5.5 years, and part of that time she was back in the ground, hibernating after being "killed." Plus, every time she's reborn, she has no memories, so in many ways she's starting over from scratch, almost like a newborn infant.

I only watched one episode of BoY. I've been putting it off because it's long (40 episodes). So far, I think the story of BoY is a lot more complicated, with lots of characters, while WH only focuses on the main leads. The pacing of WH is inconsistent; some scenes I really love and have rewatched multiple times, while other scenes are boring or cringy and I always skip them.
I really liked her in the Untamed and Ever Night. But then I saw her in Wonderland 2 and her real personality…
Have you seen Rebirth of Shopping Addict? I'd imagine that her personality in real life is very similar to her character in that drama. But I like her better when she's fierce and powerful like in Ever Night. That glare... yum.
