People rarely die falling off cliffs in Chinese dramas lol. Also, they actually only fell a short distance. You can tell from when Prince Ying found them.

The release of full-length dramas is often delayed for a long time after filming, but the trend of making micro dramas with super short episodes is pretty recent. And in the case of SXN, I've watched enough of her dramas to be familiar with how her face has changed over the years as she's gotten older, and this was definitely filmed within the past couple years.

It starts off relatively normal (for a ridiculous and silly romcom) but then it gets weird with the fantasy stuff. FL looks and acts like a poor man's Zhao Lusi, but she's still funny and cute. ML may not be a versatile actor but he's very good at being funny too.

Remember when Consort Lin said she was already in love with someone when she married the emperor? I'm pretty sure her lover was the current Prince Consort, which is why she took the blame and said she's the mastermind behind everything when clearly she wasn't. And I bet Prince Consort is only using her as he doesn't seem to be someone who's capable of love.

I think they probably have a library of BGM and sound effects that dramas can use when they don't have the budget to compose all original music, and so it's inevitable that multiple dramas use some of the same music.

Most movie prequels/sequels of successful dramas are terrible, but this prequel is surprisingly good. Very decent movie.

FYI the character for Prefecture Princess should be 郡主. 君主 means monarch.

A bit of a cliffhanger as He Yuanting told Liuli that the current Censor Zhu was the one who was responsible for a battle that resulted in heavy casualties and almost killed her parents. The episode ends with her getting ready to confront Zhu. Even though HYT was telling the truth, I think it's a trap because the previews show HLL getting framed for murdering Zhu.

The translation is wrong. Crown Princess (taizi = crown prince, fei = consort) would be the Crown Prince's first wife.

Her original title was xianzhu (County Princess), but she was promoted to junzhu (Prefecture/Commandery Princess), the same rank as Jiamin.

Jiamin's mother is a gongzhu (Palace/Noble Princess), which is the highest rank.

As a general rule, daughters of kings and emperors are automatically gongzhu. Prefecture and County Princesses are considered the Emperor's godchildren, and are titles usually given to the daughters of princes and certain high-ranking lords and officials.

Ling works for the evil prince, and ML works for the emperor. The prince used to be regent but lost his power when his nephew ascended to the throne, so he's using Haifang as a base to gather resources to rebel. ML got his peerage taken away and was demoted to magistrate of Haifang in order to secretly investigate and clean up. The bad guys (gang boss Sheng and business association president Wang) actually work for the prince. ML is doing his job getting rid of them, so naturally he's the prince's enemy.

It's sad that one of my absolute favourite actresses, who has been around a long time, is reduced to starring in these short format dramas, which are usually done by newbie actors/actresses who are just starting out and can't get more substantial roles. Just like Zhang Wei Na, she has the looks and the acting skills to be a top leading lady, but life is unfair I guess.

Honestly I don't understand why Sun Yi keeps getting lead roles. She's just a pretty face with no talent. Must be nepotism or something. Meanwhile, way more talented and beautiful actresses get perpetually stuck as second leads and side characters, e.g. Zhang Weina, Sun Xuening, etc.

Yeah I was talking about Twisted Fate of Love. Mingzhu/Feiyan totally stole the show from the FL who was kinda pretty (but not nearly as pretty IMO) with no acting skills.

At first I was confused when you said Wen Wan because I forgot that was the FL's name in that drama, and the evil concubine in this drama has the same name lol.

I don't remember when but I remember him mentioning that his cousin is the real young master of the Tea Gang. It seemed like he was talking about Ji Man.

There will be fighting scenes in the upcoming episodes. According to a preview, ML gets attacked and does have to fight. FL comes and saves him, but He Yuanting tries to shoot her in the back and ML takes the arrow for her.

I find Nie Sangyu's voice a bit irritating. Bai Lu's voice was childish too. I think Jun Jiu Ling's voice matches her face the best.
