I had fun binge-watching this series with my sister.

The last few episodes reminded me of some scenes from The Breakfast Club, but with amazing techno-driven bg music, and of course, zombies.

I'm glad I ignored the critics from this page tho. Gave it a try, then I enjoyed the ride.

I just finished ep 12 today and I am giggling so much with displaced angst lol. I really commend this drama, thought-provoking, heart-wrenching, reminds me of my childhood with all the good and bad (no murders tho!). The kids are such amazing actors. 10 for me.

I got stuck on ep4 and lacked motivation to continue. Will definitely do the jump to ep18 then. I subbed to iqiyi just to see XZ in AT, LOL.

Interesting that your name is the same as the "absurd" of AC -- a primary concept for Camus' literary and philosophical works. Meursault is the (anti)hero of The Stranger, but I understand if you do not remember his name.

GYY's nerdiness in the early episodes appeal to me but I may have misunderstood your previous post (I am only 4 episodes in, I need to catch up!), I had believed that you were referring to GYY when you mentioned "idealism." Turns out it was for the GL character. So I do not know how GL's naivete(excessive idealism?) had cost others.

I have zero combat experience irl so I am truly just a spectator/observer here. I have had quite a few discussions with foot soldiers and military officers tho, so that's primarily where I am coming from.

I should be watching the episodes instead of reading from this page, LoL. Just could not resist. I hope you have a good day.

(To be fair tho, I have also enjoyed my share of "morally ambiguous/grey" characters in all formats: film, series, comics, prose, etc. -- hello, Albert Camus' Meursault, anyone??? -- but of those who could clearly draw a LINE, I say, huzzah)

Yes, he is bit pedantic at times, I read a comment here that says they're (second-hand) embarrassed by his long-winded explanations, too. But as I watch, I was just saying to myself, "yes, yes, that's so right...me too I'd say those things irl, ha ha" imma proud nerd.

I can *so* relate. It's also why I love his character so much, I am glad to see XZ playing this nerdy soldier role. Methinks the military (in any country) needs more of this type of soldier-thinker, apart from being dutiful, as per usual.

XZ as GYY is why I keep watching this drama. I am slow tho, only 5 epis in. Need to find time to binge-watch. Never been gladder to go VIP when iqiyi had that Xmas promo. Lol.

I just find it strange that MDL does not list iqiyi in drama pages where it is currently streaming. Just something I've noticed.

Episodes 4 to 8 with English subs are up now on iqiyi, needs subscription tho.

I am 4 episodes in and so far, so good.

Also I can't help but say that I find their green uniform ugly. :-| I can imagine XZ donning a military uniform with a better fit in, say (insert country here whose fleet had their uniform designed by Hugo Boss).

I am a sucker for food. I started watching this drama for the kitchen scenes. And, uh, Kim Jae Wook tbh.

If the leads had been open-minded enough to consider polyamory then maybe it would have saved them all this trouble. Sighs.

I am trudging on, I have not dropped this drama yet. Oh so slowly tho. I stay only because I genuinely like the actors. In my head though, the bromance gets heated up to 10 and the FL triangulates it.

Everyone gets their happy ending, LOL.

The sad thing is that so many viewers are incapable of waiting and they click that illegally leaked episode 12.

The same person keeps commenting here with that link, too. Season finale legally drops in less than 24 hours, so come on.

I'm watching cdramas to learn more about Chinese history, culture and language. It's more fun for me to know these little details which I normally just find in documentaries. Wish I could visit historical Luoyang someday, too.
