The reviews suggest its all a dream...I had the same question at the end of episode 2 btw
I agree. I only ended up making it through episode 5 in the end because it just wasn't what I was looking for. It seems a nice enough show, but if its just a dream I think that's so heartbreaking especially in the end cause you have to wake up from that. :(
I guess not...it looks like it was totally filmed, edited, and everything too. I'm guessing either a star got blacklisted or the script didn't make the final cut for the censors and too much had to be reshot to make it feasible? Seems such a shame to throw away 50 episodes of work like that.
I love that this has the same two leads from A Familiar Stranger...but omg the characters could not be more different from that show. Its quite funny to see our Handsome General become a very bizarre Emperor now...lol. I'm enjoying it though
So what was the point of curing SML and then having him in the prison cell for one scene? And why did FL spit blood? I watched the finale raw, maybe I missed something?
Will this be a full drama (45-60 min), shorter format (30min) or a webseries with 10 minute max episodes? Does anyone know? I've seen Patrick Quan in a few webseries this last year, wondering when he'll get a chance to be in a regular length drama again ever since I saw him as Su Mu in The Romance of Tiger and Rose, I kept hoping to see him gain some more experience and explore bigger roles.
How can it be a school if there are only "boasts" 2 girls or "boasts" 2 men? How many students are there at each school? Are the rest animals and not humans? I'm confused
Wonderful article that really highlights why this drama was so exceptional. Its amazing how a drama that was only 36 episodes (plus a few 'extras' episodes) could bring so much to the table compared to other Xianxia dramas that are usually at least twice as many episodes and yet sadly very rarely bring that special something to the table. There are a plethora of other Heavenly Realm storylines out there but I'd say only a handful are really magical and drag you in from the first minute and don't let you go even after the last second of it has aired...Love between Fairy and Devil was one of them and I'm probably going to have to rewatch it for the third time sometime later this week. I hope this article brings more attention to the show and helps people who were wavering about giving it a try or not-- to just go ahead and make that decision, watch it, you definitely won't regret it.
I agree with most of the comments about this short drama. They did a lot with little time to do it. Surprised…
I agree! I've never seen the ML actor before. Ryan Cheng apparently just started appearing in things in 2020, but he's older than a lot of other actor trainees, they usually finish training and debut them on screen at age 18-21 . I'm quite surprised at his youthful appearance. They say he's 27 but he looks like he's early 20s!
Wang ze Xuan did such an amazing job, I hope he can move up the ranks from ensemble and go to being a lead or at least being second male lead again, he showed that he absolutely has the skills to do it!!
I'm confused too, because I thought they were only 5 minute episodes but each episode I've found has been 45 minutes…
We are at the whim of those who do the stitching together of the short format dramas, but I'm happy that someone is willing to do it and happier still that someone is willing to add eng subs to them. So I'll wait patiently cause there isn't much else I can do, lol.
I can't find episodes of this after the first 4. Anyone know if there is a schedule of release dates?
I'm confused too, because I thought they were only 5 minute episodes but each episode I've found has been 45 minutes long? Is it the entire season has been stitched together into 4 episodes of 45 minutes? There's also supposed to be a second season that was released in 2021? I'm super confused.
Dang it, there goes my non-existent chance of marrying him!! ๐๐๐ But seriously super happy for them, may they continue to have an amazing and happy relationship.
Its super entertaining but its nothing remotely like a serious epic historical drama....the historical is only in reference to the setting, it all takes place back in older times. If you're ok with an open ending, then I highly recommend you waste a little time watching this cause you'll be giggling out loud multiple times per episode, its a great break from the darker more heavy dramas out there. I wasn't that irritated about the time they spent on the brother character cause it was ridiculous enough to tickly my funny bone. I have a unique sense of humor I guess, cause a lot of people were upset and here I was just having the time of my life ๐ There were a LOT of questions that don't get answered and may never be answered but what are you expecting with the budget and time constraints?
The plot was a real "what even was the point?", the acting wasn't terrible for a debut. I personally wish I had my two hours back, but maybe someone will like it?
