I really enjoyed the majority of the drama, but the forced amnesia plot...sigh, so overdone! I cried a lot during the last few episodes, and what the writer did to Mengmeng and her beloved was unforgivable. Aside from that, this particular director must have had an addiction to statue style kisses, cause the passion was very lacking which I felt is part of what drew the ratings down. This could have been an 8 or even an 8.5 without those issues I mentioned, but I ended up rating it a 7.5
now 40 episodes limit have been lifted... but why was it shelved in the first place?do you perhaps know the reason?
No idea. It might not have passed review or an actor who once was acceptable may now be a on a blacklist. There's quite a few reasons why finished dramas never make it on to the small screen, though they usually work pretty hard to fix it if they can because otherwise they lose a lot of money.
I just started the series, even up to episode 8, the story is trying to project that the FL has fallen for the ML and maybe vice/versa but it doesn't really feel that way. The writer doesn't give a reasonable explanation or scenes that shows a gradually growing affection, it just feels like it was shoehorned in that *BAM* magically she suddenly is in love with him. The chemistry between the two of them is more sibling or best friend coded rather then romantic. I'm still going on though because I'm more interested in the FL's background and what makes her blood special, I have some theories that I'm waiting to see play out. Also curious about the role that Zhao Li Ying play some kind of Immortal...is she good, bad, corrupted or what?
The ML's acting was meh, his brother really had the charisma and chops to be the lead instead. The story was interesting enough to keep me watching, but I feel betrayed that we didn't get to see the dragon baby in the final episode.
Loved 99% of the drama, but the final episode the last 15-20 minutes should not have been that. We wanted to see a continuation of the story we were already watching, seeing her marry "properly" or being pregnant or fighting more....I didn't want to see an alternative timeline.
Iβm gonna assume TXW is too old too since sheβs almost 30, right?
TXW was 26 when she filmed, which is a bit of a stretch to play someone 8 years younger...however, she looks younger and can pull it off. ML is 32 playing an 18 year old, that's 14 years younger than he actually is. It's a bit of a stretch, plus he has a aura of maturity that is harder to stuff back into the naive 18 year old character. I like him and I've liked his other dramas, but I'm not sure I would have cast him for such a young character.
It just finished filming last yeat only.Did you even see the Reuters before? He's not like an old during the filming,…
I haven't seen the Reuters, is that an article? He is 32 though, makeup and camera fancy work can do some wonders, but I hope this is the last high school role he takes, let some of the youngsters do those and he can get back into the historical dramas where he really shines!
No offense but isn't the ML a little old to be playing a high school student? Did they film this a few years ago, hopefully? I really liked him in Blossoms in Adversity and Go Go Squid, but he is 32 now and not early/mid twenties which is when you normally see actors playing high school students.
I just saw a trailer that Youku dropped on youtube, they tend to do that when they're getting ready to release…
Apparently today's word of the day is "Pompous". There are nicer ways to communicate the information that you had. Remove the first sentence, keep the second, fourth, and final sentence and you would be able to pass on the information without alienating your reading audience.
I got bored, 6 episodes in and it's FL gets framed for something, Dowager doesn't believe her until she proves it wasn't her, rinse and repeat every episode sometimes twice an episode.
Overall not too bad, but the villain arc felt forced and how/when did she suddenly have amnesia and wasn't in jail anymore? That felt very weird. I wouldn't watch it again, but on the other hand, I'm glad I did watch it as it had some great moments...tbh, most of those were in the first few episodes though.

They said no foul play and he was found in his car, I think that implies he self deleted?
