depending on how it's done it seems certain rules can lessen so yeah you'll find things that are supposedly banned but end up showing up like reincarnation showing up in a c-drama or time travel in modern times, context matters to the censors. so it's not always a all or nothing situation. and certain bans can be lifted. it seems like with these changes creators are constantly adapting to get things through in well creative ways.

you're right jjwxc sees profit when they realize official english translations overseas are doing well and the community has been active and dedicated abroad. for live action, k-media are definitely picking up on the trends, i've seen some stuff but have mostly consumed webcomics. i know taiwan and thailand produce content for a good time and korea is on it's way to become more active especially as i see more lesbian/gay storylines inserted in their dramas. but i really like chinese bl because i've always been attracted to the lores, culture, myths and society. i find it very rich and engrossing. it will be a disappointing if these creative stories can't be shared for a long time. but you just reminded me i need to watch the devil judge. the kdrama mr. queen made me find the chinese version it's based on called go princess go and it's way more daring than the korean version but still love both!
