It's the same for me, I'm on ep6 and I can say this isn't my favorite version. For me, the Japanese version is…
After a lot of afterthought (too much) I think as far as a HYD adaptions goes. This version is probably my least favorite. It lacks is so many areas. What the others lack they make up for in other ways but this one just didn’t do HYD right in my opinion.
I completely agree on some of your points. Gorya's lack of character development. The lack of romance. The "different…
I agree that she is easily manipulated by seemingly good people. And she's very naive about love and giving people the benefit of the doubt but at this point in the story, I think Gorya would know that Thyme's mom is willing to do anything to get him back/away from Gorya. Obviously, she needed to break up with him so her friends didn't suffer but turning him back into the old Thyme on purpose at his mom's request...? To me, it just doesn't track. Gorya should have been smarter than that about his mom.

No we understand WHY his mom wanted that. I don’t think anyone is confused about that. The issue is that this doesn’t seem to fit with the HYD FL’s character. Was the “death card” effective and made for a very cruel breakup? Yes, but did it fit with the HYD FL character? Not really. She’s smarter and tougher than that. All versions of her are in High School (minus the Chinese version) so the Thailand version isn’t unique in that sense.
I’m quite hesitant in posting this as some people here sees a negative comment and it equates to being an anti,…
I completely agree on some of your points. Gorya's lack of character development. The lack of romance. The "different worlds" issue being totally forgotten about. But the thing you hit right on the head is her leaving him to bring back the old Thyme. WTF was that about? Why would you want to do that to him? Even if his mom was actually dying... 'Oh let me turn this guy back into an @ssh*le right before his mom dies" Where's the logic?
Also, FYI Hana Yori Dango (the japanese version) is going to be on VIki in 2 days.
I watched the Chinese one first and had no idea what F4 or HYD was. I just saw it on Netflix and watched it. Little did I know that it would take me down the Hana Yori Dango rabbit hole. After watching the Taiwanese version I was a bit hesitant to watch another old version but I'm so glad a friend on MDL encouraged me to watch it because it holds up so well. It's definitely the best version. I watched some of the anime but I haven't finished it.

It's so good. It was the 4th adaption I watched after the Chinese, Taiwanese and Korean versions and became my #1. You know it's gotta be good if it's that old and still holds up so well.

Right?! Same! I was actually re-watching HYD last week but stopped when I saw it's coming to Viki because I'm hoping the quality will be better than the streaming sites.
It is a good drama but not my favorite adaptation. This one is maybe 3rd behind the Japanese version and Chinese version. The Taiwanese version might even be better.
Yep I agree with most of your review, but I do think they tied the past to the present really well... But the…
I just wanted a heartfelt confession out of both of them. I want her to have a conversation with him about everything that happened in her dream but even in the car at the very end it’s clear she has kept a lot of memories to herself which I guess I can understand but at the same time, those memories are part of how she fell in love with him. I wanted his reaction to those things his younger self did. But mostly I really wanted him to gain the memories somehow so they could share them together.
Yes it was such a let down. I wanted so much more out of this drama and it just didn’t meet the mark at all.
Lol @ Killer Kitchen cause you’re right. Everyone was horrible!
