"This novel details the journey of our female lead, Liao Ting Yan, a typical, office lady living in the modern world who had transmigrated into the ancient world of cultivation (where normal beings are able to practice the art of cultivation and gradually ascend to immortal status or opt to become a demon), and is granted the opportunity to meet our male lead, Si Ma Jiao, the sole descendant of the founding fathers of the great Geng Chen Immortal Sect (the largest, and most powerful Immortal Sect) who, by virtue of his bloodline, possess extremely powerful abilities.

Due to his past experiences, however, our male lead possesses an extremely bitter heart, a somewhat twisted worldview, and a tendency / penchant to kill. Having been trapped by the Geng Chen Immortal Sect in a secluded, isolated location for the past 500 years and our female lead first meet as the isolated ancestral teacher and a lowly disciple who had been ‘offered’ up by the Geng Chen Immortal Sect (amongst many others) to serve the ancestral teacher. Although our male lead initially views our female lead with the general distrust with which he views the general populace, our female lead’s “salted fish” [1] personality gradually wins her his trust, and she emerges as the sole surviving servant capable of accompanying him as he breaks free of his chains and embarks on his journey of revenge against the Geng Chen Immortal Sect.

[1] Salted Fish – a colloquial term used by netizens to describe a person with no ambition, no goal in life, and simply targets to get by day by day. In this instance, due to our female lead’s obvious (and true) lack of ambition, she has no requests to make of the male lead (and is not seeking anything from him in particular), which gradually causes him to be able to open his heart to her.

Having said, although this novel is set in the ancient times (with Xian Xia elements), this novel conveys, at its root, simply a sweet, typical romance between a relatively neutral female lead (with a heart full of support and love for our male lead) and a vicious / “evil” male lead, with minimal or little angst."

I really want to know HYS's backstory. How did he join WF? How did he become a Raven? What were his emotions when he met YWS? What does he do the entire time that the girls, YQ and YWS, are away from him?

Tbh, he's probably my favorite character. Him and "Elder" Yue.

Guys...someone named bb on dramacool wrote a theory on who they think DZ or Zhou Mei could be which I posted in the "theory/clues" discussion thread under the discussion section. They think either one of them could be YWS's mom because the voice sounded similar to the voice of the lady speaking to YWS's twin in the opening and other things that they wrote. How crazy would that be if that were the case though? Like you would do that to your own children?

I was thinking this could be the case too but I'm not sure. But it would be weird for that alone to be the reason she starts WuFeng.

So Dianzhu is the leader of WuFeng who was originally the leader of QingFeng sect. And the whole thing about QingFeng defecting to WuFeng is false because it's essentially one and the same. The "Feng" in WuFeng and QingFeng comes from the fallen "Feng" line in the Gong Sect. Zhuo Mei used to be a part of QingFeng sect but the sect leader, Dianzhu would not let her be with her lover and cut off the lover's limbs sending the lover back to Zhuo Mei?

Also, SGQ poisoned Dianzhu severely which weakened her but then lost her memory and was forced to train under WuFeng and look for a cure?

Lastly, the "Feng" branch of the Gong sect fell due to war?

Am I getting all of this right? Or is there something missing or something incorrect?

Same. Especially since we found out SGQ's motive for everything was allegedly to get revenge for her family. So how can she just live peacefully and give up poisoning DZ when she has not achieved her goal.

No, because that's what I am thinking will happen. Especially because apparently originally, there was supposed to be a season 2. Or, they will kill her and start training the sister to replace her. But the issue with that is how is the sister going to catch up skills wise to YWS? Also, there is a lot about the Gongs that she does not know and GZY knows YWS's mannerisms so any slightly changes and he will know it's not her.

What is this supposed to be about?

2. What's the real reason behind DZ forming WuFeng and terrorizing everyone?
