No he doesn't get her in the end because of his duty to Gongong and his soldiers. He can't just abandon them for love he's a principled person. He's been fighting a long side them and burying them way before XY came into his life. Xuan and many others have tried to bring him to their side but failed and they all somewhat respect him because of that.

Yes, but not after. He's always loved her. He's just...slow. Lol. And in the novel, he doesn't realize his feeling immediately but during the scene where she's being recognized as Great Princess, he notices all the men looking at her and feels jealous which confuses him a bit.

FFB and XL are the same person. Years ago he met the real FFB who was on the edge of death and he begged XL to take care of his mom and allowed him to consume him. That's why it's hard for Xiaoyao to detect that it's XL during the FFB arc. So he's been pretending to be FFB for a long time. The family didn't know because FFB left so young and they hadn't seen him in years so they had no way of knowing it was XL.
