That's the part I'm confused about. The way she explains it, it seems as if because she harshly rejected him she feels that him doing those things to her cancels out the rejection/abandonment. But no, it does not.

The other angle is that maybe there are things he experienced when he was away that made him turn evil? So prior to seeing his father brutally murdered, the rejection, etc., he wasn't like that? But idk how she'd come to that conclusion.

My last one would be that, since this is a "redo" and not everything is happening exactly the same, she's using it as a clean slate? Cause technically he hasn't done anything like that and we don't know if at this point he's capable of that? But still....
