Netflix had some amazing dramas like Extracurricular and D.P. I'm surprised people forgot already.
I don't think that a show being for mature audience is bad, D.P and Extracurricular were also like this

Yes, I agreed with you on the directing/cinematography. That was very high quality

The truth is independent hotstar production kdrama are better than Netflix one plus they don't show cheap vulgarity.

little women was so boring
I loved the directing in Little Women, it looked like an Oscar worthy movie and Kim Go Eun was great in it, but I expected so much more from the script coming from the same screenwriter who made The Handmaiden and Decision to Leave together with Park Chan Wook. I don't think it ventured too far from the regular kdrama in terms of writing to be honest

Long story short, it's totally a Makjang like Eve. Makjang have mystery elements too and thrilling moments, but it's the way they are written that makes the difference between a thriller and a makjang

Title A Killer Paradox Spoiler
little women was so boring
The killer wsa a bored over the top rich woman who was doing it just to enternain herself, the murder weapon was a rare beautiful blue flower that was super rare and that was so powerful it could kill just by sniffing it, the first victim was alive all long, it turned out she simply faked her death and had facial surgery, InJoo then saves her and defeats the villain by throwing a grenade at her that was handed to her by Doil's father and that she had casually been keeping in her pocket like a pair of keys. And of course you never see the characters really dirtied up even while the world crushes around them. I could go on, but I think it's enough lol

Title A Killer Paradox Spoiler
That's what I wanted to hear. I'm reading so many mixed opinions about it, but the synopsis already gave me some…
The synopsis with him accidentally murdering a client with a hammer reminded me of Lester "accidentally" murdering his wife with a hammer. In both cases they find themselves in a situation much bigger than them, so I thought it might have had a similar vibe to Fargo. I'm not expecting a perfect match (Fargo is so unique that even the latest seasons couldn't replicate what it had) or for A Killer Paradox to be as brilliantly written as Fargo, but I'm hoping at least for a good thriller that can do dark humor right, in a way that feels morbid rather than childish (in kdramaland I think that Bargain and The Deal were the closest to what I'm looking for)

Anyway, I'll take your advice and manage my expectations, that's why I'll let some time pass before watching it. The webtoon had such great reviews that I thought it could have been the kdrama of the year, but the reviews have been much more lukewarm than what I expected

It's because it was a makjang, not a crime drama

I've only just started watching the series (on ep 2) but so far it kind of reminds me quite a bit of Fargo.

Wow a 5 seconds sex scene which lol was his imagination. The way some of you were ranting here i thought was like…
Apparently people believe that Koreans don't have sex otherwise I genuinely don't understand how they can be shocked that a show rated 18+ can have sex.

Mind you, I don't have anything against you, but it's just annoying how those who made this app clearly meant it to be a spoiler free place by making it so simple to tag spoilers and yet people still choose to ignore that button to write spoilers where everyone can see them. It happened with Tell Me that You Love Me, comments were full of spoilers

Girl who may or may not be pretending to be blind and who is also collecting murder weapons. Is this not a spoiler or were people supposed to know beforehand hand that there is something wrong with this woman that makes her more dangerous than she looks? Again, why are you wasting so much energy arguing when you could have simply pressed a button.

You mentioned a girl too. And the things you said about her weren't included in the trailers or in the synopsis. That's called a spoiler.

Look, I don't care about spoilers myself, but is it that hard to put a spoiler tag? It hasn't even been half a day since the show was released

People are still going with the IU is a bad actress agenda? She received praises from the critics for her performance in My Mister, made a great debut at Cannes and made a huge impression on director Kore'eda of all people with how she acted here. That on top of having received many nominations and awards before she was even 30. Can we stop with this nonsense, please?

Normally Netflix will drop all episodes at once, where did you read the weekly schedule ????
Netflix originals (like this one) are either divided in two parts (it's what happened to The Glory, for example) or released all at once, they don't have a weekly schedule. If they're released weekly, then they're not Netflix originals, they're not produced by Netflix but Netflix simply bought the rights to stream them in simulcast

Promoting? That is one effed up claim. Acknowledging the existence of real world affairs doesn’t mean they are…
All those words are wasted for those people. They have a very black and white view of the world and they can't handle when a show portray life as it is and not as how they think it should be

Haven't you watch Mouse (2021) kdrama starring Lee Seung Gi as Main Lead?
It's definitely more common among kdramas that are produced by streaming networks instead of local TV channels. But Strangers from Hell was made By OCN, which was knows for having darker stories compared to the average kdrama.

Usually kdramas tend to have likeable characters because the fans can't stand morally grey characters. Like you said, they want people they can root for and happy endings. Personally I just want a good story, as long as the writing is good then I'm fine with everything, but I do wish to see more and more stories with flawed characters that make me question whether I'm really willing to root for them or not. This drama looks like it could be one of those stories. I've read some reviews about the webtoon and they said that the story will show opposing ideas of justice.
