This is not bad, I like how their relationship is portrayed in a very realistic way compared to the magic of a blossoming love. But something is missing, probably it's the acting, as I didn't feel much passion coming from the leads

He was screaming because he knew he was about to be blinded and probably even killed. He didn't want to die, he didn't want to be defeated, he wanted to continue with the murders (and being blind would have made it a lot more difficult), but he couldn't do anything to defend himself. He was like a wild animal being hunted.

He said in an old interview that he prefers short and petite women that make him feel protective and that he would prefer if his partner stayed at home to take care of the kids because children need their mothers. Mind you, those ideas are surely quite anachronistic, but he didn't say that all women should do this or that we shouldn't work like men do. It was a personal comment about something he would like for himself when asked for his ideal type rather than something that should be like that for everyone. Tbh I think people took it too seriously because they put celebrities on a pedestal.

You're missing the point. I don't care that the show has two consenting adults when it romanticizes an organization that has killed many innocents, many good people that were just doing their jobs and had kids melt in the acid. Vincenzo doesn't say any of this, instead they act like the mafia are some kind of vigilantes that take care of the actual evil criminals when in real life they are the evil criminals. Killing Stalking doesn't romanticize rape, only an idiot with zero reading cimprehension is going to see Sangwoo as a good guy and what he shares with Bum as love. But if somebody watches Vincenzo without knowing what Cosa Nostra was, what happened during the years of lead, la banda della Magliano, la terra dei fuochi at Naples, they're going to think that the mafia ain't that bad.

Honestly I even liked Vincenzo if I take it as a silly funny braindead show with no depth, but I stil think it's offensive toward the victims. People didn't die because of those monsters just so Koreans could make a romantic comedy starring a mafia guy. And it's ridiculous that you think that Vincenzo that shows a bad thing in a positive light, just because it has two consenting adults, is better than Killing Stalking, a horror that actually shows the horrors of murders, stalking and trauma bonding. It's a very superficial way of analyzing things.

This drama is too underrated. I personally loved it. Which dramas were included in their top 10 by the way? I've read somewhere that The Deal was the most watched wave original.

I liked the show, but I actually agree with your review. It seems to follow the typical Korean mentality that suicidal people need to be scolded rather than understood. They kept repeating that he was selfish, but he was at the lowest point of his life and his girlfriend even told that he should try harder despite knowing how much effort he put into finding a job, but according to the writer she's innocent and she shoindn't blame herself while he's a selfish prick that deserves hell.

I genuinely don't understand how they can believe that this kind of perspective could be of any help for suicidal people.

It's 6.1 on imdb. It's actually rare for a show to go below 4

I'd rather see it for myself, Korean fans are a pain sometimes, they go out of their way to nitpick about things that don't adhere to their idea of what a kdrama should be and they give high ratings to the most cliched stories and to makjangs that are borderline soap operas

So, I was looking for news about this drama and I came across this comment. I just had to stop and write a reply even if I'm late.

You gave a 9 to Vincenzo, a show that romanticizes a guy from the mafia, an organization that massacred many people in the past and is still causing damage today, and that has the main cast of characters being proud of calling themselves mafia, and you still have the audacity of acting all holier than thou about a webtoon where the bad guy is actually treated as the bad guy and get what he deserves instead of being clapped as a hero. I hope you realize how much of an hypocrite you actually are or that at least no one takes you seriously.

We really can't have nice things on mdl, any thriller that doesn't have romance, 16 episodes of reused storylines or that isn't makjang number 536378 gets downrated to oblivion. God forbids Korean writers try to do something a little different from the norm.

It's quite graphic in some parts, but nothing too exaggerated if you're used to watching violent thrillers
