I agree with you on this one! ZRN really stood out to me this time with her acting because we all know BJT was…
Absolutely! There have been so many great stories and plots that fell flat due to miscasting like when leads are chosen more for their popularity than their actual acting skills. That’s why it’s always such a relief to see a casting decision that truly hits the mark wrt both ML & FL
We all know BJT is a powerhouse when it comes to acting & he’s delivering as always. But who really surprised me the most is Zhang Ruo Nan. Her subtle expressions are so good. If you watch closely, you’ll see how she expresses even tiny flicker of emotion, making you feel it all right along with her. This level of acting nuance is exactly what’s needed from the FL, especially given how much the plot revolves around her traumatic past... Super Impressed & Great casting call for leads I must say.
Lol, you posted a stupid ‘fanboy’ comment & got owned. Stop pretending like it didn’t hurt your feelings 😂 Next time, do better to avoid embarrassing yourself like this
Really? I like it so far, I wonder what exactly you think is wrong with it?
I am so sorry. I am unable to look past the awful acting, cgi, poor stunt choreo, dubbing etc. There's just too many flaws to continue for my preference. Ofcourse like i said, please enjoy the show if it's to your liking !!
The comment section in MDL exists for opinions—positive and negative. I watched the show, disliked it, and shared my thoughts. Why does that bother you so much? Are you so insecure about your "favorites" that you need to guilt-trip anyone who doesn’t praise them? Not everyone has to worship the ground they walk on.
Stop with the moral policing. People have the right to express their opinions without having to cater to your delicate sensibilities. If you can’t handle seeing criticism, maybe don’t scroll the comment section where *gasp* different perspectives might exist. Grow up and realize the world doesn’t revolve around your "positive vibes only" bubble. 🍀

A lot actually. The acting from both main leads? Terrible. The fight scenes? Atrocious. The dubbing? Unbearable. The scene where she escapes from the ML? Awful execution. Overall? Feels extremely amateurish.
Two episodes in & I had to bail as the show was screaming amateur hour in so many departments. But good for you if you are enjoying it though :)
It's better to be wary of ratings here on MDL. This is rated higher than Under the Skin season 2. Make it make…
It's the actor/idol fans doing their thing. As is the case with most shows here. Pretty common in MDL. Best way is to watch few episodes & decide if it's your thing or not. I have started doing that ever since I figured this.
Zai Zhilu is an amazing actor & easily one of my favorites, but once again, he’s been cast as a childish character when he’s capable of so much more. I really hoped this role would show a more mature, intense side of him...for ex: something like Wang Xingyue’s character in Double, because I know he could pull it off perfectly. Instead, it looks like his character will be the typical spoiled, immature male lead who grows gradually as show progresses, a trope which I personally find boring & he has done this typical character so many times already ( wind direction, special lady, calorie boy based on what i recall). So it's quite jarring to see him play the same role once again 🤦
Now onto the show, the cases in these first 5 episodes were pretty basic and not that intriguing either. The FL is supposed to be smart, but her submissive nature whenever she’s bullied is off-putting. Unless she shows some strength instead of giving in, her so-called 'smart'ness won’t be that interesting to watch in later episodes. Honestly, it’s disappointing so far, but I’ll give it 2 more episodes to see if it gets better.
Prefer K-dramas the way they are. So sick of western dramas throwing in gratuitous sex scenes I just end up fast…
I get your feelings but it's super unrealistic to expect K-dramas to stay the same as before, given the rise of OTT platforms in big 2025. Unlike traditional TV, which is censored by the KCSC, OTT platforms allow directors full creative freedom. Korean cinema, especially historical films, has pioneered bold and graphic sex scenes & often way more explicit than Western ones. What you're seeing now in shows exclusive to OTT platforms (same as Queen Woo which is also an OTT exclusive) isn’t new or "Western influence".. it's simply the uncensored storytelling Korean filmmakers have always excelled at, now carried over to dramas simply coz they have the freedom to do so now without the KCSC censorship.
I understand why people probably loved it, but I personally feel conflicted. The ending twist left me feeling like I wasted my time. I wouldn’t have minded if the FL ended up loving the guard, given the amount of time they spent together as Zhong Xiwu character wasn’t developed enough to feel like a real potential love interest—she even had more chemistry with her ex-husband than with him. The acting was great, no complaints there, but the revelation that the personal guard was just an imaginary character the FL conjured up felt like a betrayal. It made the entire journey feel hollow. But that's just my opinion.
This is one of those shows that actually took the 'Reverse-harem' tag seriously. The FL had so many admirers. lol. A good watch imo except I couldn't really dig the ML. Wish there was someone more commanding & expressive as FL was hard carrying mostly
A feel-good attempt, yes but the romance ain't it for me. A guy falls for a girl at first sight, stalks her, and forces his way into her life... a tired, uninspired trope that feels outdated in 2024. The true heart of the film lies in the sisters’ dynamic, which deserved to take center stage
I recently watched this. Have to say the intriguing plot deffo got me going all the way but I always felt like liu ping loved sima yi more than the empress like bro got mad excited about sima yi than his wife every single time 😂 But god the ML is incredibly annoying here. Like bro took the 'benevolence' to a new different level that made him stupid af in many occasions. I honestly found him incredibly weak till the very end.
This drama is not at all like Fireworks of my heart except for the fact the FL is a doctor - the story is very…
Lol, what are you on about? Both are literally second chance romance. I mentioned 'core plot' and not entire plot. A little reading comprehension helps.
And I can already feel the twist coming... bet the stalker’s somehow tied to the FL’s dead friend, out for…
Perhaps I’m entitled to critique a drama as I please, without unsolicited opinions from random strangers telling me what should or shouldn’t suit my taste.

And I can already feel the twist coming... bet the stalker’s somehow tied to the FL’s dead friend, out for revenge or whatever. Like, please... I’m begging for a shred of creativity here. If that’s the angle they go with, I swear I’m deadass dropping this show on the spot.
Just started the first episode... I mean, I could maybe forgive the whole bomb defusal scene (hilarious, btw), but damn, the core plot feels like a carbon copy of Fireworks of My Heart. At least in Fireworks, the ML gave her the cold shoulder for a long time... which, let's be real, she deserved but here? Bro's down bad already by Episode 2. Like, what even was that friend's wedding scene? Bruh, you haven’t seen her in years, and suddenly you’re jealous? HOW. WHY. Make it make sense. Add to it, ML acting isn't that appealing or good besides the good looks.
And don’t even get me started on the cliches... Why can’t we ever get a coherent storyline without these forced, overdone tropes? Such a disappointment... for now.
P.S. Just started Episode 3, and it somehow gets worse, lol. But I think I’ll stick around for the suspense (because that's kinda intriguing). Otherwise? Yeah... not a great start, in my honest opinion
