Those mature ratings you mention are different from OTT shows. TV shows have strict censorship in S.Korea & those shows are evaluated based on their censorship laws. So it won’t have heavy nudity, violence & gore. Whereas OTT gives more freedom & lenient & aren’t abiding any strict censorship laws. Their R rated means you can expect everything & it’s only meant to keep underage away from it. Hence audience like you are used to that tv meant for ratings & assuming any show that’s rated as mature have only your assumed levels ‘mature content’. My comment was calling out this specific ignorance. It’s 2024. I might sound petty here for naming them just coz you asked for it like a gotcha moment but that’s my whole point. All these shows were R rated & were advertised as one. Just coz people let themselves be uninformed doesn’t make their bitchin about ‘R’ rated scenes in a ‘R’ rated show valid. It’s brazen stupidity at it’s finest.

The whole purpose of rating a show as R is to make the audience prepare for everything from violence to nudity to any extreme. It could be just insinuated sex, one brief nude/gore scene or it could be several scenes with prolonged nudity & graphic scenes. So it’s a ‘you’ problem if you assume R rated means only to expect drinking & expletives. That’s not very sound thinking. If you are gonna be whining about a R rated show having nudity, it doesn’t make you look very smart, does it?

Your point doesn’t make sense at all in that context. Because this was never intended for TV. It’s for OTT. Always advertised as one. Things have changed since OTT came into the picture. That’s why a lot of R rated shows have started making it’s way in recent trend at the same level as korean movies as opposed to old school kdramas. So whose fault you think it is if you went into this expecting an old school kdrama experience for a recently made R rated show meant for OTT release & that too a period drama at that? They can’t have nudity on shows meant for TV due to censorship. It’s just ignorance at play here if your expectations were different.

And as for adding the tags, ofcourse the tags will get added in a day or so. People have to watch, add it, get it approved etc. it takes a day atleast. I don’t know if you are aware of this but that’s how MDL works. The cue for having your expectation set is the rated R for OTT🤷‍♂️

But it doesn’t change a thing reg the weird behavior of trashing a R rated show for it’s mature content. Such levels of blatant ignorance cannot be encouraged under the pretext of ‘oh we are old school kdrama watchers, it shocked us to see nudity in a R rated show released in OTT in big 2024’. But it’s not like this came out of nowhere no? There have been ample K-dramas with nudity, like Somebody, Hit the Spot etc to name a few from recent memory.
