For those hesitating if they should watch this I say YES give it a chance it is way better if ur binging it. I saw everyone’s frustration which is valid especially if ur waiting week to week just for things to not move forward much but as a binge it just felt like a slow burn. Now if u want something more romance heavy then no this is not for u. But I usually like more romance heavy shows and I still enjoyed this. The twins plot along with all the issues interested me enough that the tension between the leads kept me watching. All the side couples were boring/random to me and in general this show had a lot of potential but it was doing too much. Should’ve stuck to a few plot points and gone deep into it. But the leads have chemistry and went for it with the kisses so I do hope they get a better show.
Honestly so concerned for this show why has Hanyang ghosted everyone. Thank god Jeff is always talking about the show but it’s not in his hands and he put money into this show I feel nervous for him. Hanyang has gone silent& only post food ads on twitter once a month wtf is going on. There’s not even a date for a trailer and all the filming is done. Hanyang is looking so sus especially cause the Mew show by them got announced and shot earlier than Wuju and that to is apparently still in post production for waaay longer& the original editing team had issues so were fired and still no updates on that show. It looks like Hanyang has a pattern. Which is a shame because they were doing nice bts clips of the cast.

I expected more family backstory for Jade or more of his inner thoughts and reflections about Mai everything is so surface level. The show can at least balance things out by giving more development with the side couples. Uea and King literally on screen to ask one question to Jade and then to make some flirty comment about going home. Gus and Tong I had faith in but it’s the same thing very surface level I’m glad Gus finally got mad cause it made no sense that he kept being fine with the cold rude attitude. I just wish they gave Tutor Yim a better show and saved the budget of this show to go to a better script. Cause this show isn’t doing any of these actors any favours as we know engagement on social media matter for the actors to get more jobs.

This show must be a joke some type of experiment to see how far fans will go to support. No way did they get delayed& spent soo much time revising the script and this is the best Dmd came up with??? No wonder Tommy/Jimmy dropped this cause how can u seriously play these cartoonish characters. If there’s really not much story in the book then add some why is there such a heavy storyline about ghosts is Jade gonna be a ghost whisperer or something. This show is giving me Lazy Town the kids show especially with Jade and his high angled close ups and his growly uneven voice like what’s up with the cartoon voice he wasn’t this bad in Bed Friend. The scenes are coming so out of nowhere I keep assuming everything is a dream sequence. I feel sooo bad for the actors poor Tutor and Yim like how do u even play these characters. Every time Jade is being Jade I just wonder how Mai is supposed to react to him like when Jade was smacking him near the elevators was that supposed to be cute or playful it felt more awkward because that’s so inappropriate of a boss to intern relationship. I’m always left wondering how to react and how is this behaviour endearing. The stalker plot was literally 1 ep & I can’t believe Zo was just giving out all his info. Joke’s family issue came up& got solved in the last ep. There was such an imbalance in their relationship even Zo family issues got time to develop but we find out Joke’s in the end. Joke was just an accessory to Zo in this show it’s just all about Zo. It seemed like Joke was forever pursuing Zo even after being in a relationship like he’s begging to spend time with Zo it just got sad. Especially towards the end Zo was ready to ditch him he’s just never an active participant in their relationship he’s just there to get the benefits of what Joke does for him. Every time Zo said he appreciated and feels bad for how much Joke does for him I think ok now the relationship will feel more equal and will develop and Zo with be there for Joke but then it’s all about Zo again. That’s why it was shocking how his mom pointed out who’s been there for him all this time and Zo still had to think about it for a minute! And he only bothered to chase after him to the lobby and then almost gave up like Joke deserves better. I’m glad he stepped up for Joke with his family but damn in the last episode they added everything. I liked that there wasn’t the typical type of drama but that doesn’t mean they did well with the plot trying to avoid it.

You should check out the eng translation on the Meb app it’s official and there’s a couple chapters free as a preview. I read it because their story seemed darker and deeper from Cutie Pie and I got hooked I bought the book after the preview.
Well it’s finally ended and it was a decent show but they could’ve done wayy better which is so disappointing with how much time this took to come out. They started filming this so late and I thought it was because they planned the book to show transfer carefully but the execution fall short in every way. Maybe because I read the book that I had higher hopes but I’m really confused why they made the show so short. They didn’t establish the kids bond and being good for each other and the reasoning why Yi was tasked to caring for Diao and so the after math of the Tiger attack is huge on Yi. But the show glossed over it and it looks not that deep so it’s confusing to ppl why it still affects Yi even years later. Like to the point he has nightmares and didn’t want to get close to Diao or marry him. The trauma and all the reasons why Yi kept his distance and is the way he is was not shown well. I can’t believe he just told the whole background story during the hospital scene to Lian. It’s kinda like the director chose to say what the story is instead of showing it throughly. Same with the break down of Yi after he finds out Diao still has nightmares and Yi breaks glass all over feeling guilty. It should’ve been more detailed and longer it’s a turning point but in the show Diao just comes down the stairs and hugs Yi knee says a few things and it’s over. The story of Diao family being horrible they basically gave some flashbacks and just evil smirks and that’s it . They only have two scenes mid way through about their pov and they don’t even show what happens to them in the end. Again the show tells us instead of showing us. And the kinda redemption arc on Diao dad is so rushed and last minute it’s giving mixed signals like why should I care for his dad. There was also too much comedy when they could’ve kept the scene serious and too much pauses on the actors faces for no reason. Like when the character looks at the hand on their shoulder for way to long and the camera shoots it for way to long or when someone stops thinks and nods to themselves I think all of that made it so unnatural. That’s why I think MaxNat acting was stiff sometimes cause the constant lingering and making everything comedic.

You should read the book it’s better. The accident that happened when they were kids was Yi fault it was Chen family tiger at their house so his family was guilted into paying Diao family back to take responsibility over Diao cause he lost his memories after the tiger accident. Diao doesn’t remember his childhood before the tiger attack so Yi and Diao are set to be married as a contract when they’re older to also secure Diao family is always getting paid and Yi and his father genuinely care for Diao so they want to care for him. Now if they don’t get married and it’s Yi fault they have to give the race track over to Diao family but if Diao breaks it his family have to hand over their land to Yi and the race track is partly built on Diao family land. So in the end Diao tries to run away so he can escape the contract and be at fault so his family leaves Yi alone. Now the car accident was meant for Diao cause it was his car and his step brother is a mechanic and messed the car up thinking Diao would die. If Diao died in Yi care then his family would have to give even more money in damages and they assumed Diao had property and stuff in his name that would then get transferred to Diao family if he died.
Honestly the pacing is throwing me off it feels like things are moving fast with all the background info given in the first two episodes it feels like there was nothing but fluff in ep 3 which is fine but when there’s misunderstandings to clear it’s a bit odd that this was a fluff ep until the end. Is everything really gonna be cleared up next episode cause that’s fast I know the car mystery will take until the end. I don’t think they should lean into the comedic side too much it’s taking away from their serious situation. I would’ve preferred it if they sprinkled into the background info as the episodes go by.

I honestly don’t know I only watched it on IQIYI but I did see on twitter that the subtitles are better on YouTube. But uncut seems to be only about nc not longer scenes so I don’t think there was much difference. But if u find out let me know.
I waited to watch it on Iqyi I hope there will truly be a difference between the uncut and the YouTube ver. like longer eps not just nc scenes especially with 8 episodes I hope the pacing is done well. The first episode was a journey I enjoyed it but a lot of back and forth in the timeline. I was surprised to see them including the Cutie Pie storyline I almost wanted them to just start over but I like this too. I really wonder how they will explain the drifting apart after all the time together. The quality is so HD and smooth they definitely gave off the grand vibe the books gave. There’s a lot more comedic moments than I thought there would be it’s cute but I hope it doesn’t get in the way. I can’t wait for the next episode Max and Nat did a great freaking job they’d so expressive.
