I think he must also feel that a lot of people around him have to care for him because he's a marquis, but she thinks he's some random guy. Even if there are lots of people around him, I don't think they're trying to literally provide for him. It's pretty funny and ridiculously adorable. She's like, "Don't worry, I'll feed you!!" She dotes on him quite a bit and likes him for him, without knowledge of his status. After everything they've gone through together, he knows she means it 100%, with no conditions (provided he isn't lying, which he is lol).
