I agree. they’re just not a good match. Their thinking didn’t fit so they don’t fit. If they worked out early in and even got married they would have argued a lot. it was being apart that taught Xu to understand her pov better. if they had been together early on he would’ve stubbornly clung to his own ideas of what is right and constantly blamed her upbringing for her passion and ambition, completely misunderstanding her
