When she said “okay” after he said “let’s try to work things out together” you could see his eyes start lighting up like crazy and freeze. He closed his eyes and was probably thinking I have to behave myself. I have to behave myself. But nope. He tossed it out 10 seconds later 😂 it was a valiant fight though lol. In reality, he heard her right but all his heart heard is “I’ll marry you” 😂
He’s been mostly prim and proper. I didn’t actually expect him to kiss her before their marriage, especially not before they had settled on if she would actually marry him or not!! She’s not that shy. I was like, sis, where are those hands going😂 She put them on his neck like it was nothing lol. Even he was surprised for a bit there. And then she went back to her room saying she didn’t have to marry him even then😂she’s so cute😭 also, what did she ever do to that cousin of hers? If the rumor actually had Chen’s name instead of Wang Zan’s I would be more upset and worried for her, since it was true. He really did sleep over at her family’s place, and would make it plausible. But Wang Zhang didn’t even. People believe anything
If the softer part Ye Xian could come out more consistently like it did when he picked up “their” cat, he would be such a great person. There’s a good person in there but it’s buried pretty deep😭 I just hope he doesn’t end up a villain because when I look at him I just see so much potential. Not as her partner of course. Not since he hit her. I just relate so much to someone who is trying to find their footing and can’t figure it out. But he really makes such bad choices and is so stubborn headed that if he finds redemption, it’ll probably come at a really high price. When you can’t take care of yourself, you cant take care of someone else.
i also want to try reading the novel (haven't watched the drama yet)!! but i am scared it is too toxic...
hmm, I really didn’t feel like that, personally. They did have tough times a lot but the good moments were really good too. The book does start with their childhood though so a good part of it happens while they’re kids. Just good to know
😂 It’s actually nothing serious. In the book, she made a drawing and said the drawing his/their daughter. Not that she was pregnant or anything. They were just kids at that time
I read the original book this was adapted from and really loved it so much. I went through a few episodes of this and noticed that they changed small things here and there that ultimately made many things seem a bit more childish and less impactful. The scene of him finding her in Hongkong vs how it happens in the book and the issue about their fake baby too really show the issue. The way it happens in the book is far more grounded and keeps the characters more interesting imo. It’s almost like they kept the object of the events that happened in their lives but changed how it happened completely. They’re small things, but change how the characters seem so I don’t even know why they were changed. After thinking about it though, the writers must’ve thought being more dramatic would be more fun for tv. The show has lovely cinematography though and the actors are very good. I just love the story a lot so I want to yap about it a bit. The book is so good. I wish I had the downloadable epub version of the English translation so I could have a copy for myself.
