She’s not dumb, she’s just rash. She has been rash from the start. The stakes are just higher now and she doesn’t understand how careful she needs to be about the rules of war and what not because she doesn’t know what those are, how they work or that you need to be careful about that. She’s used to just getting things done asap. She’s like any other person. She excels at some things and struggles with the others. She’s not perfect just because she’s the FL. I think he must also feel that a lot of people around him have to care for him because he's a marquis, but she thinks he's some random guy. Even if there are lots of people around him, I don't think they're trying to literally provide for him. It's pretty funny and ridiculously adorable. She's like, "Don't worry, I'll feed you!!" She dotes on him quite a bit and likes him for him, without knowledge of his status. After everything they've gone through together, he knows she means it 100%, with no conditions (provided he isn't lying, which he is lol).
