The 15th is actually just rumor for Hi6 currently. ARP is going so there were notices saying she did be going too because they thought it was to promote Coroner's Diary, but her studio said it wasn't for the drama promo.

So it is uncertain if she is even going, it might just be ARP going there separately as a guest (not for drama promo).

Yeah, no wonder they said the episode would air at the end of the month. They probably realized early on that there were some issues but couldn't do it any earlier since everyone has their set schedule. I saw that LLD's current drama wrap-up will be on 4/9-4/10 so hopefully she can go (if they do need to refilm).

But apparently, Tencent messed up with filming for that new variety show that TJC, LLD, GHY, and HSR went before to film for the pilot episode to promote Filter. It is why the first episode is taking so long to air. It is now rumored that they have to refilm the episode. It seems like TJC will go to film for the episode on 4/16 but not sure if the other can make it. 💀 Again, just a rumor for now.

Yup, and it is not like these actors/actresses can keep doing idol genre/historical romance dramas forever. They all need to move on eventually and that will be the true test of their staying power aka if they even have the acting chops to carry a realistic genre drama that can air on national television.

Oh for sure. 😂 He is doing so well so it does upset his antis a lot. Not to mention he actually has the talent to back it up so it is not likely he will fail unless he has some house collapse, which is not likely at this point as he is in his mid-30s.

Yes! I think the audience had their own "filters" going in with this drama and expected the drama to go a certain way based on their comfortability with these types of tropes but this drama shattered all of that. They expected a big "blowout" with this type of trope but if the viewers had been following the characters and their logic, they would have known it wouldn't be that type of long-lasting angst.

Yes, both TJC and LLD had experiences with "non-ideal" weight (+ height for TJC) in their careers and had dealt with comments about it. LLD especially had been getting comments about her weight/body shape since she was 19 years old (and it definitely made her even more introverted). In addition, she filmed back to back BE dramas so for the past 1-2 years before filming Filter, she mentioned she had a hard time regulating through that. She said filming Filter made her really happy and TJC basically "pressed" on her humor button so she really enjoyed working with him. This drama allowed her to get back to how she was years ago (able to express herself more, let herself go more, be more outgoing again, etc.). I think this drama served as a stress relief for both of them and allowed them to self-heal for sure. It is also why when people make comments now about their height/weight/looks, people are just like, go watch "Filter". 🤭

Filter really did so well in China for it to have a seminar held by the China Television Arts Commission.

Love that TJC mentioned this drama's focus on the characters as individual first before focusing on the romance. In order for the romance to work, the audience has to come to love the characters/witness their growth and want them to do well/be loved. The romance will naturally follow. He also mentioned this drama's focus on the growth for both the female and male characters and the realistic themes this drama touched on (gender norms, work pressure/position, self-esteem/self-identity, etc.). Does a woman have to be beautiful and fragile to be a "big female lead", etc.

He also spoke about the drama touching upon insecurities women and men might face such as SCC with her looks and TQ with his weaker physical abilities and how that all had to do with societal norms.

All I got to say again is that I love and appreciate this drama so much. They also selected their cast so well because this cast understands the deeper meaning behind this drama so much and have very in-depth connections with their characters.

Side note: The number of ratings on Douban is still increasing. It will hit 173K soon. 🎉

Awesome, these seminars are rarely conducted with these idol-like dramas, so it really shows how amazing "Filter" did. People have been asking for it to be aired on TV since it is fit for a family viewing, but we shall have to see.

Melon means rumor. Melons that come from certain accounts are legitimate while some are made up, so it is always best the take melons with a grain of salt. 🙂‍↕️

I dropped TG because I don't care for the acting and the plot has too many plot holes, but I get why people would like it for the "thrill" and the more interesting portrayals of the female characters.

And yeah, a C-drama doing well in China >>>>>>>> internationally. I-fans especially on MDLs rate certain dramas so high only because their favorite actors/actresses are in it and then get shocked when Douban scores show the opposite in China. 😅 They also seem to think a drama having tons of views = good when that's not always the case since a lot of controversial dramas get high views/stats especially with promo but it doesn't mean they are seen as good work.

For sure, LLD's acting is solid and she is an amazing actress. She puts her heart into her characters so I am sure she will do well as always. I just hope this drama's plot/editing can match her hard work and talent. 🙏

Yes, just look at the recent "The Glory" drama... XYL is so wooden yet there are people literally defending his acting and people had a lot of issue with FL's ending (married to him, her power tied to his, etc.). The highlight of that drama for many people was the relationship between the mother-daughter yet he gained fans just because he is the ML in that drama despite not even acting well.

Yeah, I am not surprised. I am busy defending the FLs in dramas half the time because the fans of the actors/MLs start attacking the FLs when the FLs does anything that goes against the MLs. MLs are allowed to have shaded of grey but FLs? Rarely.

Yeah, these platforms tend to invest in actors more, so it becomes obvious when they try to push for the actors especially in FL-centric dramas.

FL-centric dramas tend to do better than ML-centric ones (the MLs in those have to be REALLY good at acting like Zhang Ruo Yun) so if the ML (even the second ML) is an interesting character in a FL-centric drama, the actor tends to blow up. It takes longer for actresses to grow in popularity while with actors, it can just be one popular role and that raises their popularity to new heights. 😔

I am just hoping this is just them being messy outside of the drama and that they don't try to mess around with the drama itself. In the novel, the ML doesn't even appear until way later but there is no way that did happen in the drama adaptation which I get. I just hope they don't try to push for a strong!FL that becomes "weaker" as the story progresses in order for the romance to work and for ML to save the day.

I remember seeing comments from people saying they thought TQ would say he was pregnant when him and SCC were being drilled by SCC's parents about the supposed pregnancy. 😂
