Wasn't the best actor, but did have pretty good kiss scenes. Honestly it's sad and annoying to see people against him just because he came out as gay. I mean he's still cute, and he is still doing his job as an actor. I really don't see why people think it's their business or right to tell someone who they have to be. Just let the guy be.
It turned out that the real trigger for the death of the gentle Empress was when Fu Heng's wife boinked the emperor…
Yeah that too, I forgot to mention it in my comment above. I was soooooooooooooo done with that girl. Like you already have the guy but you still tying to do shit. She did more than she had to.
I just realized that the main girl and the king were the only ones who got a happy ending. Like everyone else died or something. For me, it's like everyone else had to give up their happy ending for the king and main girl to have their happy ending. How sad is that?
Her character in the Palace of Yun Xi deserved a better ending. Although not in the beginning, I liked her character towards the middle and end. I hope she gets more acting roles.
Why can't they ever make a harem drama where the girl doesn't end up with the king or a prince who is about to be king? Why can't she just end up with a guard or someone useless? When I found out Ying Luo didn't end up with Fu Heng, I thought it was pretty sad. He loved her so much, and yet she ended up becoming the King's concubine. The ending for them was just too sad. They could have had a nice life together but nope, shit just had to happen.
And I just really can't bring myself to like the king. He is such an asshole. It was because of him that Ying Luo couldn't be with Fu Heng. He was always saying how she's a bad person and blah blah blah, but everyone knows the real reason why he didn't want them to be together was that he wanted Ying Luo for himself. Also, honestly, I think the reason why the empress died was because of him. Yes, she lost her son and seemed to be a bit insane after, but if he had been more thoughtful and considerate of her and actually really care for her, he wouldn't have kept on saying stuff like, "You have responsibilities" or "You will always be the empress so conduct yourself well" and shit. I think that was the last straw for her. She was already devastated enough about losing her first child. She then risked her life to painstakingly give birth to her second child, but she also loses that child. She was already exhausted from all the shit and just wanted to leave everything, but the king still added all the unnecessary shit to her. And then after she dies, he still has the audacity to say that he will never forgive her. Like boi, have you ever considered what she has given up for you and done for you?
Another thing that I have to say is that why do Fu Heng's friend or/and all those people make it seem like Ying Luo was a bad person or like she wasn't that faithful just because she became the king's concubine. Fu Heng married someone else before Ying Luo became the king's concubine. I get that he married someone else to protect Ying Luo, but I really think that if he had tried hard enough, they could have been together without him having to marry someone else. And also, it's not like Ying Luo married the king to get wealth or anything. She did it to protect her friend and get revenge for the Empress. It got on my nerves when people were acting like she was a bad person just because she became a concubine. They didn't shit about him having a wife already so why do they have so much to say about her? Double standards.
Okay so I stopped watching up till ep 3 a few months ago and now I'm picking it up again, but right now I'm finding it really hard to like the main couple, especially the main guy. He has a wife but he's still constantly flirting with the main girl. I mean I know that he didn't love her to begin with and I understand that he still loves his ex, but can't he be a bit more responsible and like actually try to take care of his wife. You barely see him worrying about her and it really makes you wonder whether they are really husband and wife.
Update: Still don't like the main couple. I found the main girl to be super unlikable after she basically told the main dude's wife to try and hook up with the main antagonist to "bring out the good in him", while her little self was off flirting and talking around with the main dude. It's as if she was saying since they had already done the deed (the main antagonist basically raped the wife) then it's okay if they do it more. Like are you kidding. That was and still is one of the dumbest things ever said in the drama. And the most aggravating thing was how she was saying it with the face of "it's the right thing to do", or "it's for the best". And also, they aren't even strangers to each other, they were friends before all the shit happened. but she seriously and basically just told her friend to whore her self off "for the greater good". Some friend she was. Wouldn't you want to get her out of that situation in the first place if you were acting like such a good person. After this I didn't even feel bad for the main girl at all when she was crying about how she and the main guy can't be together and shit.
I'm not saying the wife was all that either. Because of her hesitant ass, the mother got shot. and like she did have this bitchy little attitude that made her annoying and dumb in moments of the drama. But then if you think about it from her point of view, she has no one to really look out for her. Her husband doesn't love her and from the looks of it, he could care less if she died or not. You seriously don't see that many scenes of him trying to find her or anything, it's always him trying to look for the main girl. And hell, depending on the main antagonist, who did a 180 turn towards the end and started liking the main girl, fuck he never treated her truly in the first place. He was talking about loving her before and shit, but when he was pouring poison down her throat, it sure hell didn't look much like love to me. The mother and sister of the main guy were dependent on each other, they did not have the time to care enough about the wife. And the friends of the main guy, for some reason I felt like they started hating on the wife so quickly. I get that she was being slow as hell when they went to rescue them, but man the friends were honestly kind of rude to her. And I feel that was because everyone viewed her as the mistress of the main antagonist and like just totally forgot that she was raped and was forced into the situation like everyone else as well. Honestly, I get that feeling from everybody, which is kind of sad.
From what I heard from the novel. (Anyone can correct me if I’m wrong) His first wife was a force marriage that…
But then doesn't that mean that he was cheating on his legal wife then? I mean even though you don't love her that doesn't mean you bring in another girl.
I agree with what you said about the male lead. I remember there was also a scene where he tried to force her…
I agree too. After watching the first 3 episodes, I stopped and just skipped to the end. The way they wrote the new main guy and how he was portrayed didn't make him seem like a gentlemen at all. In the older version, he was kind, gentle, and was that much of a gentleman. I was kind of disappointed by the new version and the way they made it. The new main guy just seemed annoying to me after he kept on insisting that he was going to marry her even though she said no. Before he was talking about how he wasn't going to force her to marry him and stuff.
I didn't really like the new Jao Nang Noy either. I got irritated by the part where the main guy had accidentally ripped her shirt open and then his father stopped him. She went to talk to the dad and he asked her if she liked the main guy too and then she acted all shy and stuff and basically said yes. I was just like WHAT! That guy practically molested you and didn't even show you the respect that you deserve. And you were saying no all this time but now you say yes when asked?
Anyways, overal I was just disapointed with the new version.
Also at the end, when the villain siblings were getting into the separate trucks, where was it taking them? and when the doctor was diagnosing the villain dad, did he lie and put not mental?
