There are many Japanese shows that I personally have found better than this (soredemo ikite yuku, kazoku game), but that is all subjective and I thoroughly enjoyed Alice in Borderland, even though it had some flaws.

They haven't announced a second season yet, so for now it is up to our imagination lol.

I dropped that one, because the CGI is horrible. It is a pity, because the manga is pretty good, but it is also a movie that needed a good production to work and it didn't have any of that. Well it is a death game series, so it has some similarities with alice, but I personally saw more differences. If you like the death game theme though, you should definitely give it a chance.

I mostly agree. One of the things that frustrated me the most with this subplot, is that the officer seemed unfazed by whatever was happening. He saw people being mass killed, he helped with getting the bodies in caskets and burn them, he saw people remove organs from humans and he was like "oh okay, that's breakfast for me". He had literally no reaction. I think the subplot was mostly there to emphasize the whole "money matter the most, I would kill my own brother to continue" than anything else. However there is room for another season (and if that happens, since we didn't saw a body, the police officer may be alive). All in all though, I found it very entertaining and binge worthy, so I didn't mind that much.

It's fine we all have different opinions. I personally liked this one better than Alice in borderland, even though Alice was much more eye pleasing than this.

At the first game I was like "oh he is old, he might have served in a war so he isn't fazed of all of the bodies", but then when he stood on top and said "we must stop" and the frontman said stop I was like "oh that is very suspicious, it was like he took an order". And same! I was even doubting if I saw the men in red suits shoot him. I was thinking "did they show him being shot or not?".

No, not really expect the fact that they happen in multiple countries for the enjoyment of the rich and that they also bet money on them. So basically it is for the sake of entertainment. I agree that the ending wasn't so satisfying, but I didn't find it bad either. I suppose we will wait and see if there will be another season, but frankly I don't know if I would like one if we see the ML going back. I would prefer different players. You are welcome!

Even though I was sure that he was somehow involved after they tried to kill each other, I hoped that I would be wrong because I really liked him.

It looked like he will either participate in the game again or go back to find out more about why this game is happening and to punish them. It either means that there will be a season two or it is an open ending and we just know that he went back.

What do u mean spin offs? If you mean about second seasons, I am not a fan either for multiple reasons, but I guess it is fine as long as they don't drag it.

Nope. I don't no what it reminds you of. Frankly many people compare this with other death game series or movies, but for me there are more differences than similarities.

You are welcome! Kind of curious to see how it will end, but I agree. It is very entertaining which is very important in this genre, so I can't say I am dissapointed. My expectations were met.

I really love reading your reviews! This one is also great and it contains everything that I wanted to know. I really enjoy it too so far (episode 6) and I completely agree that they could make less episodes since the whole characters back stories are necessary, but also quite draggy.

I mostly watch Asian content so it is fine for me. The netflix originals are good, so I hope this one will be also. The first episode was quite good. Hopefully it will pick up its pace.

For me it isn't really binge worthy. One episode a day is fine. It is slow paced and character driven, so it is not one of the series that ends with a cliffhanger in every episode. I didn't have the urge to binge it. I finished it in about 2 weeks. If you are looking for something else I would either recommend a series with just a few episodes that are also hard to binge like the victims game or maybe Byakuyako. I binged it (I mention it because the majority doesn't consider it binge worthy) but it is pretty dark so if you are not a person that is a big fan of dark stuff this is great for just one ep a day. If you are looking for something longer, that it not binge worthy, you may try Vincenzo (it is a hit or miss though), mr sunshine, stranger or strangers from hell. I personally watched them slowly either because the episodes were long or because they were too dark or slow paced to watch more than one ep a day.
