I was hoping someone had translated it so I could read it, but well...

I know they are long, but that is way too many chapters. Usually I see around 150-300 chapters. Unless they are very short or sth.

That can be it for sure. Addicted is very popular and I am sure many authors were inspired by it to write their works, but like you said, those two stories are very different.

I love how it is evident he portrays two different characters. Like when we had Ji Ling and the dragon diety, it was like seeing two entirely different people, even though it's the same actor.

I agree. I was just shipping the two boys in FoF. The mains did nothing for me and again I could do with zero romance between them. This one is definitely more interesting, even though I'm also enjoying the Chen Du Ling/Joseph pairing more cause they have "darker" vibes.

I have an even more unpopular opinion. I'd love it if there was no romance in general and we just had all this characters being epic having their own stories.

Everything is so damn pretty, it's gonna be the death of me. Like thank you GJM for choosing thus profession I guess and fuck you for raising my expectations.

I think it has some similarities in some aspects. Costumes, fighting scenes and visuals looks great but certainly a bit different than his previous series. What I mostly feel like it is different is the color grading in this one. That aside, story wise, this is based on a book and not on an original script comparing to his other dramas so that may also have affected the production cost or sth. Plus, and probably most importantly, another director is Co-directing (not the first time, but I think this one is different from the one(s) he usually collaborates with and they are both more or less principle directors so that may be the reason why this looks different).

I think it will still be very well directed and have his signature marks but it may not be as similar to his other works as we would expect.

I have so many things to say and I honestly have no idea where to even start.
So I am only gonna say that that fight scene in ep. 1 was insane and I just -what a shock I know- love the visuals.

It also annoyed me in the first episode. It either got better or I got used to it.

I was joking when this was filming that we'll get it earlier than Hidden Shadow.
