I feel it will air very soon though. Viki already has it, they released new stills and I think they are promoting it.
+ PZ did the reveal. Disappointed, but not surprised. It'd either be him or his dad. I was hoping for the redemption path, but oh well, he went all diabolical. At least the writing was more or less consistent with his character.
Dai Xu is doing an amazing job though, so props to the actor. Plus glasses fit him extremely well.
+ Lu Yu Xiao is so damn pretty, like wow (and an equally pretty crier)
My first drama with her was My Journey to You, one of my favs, and I loved her there. Couldn't get into Love in the Clouds and wasn't fond of her there from what I saw, but well after this one I can tell she'll be on my list of actresses I'll look forward to watch on screen. I also think she fits more "dark" roles like Shangguan Qian, and I'd love to see something similar from her in the future, especially after this drama that she was more in the "bright person" side.
+ Whoever chose their clothing *standing ovation
ZY's especially, fantastic. He carries himself very well and the clothing makes him even more attractive. Will also look forward to his other works, but please don't be soon. I think it will be a while since I'll be able to watch any of them in anything else.
+ I am already rolling my eyes about the unecessary angst that will inevitably come. Everyone will start blaming ZY for something that obviously wasn't his fault and of course they will break up, probably cause of her dad. Girl lost three years cause of her dad's accident and now she'll lose the one that she loves for the same reason. Well of course they will make up, but at this point I just have the need to skip the angst and go straight to the happy parts.
+ The dad car accident felt so unecessary and soap-opera-ish. Like 🙄🙄🙄
If the whole series was like that I'd get it, but it just felt so out of place. I'll just erase it from my mind
+ And after all this angstfest (that didn't even properly start), we have the "happy" ending song. I almost laughed. Reminded me of the FoF ending song. Like thank you for at least making me feel a tiny bit happy after all that lol.
+ VR? Needed more of that...
+ We better not have a stupid 200 years later time skip, cause ðŸ˜
It's not available here either. And the worst part is we have to wait 2 days for episode 25...
But yes, iQiyi, the official platform, has now released the express package, so all 28 eps are out. If you had iqiyi premium all eps would be available for you.
I also watch on Viki and we only have until ep. 24 today. They will release the rest of the eps slowly so it will take a few days until the show is fully released on Viki. It's sth official platforms do to "have the upper hand" and benefit financially.
Subs (translation wise) are very good. Only problem someone may have is regarding the segmenting. They just "pass" very quickly compared to Viki and sometimes it may be difficult to read on time.
Viki has two "packages". One with 720p and no downloads and another with 1080p and downloads. I thought it was pricier, but iqiyi was definitely a better choice, cause it has full HD and it is cheaper than Viki.
The Kdrama is my fav series of all time, and I know I'll just be compairing.
I'm glad it's good though.
Corporal punishment was (and still is) a thing in many countries. In Greece, we also had it and it was also considered more or less the same. A way to discipline the kid, same thing with the teachers. It's more of the older generations now though and mostly "forgotten" (maybe putting aside some places in Greece).
I personally saw it more from the "abuser/abusive person" pov and I think their relationship and his character are very well written no matter how one perceives it. I am glad you shared this and made me see it from a cultural mindset too.
I honestly don't care about who will end up with HX. Well, we all know, it is a drama after all and since they love each other, I like the main couple. But the other dynamics in the series are just very interesting and also deserve some recognition and understanding.
From a more western pov it also shows how family shapes ones character and how important upbringing and life events are. What you mention is probably also gonna be why HX chooses to break up with the ML. He'll honor her family and father, same way she abandoned her dream cause of his injury, cause China is family-orientated and filial piety is much more impotant compared to other countries. For example, if I am not mistaken, even though in the west it is natural for someone to put his elderly parents in a nursing home, it is not as widely accepted in China, because of the filial piety and the idea that kids should be taking care of their parents.
I hope the two male leads just cooperate to take the dad down and just fix their relationship step by step. Not sure how that will go though. Taking into consideration how strict China is when it comes to financial crimes, the dad and the son could just end up in jail. Even though I am hoping for the best, there are only two possibilities. Either PZ or his dad will leak ZY's identity and since in the previews it seems like PZ will find out about the relationship between ZY and HX, he'll probably leak the info to keep her close to him. I hope I am wrong though,
PZ's father is definitely the main reason that the hostility between the main characters was created. Even if he didn't insert lies perse, such a huge change of dynamics, combined with his abusive behaviour for years, can easily create a hostily and competitive environment where the "fittest" and the "most capable" survives.
I am talking only for this particular scene.
Yes, he can't go against his dad, but at the same time he did confront his dad about HX when he found out he's spying on her.
You know what could have solved everything? If they knew who her dad is. If she was a normal girl, no one would bother with her. And also if the brothers could just communicate. They are at odds with each other and it is just unfortunate.
It's difficult to do so, cause his dad is basically number one in the industry. Not even ZY dares to cross him yet, before finding the adequate evidence. And his life is not depending on him.
I am glad he at least wants to get more involved in the finances of the company.
Definitely. He could have not mentioned her in the table for sure. That's what created the whole problem. His dad probably wouldn't spy him otherwise. I just find it unfortunate to only blame him in this particular case and not the dad for being the way he is.
PZ is not the sanest person out there and I get his dad is a psycho and he should know better and not mention it, but at the same time I'm a bit bitter that people are always blaming the kids for the wrongdoings of their parents.
Same thing that will happen to ZY now. People will blame him for what his dad did. He changed his identity for something he should never have been blamed for from the get go. Of course truth will be revealed in the end and his fame will be cleared, but it pisses me off that people in Cdramas and well also irl prefer not seeing the core of the problem and blame everyone else.

Same thing that will happen to ZY now. He will be blamed for what his dad did, even though he was a child back then. Of course truth will be revealed in the end and everything will get fixed, but this whole way of behaviour is pissing me off in Cdramas.

Same thing that will happen to ZY now. He will be blamed cause of the identity of his dad, even though he was just a kid back then. His adult life and everything he build could collapse cause of sth that never was his fault.
Of course truth will probably be revealed and his name and reputation will be cleared, but that type of behaviour is pissing me off and it's very common in China and in Cdramas etc. Someone's parents may be scumbags and their children get dragged even for no reason sometimes, just because they are related to them.
I definitely would like seeing more of their family life it would be interesting. From what we see, it seems he's greedy, but only abuses his son. He praises his wife and has a good name in the industry. PZ looked awed that his dad did that to ZY which is weird.
That is almost for sure. It was implied from the get go and it will probably be revealed in the upcoming episodes, he will clear his name etc. That's why the dad basically followed HX too. He said to PZ "Don't you know who her father is?". He probably wants out whoever was part of that collapse back then cause it gets him in danger. He doesn't care about getting his hands dirty. After all, he basically comitted fraud with the finances of the company to stay number 1 in the industry. We better see him in jail though (PZ can easily end up there too) and not just the typical censorship "he served life in jail for fraud" after the drama ends.
Definitely, but like someone else commented below (in another post) all his relationships were transactional. I don't think he knows how else to show interest and care. He could have not mentioned her in the table for sure. That's what created the whole problem. His dad probably wouldn't spy him otherwise. "Can the two brothers just team up and go end that asshole?
He's such a manipulative bastard and he's just plain horrible 🤢
Yeap, he wanted to piss him of, but can we all acknowledge that the actual problem is his father and that he needs to 🔪 or go to jail 🚔 asap?"
I did focus on the scene between PZ and ZY cause it pissed me off, but what I initially said, like literally first two sentences, is that the dad is the problem. Same with conclusion.
