ZY also never dared to go against him. He was being followed when he was abroad and did nothing. Now that this happened he threatened PZ instead of facing his father. And the problem is that this way they don't achieve anything.
PZ may not face his father and is afraid of him, but in the end he still went to talk to him after ZY said what he said. That aside, everything could just be solved if there was communication between the brothers that's why I truly hope they team up and take him down.
HX is not in danger cause his son mentioned he likes her. It's because of her identity and more precisely the identity of her father that ML knew about.
Yeap, but he still chose to be with her in the end. And I get why, he's in love. The problem on this case like all dramas is that's she's not just a simple female character. Of course she had to be involved somehow with what happened in the stadium which of course will be the reason for the upcoming angstfest (that hopefully won't last for long). Plus he wanted to tell his mom at some point at least that's what he implied.
He can only blame him for the financial things in the company and put him in jail.
I'm just talking about this specific scene that I found irritating af and just there to cause tension and drama. I also felt it was out of chatacter for the ML to act like that.
Yes he couldn't have not mentioned he likes a girl, I agree. He knows how his father is. But I think it is irrational to always blame PZ when the real problem is his dad. Plus in this particular case, everything could be solved if they communicated which of course they wouldn't do each for his own reasons.
FL is not in danger cause PZ mentioned her. His father wouldn't give a shit if she was a normal girl. She's in danger cause her father was working on that stadium and ML knew that that's why he would never dare mention her.
Regardless of who everyone supports in the series or in this scene, I think we all can agree that the main problem is the father and he should be dealt with. I'm tired of the two brothers fighting over Hu Xiu and the miscommunication that could just solve so many problems.
I just want them to team up and get rid of him.
Secondly, he didn't say they are in a relationship to ask for permission nor mentioned her identity.
It's like I'm saying to my family "I like this guy, his father is a salesman" and they decide to spy on me, find who he is, do a background check and follow him constantly 🙃
I'm sorry but I feel like everyone is focusing too much on the wrong people. If someone is at fault here that's the father cause he's just plain insane. I'm not gonna start blaming anyone else.
Plus I'm sorry but if we are talking about protecting people then ML should have also stayed away from her since he knows the whole situation and he's hiding his identity from her but he didn't. He also didn't go to confront him or even inform her about it to be careful. He just threatened the 2ML like that would change the result.
Well is he gets punished as he deserves I'll be doing a standing ovation in my living room.

And I hope ML doesn't know about the abuse, cause if he does and still decided to say mockingly "Will you dare go against your father?" that's just evil and worst, out of character...

Like come on. If he's so brave and not scared he could go speak to that bastard, but he didn't dare either or probably didn’t want him to know he's also involved with her. He knows how powerful that man is and that's why he doesn't dare to act yet he blames PZ for doing the same. Make it make sense.
And all that while he's also hiding his identity. Like does he think he protects her like that? That the truth will stay hidden forever? (Of course not, this is a drama and we're wanting for this to happen since we found out about it)
People will judge the ML cause of his father's fault (that will probably be revealed that it was never his fault but well). Yet he's blaming PZ for his dad's wrongdoings when the only thing he did in this case was mentioning he likes someone. Did he do it mockingly also? Yeap, he wanted to piss him of, but can we all acknowledge that the actual problem is his father and that he needs to 🔪 or go to jail 🚔 asap?
Like the actual problem is that they can't even utter something without being scared of the consequences...
If he wanted to work on sth similar I'm sure his dad would never let him be hired anywhere. Even leaving his company would ruin his reputation, so he probably wouldn't let that happen either.
At least I'm glad he's trying to get more involved in the financial situation of the company.
The only reason ML noticed is because he's constantly with her and the same thing has happened to him in the past. He exaggerated imo in this scene. Or to be more precise, I get why he acted like that, but if someone had to hear it it's the "dad" cause PZ wasn't really at fault here.
He just mentioned to his dad he likes someone and dude is such a lunatic he found her and had someone to follow her 24/7. He checked her background. He's an asshole that cares about no one but himself and his money. So he could just go talk to him, but he didn't dare either like he didn't dare when he was following him when he was abroad.
Plus saying something like that was a very low blow from the ML. Man is being abused probably since he was a child from that man and he used it against him for no reason.
He just said he'd protect her, I didn't see that being that arrogant. After all, ML is not protecting her either by hiding his identity.
I believe they grew up quite differently from what we see. 2ML was probably abused since he was a kid and his stepmother is just absent. Plus he's kind of "trapped" in a house with these two terrible people and even his work depends on his dad. He also learned to always compare himself to others and well all the things you mentioned regarding his psychology that I won't repeat.
It's like there's no escape for him.
ML on the other hand, seems like he had a good relationship with his parents before his father killed himself. Even in that panic attack he had in the Dark Corridor, it looked like he was having fun with his father before the "funeral photo" appeared.
The fact that he went abroad and got away from them and then opened his own company is very important in his character development and also made him much more independent and free.
Yeap. He obviously doesn't see her as a work associate so he goes to show affection the only way he knows, by offering gifts.
It's truly a bit sad he doesn't see that she's not interested. But I suppose it's because he doesn't know he has already "lost" and at this point Hu Xiu feels like his lifeline.
He definitely is bewildered cause it's the first time he's feeling like that.
For someone like him that never knew love and affection, it must have been overwhelming when Hu Xiu treated him like a human being. It's like he can't comprehend that someone was kind to him and he just has this need to get that affection from her cause he needs it in his life that is otherwise quite empty. No relationships, no friends (also a big difference with the ML that at least has one friend and he has the VR game to get away from reality), no family that ever loved him.
It was a marriage that was falling apart. There were many instances where he just wasn't being a good husband. But I liked how it showed that 2FL knew that her marriage was breaking apart, but didn't want to acknowledge it and how he was in love with her at first. I also liked how we didn't have the typical "cheater" trope.
He was emotionally absent and unable to understand that he stopped loving her. I liked it cause whatever he did the focus was on the fact that they just couldn't communicate or more precisely he refused to communicate with her no matter how much she tried.

If you're planning to watch it on your mobile I'd go with iqiyi cause the quality (analysis and sound) are much better. If you're planning to watch on Tv or Pc I'd go with Viki (for me at least, the quality is full HD in both except my mobile)
I was talking to another MDL user about this (Grumpy Witch) and she phrased it perfectly saying that "his whole life has been transactional" and the only way he tries to show affection is by gifting expensive things to other people.
He's a very well written character and I also feel super bad for him. He's a victim and the mom is equally responsible and I'd dare say I hate her even more cause there's no way she doesn't know what has been happening all these years. She just chooses to ignore everything and do nothing.
Dai Xu is also excellent portraying this role. You can see how he feels from his eyes. The scene with the band aid and his vulnerability there were heartbreaking to see. Man has never experienced any type of affection from anyone and yet he's trying to give what he has to Hu Xiu.
I think it's mostly for international audiences or just a subtitling rule.
I don't need too much, just a nice closure for him. The series is very well written so far so I hope they don't disappoint.
I agree. I think he needs a push though and if it doesn't come from himself, someone else needs to do it. Not necessarily someone he sees as a love interest but someone that will make him open up.
I truly hope the upcoming episodes help him redeem himself and give him "a way out". I'd love to see his relationship with his brother getting better.
