I don't really agree with the GT situation. I understand what you mean and why it can be frustrating, but it is not something that someone can easily get over. Also the reason why GT was like that was also because he felt guilty. Not because of his brother near dying, but because he really thought that he wanted him dead. The situation is very serious especially if you think of the circumstances so I understand his behaviour. On the other hand I completely agree with what you said about the editing. It is not as good now, even though the show is still visually pleasing. I also agree that MY is a great character overall and I can't wait to see what will happen next and how everything will be resolved. I hope they don't ruin it.

I do believe that her mother is alive, but I don't think it is Park Ok Ran. She is probably a fan of MY's mother since we saw her in the previous episodes to choose a book of hers to read. Plus the whole plastic surgery thing is probably false since it was shown on the preview. If it is true I will be really dissapointed.
It was indicated that she was nearly dying but then everyone said that she just disappeared. I think she is still alive and it is going to be someone that is really close.

I personally believe that GT's memory is distorted and not ST's. I don't believe that he tried to kill his brother, but I think that something happened that we don't know. I am thinking in that way because we saw in past episodes that GT remembered wrong a few things (the umbrella and the food incident).

I was also waiting for the subs because I am from Europe too. Dramacool upload it quicker with subs and with a quality of 480p. At 11 o clock here it was uploaded on dramacool with subs and on 1080p. If you can wait a little it is better to watch it from there with good quality.
In my country it aired 3 PM and at night it was uploaded on high quality.

I think that we are missing something. I don't think GT wanted to kill his brother, but I do think that his memory is distorted in some way. He didn't remember correctly a lot of things so far (the umbrella incident for example). So I believe that something else happened that we are not fully aware of, but MY was there and she saw what truly happened.

Everything is pointing to that direction so I don't think it is her. It is too obvious to be her. She probably will play a vital role, but I don't think that she is her mother. That would be a great disappointment.

Well yes, but if it continues like this the ratings won't go below 9. Besides after the drama finishes not that many people will watch it. So far it has about 3 thousand ratings and there are many that haven't rated it yet. Hospital playlist is also stable even though it has finished for a while. But this is a different series so we will see. The main thing is that it should stay stable till the end. If the ending is bad or it gets draggy it can easily go below 9. We will wait and see. I hope it doesn't turn out bad.

It depends. The majority of the people that watch this will rate it highly. But personally I will wait until it finishes. It is perfect so far, but we are only halfway through.

I am studying a little Korean by myself for a few days now. Let's see how that goes...

Exactly. Because they are polar opposites, MY starts to understand what feelings mean and GT finally is able, because of her, to express his feelings and not hold everything in. It is obvious in the 8th episode. She is a breath of fresh air for him. She is the person that makes him forget his routine and she gets to spend time with someone that is not his brother.

It is sad that they shortened the drama by 4 episodes, but it is probably not only because of low ratings. I thing they said that it was because ''they wanted the series to be more fast pacing'' which is probably not true. I think they did it not only for the low ratings, but also because of the whole coronavirus situation at the time. Many dramas, not only in Korea, were purely edited or went downhill because of coronavirus and maybe that is the reason why they decided to shorten that one too. I mean, there are many series that have bad ratings and are not considered good in general, but they get to finish intact.
I also want to say that even though many people started watching this because of KSH they stayed because of the unique plot. I personally started this, because of SYJ and the great trailer, but I was fascinated by everything in this series. There are many people that appreciate these things more. Many hated the king the eternal monarch and now Backstreet Rookie, even though there the actors that play the ML's are famous. Also, we shouldn't forget that they are Kdramas and the production cares more about the Korean viewers since they are benefitted from them. Most people watch Kdramas from illegal sources when they are not available on Netflix (some people even prefer the illegal sources when it is available on Viki, because of the quality). Lastly, this is broadcasted on Netflix that is a huge platform.
Even though it is awful that they shortened a piece of your mind, it is the movie/series industry and first and foremost they are looking for money. Not all people like the same series and they can't support the same things. Even though I don't usually go for romance I chose to watch this firstly because of the trailer and secondly because of SYJ. If it wasn't good I would have dropped it, but the plot, cinematography, acting and the OST are not only incredible but also completely different from what we usually see. This is one of the few shows that is genuinely good and deserves it's high ratings and the anticipation here on MDL. But like I said on another comment, we are only half way through and that may change.
